You can find it in your local garden center. It is mixed in to soil for drainage purposes.

  • They are found in the lighting section as they are light difusers. Look on the shelves by the long floresent lighting fixtures. They cost about $12 for a 2' x 4' section. You can cut it to size with a piar if nips.

  • Are the egg diffusers called anything different at home depot.

  • I am breeding ball pythons this year. Do i need a egg diffuser that you use it this to incubate my eggs. If so where could i get one.

  • It is not mandatory that you use them. I find them to work very well and have great results with them. I buy them at Home Depot.

  • @maculatum38 this is gonna sound stupid but can i use sand to put the eggs in during the incubation process the reason im asking is because i i kinda need a fast souloution and all i have is a big bag of sand

  • @reptiledude1111 No as it won't hold the water like vermiculiteor hatch rite.

  • hey great vids, ive got spider to normal clutch hatching in 3 weeks, keep up the good work but please lose the footwear!

  • what do you use for the defuser?

  • how many times do you reaply water.

  • wats the size of the tubs

  • I like to keep them above the substrate....to me it just seems to give a better hatch rate. I have had way less bad eggs from mold with this method.

  • why do u put the egg on the defuser?

do you think it makes a dirrence

i had a few egs go bad on my last cluch

  • Personaly I would get one. There are a lot of easy ways to make one. If you can't get one for some reason, you could go the rout of maternal incubation and just leave the eggs with mom. You would have to supply the right environment as far as temperature and humidity are conserned. Do a search on maternal incubation and get some knowledge on the subject..

  • what if u dont have an incubator?

  • It is a thermometer from coralife. You can find them online at many places. Try Dr. Foster & Smiths website.

  • whats the probe called? cuz i needa heat em

  • what is the probe called?

  • It's worked fine for me and alot of other people. I tried it and like the results.

  • Is it better to let the eggs sit on top of that separator or is it just a method that you use because it works.

  • what humidity and temp should ball python eggs be at?

  • have you tried hatchrite??

  • No I have not....I just use good old perlite.

  • thanks dude i needed this
