I live In Murfreesboro and it's obvious she is just doing this to get attention, albeit bad attention, for her upcoming run for congress. We have a ton of churches and I wasn't even aware we had one mosque. Also World Outreach is giant and she has aproblem with one little community center?
I reside in Murfreesboro, TN and I most certainly do NOT share this woman's view on the Islamic center. I have no objection whatsoever to the Islamic center. I firmly support the construction and opening of an Islamic center in Rutherford County.
There's no other Mosque in Murfreesboro, unless she's counting the hole in the wall next to that Auto Lube store, which is a VERY small Muslim community center, nowhere near a Mosque. Zelenik is a bigoted, hypocritical political opportunist. She, and others like her have made Murfreesboro look like the most bigoted place in the nation
The members of the current Mosque opened their doors at an Open House a week ago. Ms Zelenik was nowhere to be seen but she knows it is a training center for terrorists, etc. Her campaigning ads mention her support of Second Amendment Rights, unless a Muslim wants to own a gun, I suppose; because she surely isn't supporting First Amendment Rights because all the 250 Muslim families at the current rented facility want is a larger facility.....not as big as WOC's 250,000 + SF Mega Church!
First; Lou Ann ran for the US Senate and lost , so picture the votes she is trying to gather by latching onto this issue. Second; World Outreach Church, Ms. Zelenik's Church is very Pro-Israel....Pastor Alan Jackson's family have a have there. I like Mr. Jackson and the Church....but he needs to stay out of politics.
The information on the Mosque site is deceiving....the initial phase will be 8500 SF and will take some time because Muslims do not go into debt, something we could learn from them.
First time ive heard this woman speak and im not impressed at all.. presuming most people in murfreesboro are with her on this issue is horendous enuf but then she goes on and says that her stance on this has nothin to do with freedom of religion but the political agenda with radical islam and sharia law implications.. There is absolutely no merit in what she's implying at all.. Very poor representative voice of murfreesboro!!!!
Mrs. Zelenik, you went on national T.V. to stand firm against a masjid in Murfreesboro, TN., sitting in front of the Nashville, TN., L&C skyline! Then can't answer any of the questions with any logical intellect. None of your facts were remotely on point and because of this, you have dropped tremendously in your run You speak of threatening phone calls! They were probably from your campaign manager or your spouse, threatening to stop being associated with you because of your stupidity!
