  • wow what a true junglist. not playing dnb/jungle because dubstep and electro is whats popular. what a load of horse shit. and all those fucking gross skanky probably underage girls dressed up like idiots are not JUNGLE.

  • *cringe*

  • WEAK. Where is the history? Where are the innovators? Denver is NOT the epicenter of the US D&B scene...

  • looks like a lot of key players from the American d&b scene are missing from this trailer......

  • no mention of funktion or respect... get the fuck outta here bro.... no matter if its a teaser! should be the first you mention! its like making a uk documentary without a mention of ram or renegade hardware.... lol

  • i hope that american jungle documentary showcases a little known clubnight here in la we call RESPECT Thursdays. didnt look like it in that teaser...

also... who the fuck are the bass disciples? surely there are other american d&b acts worthy of mention like hive, gridlok, calculon.... looks like a fucking denver doc at this point. FIX UP!

  • Never going to die! Toronto 1 love!

  • bring it on! i love the american djs and scene!! tip for ya, friction, andy c, ed rush zinc

  • met you at high rankin last night; you told me to look up 'american jungle' . This is pretty cool dude....

  • what is the song playing at 2:10??

  • What's the song playing at 2:11?

  • RESPECT!!!!! L.A. THURSDAYS!!!

  • Hope to you come to San Diego. We have a Great DnB scene down here.

BIG UP, cant wait for the final cut.

  • @jimnute1 I hope to be in San Diego this Summer. Please send us any info about San Diego to theamericanjungle@gmail.com

  • BIG up AJ crew! Cant wait to host you guys in Knoxville May 21 @ the Cider House!!!!

  • @duhd999 had a great time in Knoxville! Look out for Teaser 2.0 coming soon with footage from our trip to Knoxville & our shooting in Denver over the last 2 months. Thanks again for all the support from around the World.

  • big up nkog - love ur tunes.

  • Anytime you want to cover the REAL American Jungle scene, let us know, we'd be a lot more interested in your film, 100% of the people in your trailer have already been interviewed in previous documentaries, unless you've got some serious tricks up your sleeve, this is a recycled concept that has been covered quite a few times now, at least TRY to break away from the mainstream people who obviously everybody knows about, they aren't the ones representing us to the rest of the world anymore.

  • @nkogliaz thanks for your comment. This is only the teaser and the interviews were shot at Electric Daisy Carnival in Denver. WE ARE TRAVELING TO OVER 40 CITIES THIS YEAR DOCUMENTING DRUM & BASS IN NORTH AMERICA. EVERY SUB GENRE & SCENE BIG OR SMALL. I promise this will be the most well rounded film made about Drum & Bass in North America. This is a big project and we have a long way to go still. Please email me at theamericanjungle@gmail.com to tell us your story.

  • @TheAmericanJungle till we see you in la this shit is bunk/wack/LAME!

  • Does anyone know the name of the track that starts around 3:04 ?

  • @atcq101 the whole mix for the teaser was created by Denver local, Bad Logik and you can find his music on Section 8 records. There is a link to his pages in the Teaser info.

  • I'm buying this as soon as it's released. Looks awesome. It just inspires me to get the scene in my area started that much more. Keep it up guys!

  • @FreebassFM Please do! We will be travelling all year documenting our awsome drum & bass scene in North America.

  • FUCK YESS!!!!

  • awesome ;)

  • nice but I think there should be more jungle considering the name ; )

  • @Convolutedtear We will be touching on every aspect of the genre in the released film. Thanks for your comment.

  • Someone should do something like this here in Australia. Most of the underground music here is Hip-hop/Electronic, places such as Melbourne and Brisbane are where the hub is at.

  • @GlennBate maybe in a few years i can do a worldwide drum & bass doc.

  • this looks so gooood! Im JACKED bout it!

