this is not just super mario brothers for the nes/famicom, it's the famicom disk system version (a famicom peripheral only for the japan market). anywayyour gameplay is very good.

@trooperx36 Not really. The proof is shown when Mario kills those fake ones with fireballs. The only Dragon is Bowser in World 8. All other ones transform in something else than a Dragon. So, Bowser is only in World 8. ;)

Good playthrough...but why does the ground have the same texture mapping as it does in SMB2 (Lost Levels)?

@msw0322 Thank you! For the texture mapping, it must have been when I downloaded the game. Somebody surely changed the graphics in this version, but the controls and the rest remained the same as the true version though. :)

@Speedy10001001 With practice and knowledge of the game. However, I practiced more before recording those videos. I wanted to look very effective while showing lots of secrets, but it was not a speed run. ;)

Strange... The ground is from Super Mario Bros. 2, (Lost Levels) and the mushrooms are too..! It's sort of like a SMB, and the Lost Levels mixed!

But seriously, how'd you get it to look like that? .... ...

I just downloaded an emulated version of the game. Controls are the same, but it seems someone changed the looks. That's the only difference with the original version. :)

I am all ready to do it, but my SNES recording emulator cancels the sound every time I try to record. I need the sound in order to play well or better. It records the sound, but I cannot hear it while I record. It's very sad. If anybody finds a solution to help me, please send me a message! :)

Well, maybe I can help. First, which emulator are you using? 2nd, what are you using to record?

Maybe there's some sort of seperate thing to record sound. Check your tool bar. Like I said: MAYBE I can help. Is there any other commands? Try all of them. Maybe one of them can record both sound and gameplay. Try it out. There might be something in your tools bar that can help too.

Or, no. Do you have a video camera? Just record with that. If the programs turn off sound, just record gameplay with a video camera.

Believe me, I tried everything I could. What bugs me about this is that an expert would clear it up in less than 5 minutes. It's frustrating a litle, because I can't wait to do new vids and for SNES this time!

Just to clarify before any trolls show up, I know this is the first Super Mario Bros. but it's different from any version I've played. Some of the sprites are different such as the pebbled rather than bricked ground and the mushrooms, trees and clouds with eyes. was this released domestically?

It's almost like the original version, except for the floor designs I guess. I don't know which one it really is. For your info, it was downloaded from roms-freak! (dot net)
