  • Saw these guys live in the 80s. One of the coolest concerts ever.

  • my first true love turned me into a VooDoo head !!

  • Love this but I would love to see a Wall of Voodoo vid of this, its just fantastic, and even if there isnt a vid its just a sense of genious

  • the funny/ironic thing is that Stan Ridgway and the Producer, Richard Mazda had major disagreements about how to mix/rearrange this song following its recording, which resulted in Mazda going to the studio early and locking Stan out, they later made up with each other on the forums of Stan's website.

  • fantastic song

  • Amazing how this album just never gets old. Its one of the few recordings I just never get tired of hearing. Stan is the man.

  • This song is the story of my job search. They don't want me.

  • I remember this track .... great to hear it again :)

  • I have this album on cd and lp and don't understand why Stan's vocals are mixed down? The person who mastered this album didn't know what he was doing.

  • @chadergeist Agreed. The vocals on this and Factory are wayyyyy too low.

  • Stan is a musical !@#$ing genius,... and love Wall in concert saw them many times in early 80's

  • @cntstnducntstndu

i totally agree with you. stan is the most underrated musician ever. glad to see there are other people who know and like stan. thank you

  • Love the whole album - have since it came out many years ago

  • These guys were so great...makes me think they're from another planet...Planet Voodoo, that's it....I wore their albums out in the late 70's and early 80's...anyone I turned them on to thanks me to this day.

  • No band does Southwest pop rock like Wall of Voodoo.

  • ¡Un disco absolutamente incunable!!!! Yo lo escuché sobre el año 1985 y todavía alucino con lo iconoclasta y creativo que era el grupo...una maravilla.

  • wall of voodoo was there before anyone spoke the word EMO. And i thought it was just teen angst ... very hard to find this music anymore , thanks !!!!

  • The imagery on this album is amazing, including that awesome album cover. I wonder where that door is right now.

  • sexual tyranasaurus

  • This song gets a hold of you, doesn't it, like a tightening grip?

  • Grossartig!

Wie lange habe ich danach gesucht.

  • picked up this album on vinyl for a pound in a 2nd hand shop. had it blasting last night, it's a masterpiece!

  • Thank You For Putting This On Youtube! i cant find this song anywhere!

  • Mexican Radio was only the small tip of HUGE iceberg. Ridgway is a freakin' giant.

  • .....stupid prick-get outta here!~~~ yeah one of my favorites, my LP is autographed by STAN himself !

  • cool tune.

  • Pikra & pali pikra!!

  • Thanks for posting this. I love this song.

  • It's amazing to hear this stuff again. I was a big fan of these guys in the 80s. I'd never heard anyone like them.

I used to describe them to others as a spaghetti western rock band - and I meant that as a high compliment.

  • Yeah, they were quite cool!

  • Probably Morricone fun!!

  • Great song! WOV is unfortunately remembered 4 1 song, but they kick ass!!!

  • 5 stars...this album took me through troubled times

  • me too. climb inside the headphones and let the music pummel away the stress of outside world.

i forgot how cutting edge the sound of this song was. i love how it builds and builds to a chaotic semi-abrupt ending. sweet.

it is amazing how the obsucre band or album can have such a great impact on those that were blessed to enjoy and appreciate it.

  • My sentiments exactly. I actually got to meet Stan Ridgway when he was in Dallas. I told him that this song really surprised me. He signed my Call of the West sleeve. To me the really interesting thing about this song is that it's not fully explained why the person in question is unwanted. I think that is what keeps this song so timeless.

  • I hear you Nigredo. Even five stars don't do this song enough justice. This is easily the most powerful wall of voodoo song I've ever heard.

  • Whoever rated this a 1 is a moron.
