hey man, I'm gonna buy a 99-04 mustang within the next year, but can't decide between a gt or a v6 (because of gas and insurance) but does the v6 even get that much better gas mileage than the v8? Also, If I get a v6 and put flowmaster 40's on, am I guaranteed to get that beefy hollow sound similar to the gt with 40's?

@guitarclaydo gas mileage is very similar and if your insurance record is decent the insurance isn't bad on the gt. I bought an 01 gt for my first car, and only pay about 1200 a year on insurance. Definitely go for the gt if its in your budget.

its not ricey, i guess it's just the sound that the smaller engine makes. i have a v6 as my DD also. jba ceramic short tubes, high flow cats, x pipe and a pair of Pypes mufflers, and it sounds the exact same way. no way around it. it's like almost impossible for an n/a v6 mustang to sound any different.

anyways, cool beans. if other people don't like it, they can f* off.