  • bottom line, dnb was spawned from the rave scene. but i think in north america especially some cities/scenes/promoters have made a conscious effort to make a DNB scene totally independent of the rave scene. and i dare say that most scenes that are left in america are just that! just my humble opinion :) can't wait to see the final video onket! :)

  • ewun here about the final comment on the video. its all rave music if you go back far enough i agree with that 100%. my perspective on dnb might be different from some. but a lot of the friends ive made over the years in north america can agree it's been a struggle to get dnb into the main room and keep the negative side of "rave" culture removed from the music that we all have devoted our lives to. the jungle room at a rave was its own planet, with its own mission.

  • @killnoisekill Respect. I've always felt the same way about the whole thing. Looking forward to seeing this documentary in it's entirety. :)

  • Can't wait to see this project take off, but -- there is more to DNB than teh wobble. So far the music in the trailer is an unbelievably narrow representation of the genre.

  • @riomx my good friend John 'Bad Logik' provided the music to me free of charge. He is a great artist and we have an unbelievable lineup for the finished project, this is ONLY THE TEASER... this is my footage from Denver & trips to LA. Everything here is to gain support to MAKE a documentary about the North American Drum & Bass scene. Its going to take our film crew traveling for the next year to show the real American Jungle. Please read more into the project and try to understand our goals.

  • @TheAmericanJungle I know about the project. But you also have to take audience perception into consideration. It's what determines if a film becomes successful.

  • @riomx i hear that. one reason i'm starting my promotion and buiding this up so soon into the process is so that i can get more opinions and what would like to be seen in the final film. I truly want to create the most well rounded view on the North American Drum & Bass culture, from the music to the people who love it. Thanks to everyone for the great opinions!

  • please be sure to include dc/baltimore!

  • @maryishimotomorris we will, can't wait to visit DC and Baltimore!

  • thats so true at 2:30 drum n bass helps sorts things out!! this vid has got me hyped!!!

  • i appreciate what youre goin for, but are you guys new? "drum & bass? its just drums, fast ass drums." lol at ewun, dnb is your friend, people who used to produce dnb but "evolved" into making poppy bullshit are not, and they clearly dont have any more insight into the greatest music that man ever stumbled across. if you wanna represent american dnb, interview gridlok or someone else thats was grinding before those fools and are still doin it today for the music. - bones jones

  • @ogrewell it is our goal to show the entire North American jungle scene. we will be interviewing everyone that wants to share thier opinion on our film. Gridlok is on board and i cant wait to interview him. This is only the beginning of a long journey for me to tell the story about the music i love. I've been a drum & bass dj/promoter in Denver for over 10 years. I go by Dj Onket and run Sonus Music & Denver After 9ine. I appreciate all your opinions and will use them to make a better film.

  • @TheAmericanJungle good things man, i am just lookin out for the music thanks for understanding. i think ive heard of you before, do you make tunes? either way i help run things for dnb here in upstate new york (rochester buffalo syracuse )and have been doing so for over 10 years as well. you guys should come visit upstate for a party and see what myself and a few other notable urban action figures have to say about the music, upstate dnb heads have always been passionate folks.

  • @ogrewell cool brother we will definitely be hitting up Rochester.. do you know Tom Plan B & Neil Sherwood Elwood?

  • @TheAmericanJungle yeah man those guys are my friends, tom used to be next door neighbor. they are actually using my brand out there, jungle bums was a dnb weekly i ran here in rochester for 5 years. i told tom they could use my shit as long as they kept me in the loop and helped me make connections out there. they really havent done either at all or else i would have talked to you already huh, oops tom. all good tho this is the standard issue for jones as well as loc, tom will get it some day.

  • @ogrewell well thats cool man, i would love to touch on the connection between you guys. they def rep Rochester hard and claim Jungle Bums from there. Those guys really helped breathe new life into Boulder. Big ups, stoked to connect man.

