  • The pilot for this show was called "Arch Rivals" (get it... they walk across arches) but I believe K&F changed it to capitalize on a known name- even though the 50's "Strike It Rich" was not a game show., A fun little game that replaced "Press Your Luck" in NYC when CBS returned that slot to the local affiliates. By Jan 1987, it was airing at 2:07AM. in NYC.

Personally, Arch Rivals was a better name. You weren't getting rich on this game, that's for sure. Top prize,if I recall was a model car.

  • Joe Garagiola played for 4 Major League Baseball teams: Cardinals, Pirates, Cubs and Giants.

  • Oh man! I haven't seen this show in 23 years. And Joe is the Arizona Diamondbacks radio announcer for baseball games. He's an amazing host/announcer.

  • If someone could find a clip of the game show "Triple Threat", that would be the best!

  • I knew they were going to take this show "off the air" but, I don't know why. My sister thought because nobody watched this show. My sister was glad that they took this show "Strike it Rich" off the air. I knew it may have a poor rating on it.

  • I wish they put a whole episode of "Strike It Rich" on YouTube. It was nice seeing the beginning of the show but, I like to see the whole show of "Strike it Rich" on YouTube where they win the prizes and even do the "bonus round".

  • I believe the sound effect for revealing the answers on the board was the same one used to reveal the categories at the beginning of the game on "Tic Tac Dough".