  • @TheAmericanJungle @TheAmericanJungle thats great, i do have a general idea that they are doin good things w the bums brand out there. tom and i have talked a few times and just recently about keeping me in the loop more, i have alot of experience with this kinda stuff. tom said he gave u my contact info, so yeah we will have to hang out when you are in rochester. we are actually gonna be gettin some bums events goin again soon, "jungle club" this spring, you should come for something like that

  • Sucks the QR code in this video is too blury to work.

Regardless, glad to see this documentary coming together.

My only gripe is the last opinion at the end of this video about DnB being the antithesis of rave. Couldn't be further from the truth! Jungle/DnB has much of it's roots deeply planted in old school hardcore rave.

    Hardcore You Know The Score!

  • @takotheoktopus yeah, i'm really bummed to that the qr code isnt working. will have that fixed on the v.02 that we are tweeking out. thanks for the comment, i'm here to try and cover everyones opinions on our dnb scene. i always appreciate all POV.

  • @TheAmericanJungle

    Thanks for the reply.

By the way, what did the QR code link to?

I'm sure you'll have plenty of points of view to explore.

Look forward to updates on when this is to be released.

  • @takotheoktopus the QR code link went to the The American Jungle website and our Crowdfunding campaign on indiegogo We are trying to raise the initial funds to get us on the road in march to start shooting. My perfect plan is to take the film through the film festivals in 2012.

  • @TheAmericanJungle

I will definitly donate when I can. I've been involved in the jungle/DnB scene here in Vancouver on the left coast of Canada since '93. Send me a message if you want to interview anyone up here and I'll hook you up.

  • @takotheoktopus very nice. please friend me at facebook/theamericanjungle and /onket

  • @TheAmericanJungle

I see we already have a common friend. Elysha a.k.a. Ill-esha.

  • i love it, a dnb doc interviewing mostly people that used dnb as a stepping stone, and all people who dont even produce or spin dnb anymore! and how insightful they all were about the great drum and bass!

  • i love it, a dnb doc interviewing mostly people that used dnb as a stepping stone, none of which even produce or spin dnb anymore! and how insightful they all were about the great drum and bass!

  • @ogrewell that's just who were available at the time when the teaser was shot.. there are plenty more interviews comin.. believe.

  • @ogrewell this documentary is going to cover all the bases for sure. this is just the teaser to help us raise money and awareness about my film. we will be traveling all over the US and Canada this year to document all the scenes that have helped establish dnb in North America.

  • Jungle massive!!! There is no better medication than drum n bass!!! Thank you guys for doing this documentary! Lots of love and respect to you all! Junglist till my last mothafuckin breath!!! DC Reppin that Jungle love!

  • awesome! but a little bit about the roots of jungle in the early 90s would be great.

  • @Oxix999 We will definitly be covering the history in depth from the country as a whole all the way to the individual scenes.

  • Major like! Can't wait to see the final product

  • Whoa! Awesome seeing some of my old Denver crew in this footage!

  • DNB for life!!!!

  • I WOULD LOVE TO SHOW YOU GUYS THE OC DNB SCENE. I PROMOTE AND PLAY AT MERGE WHICH IS A DNB/DUBSTEP CLUB EVERY WEDNESDAY. WE GOT BIG NAMES ASSOCIATED WITH US LIKE THE HEAVY HITTAHZ AND DIRTY DEEDS!

  • DRUM N' BASS IN YO FACE

  • what up guys? I would be glad to show you guys around the Minneapolis dnb scene. We have a shit load of talent around here.

  • You know, I love this video, and there's many a respectable head. But given who's not wavered, and stuck to their guns.... why even mention dubstep. Let's cut to the chase and get back to where we once belonged....................

  • @headygroove i feel ya, but it is definitly a topic that needs to be touched on. I can promise you that it will not be a major part of the finished project. This film's goal is to show the past, present, and future of drum & bass in North America. Thanks for the comment. One Love In Drum & Bass!

  • Comment removed
