I've been writing songs and making records for many years, but my current band started out doing covers. . . in an admittedly unusual fashion. Sometimes doing a cover can get your toenail in the door, which was what we were hoping. We have a cover of a (relatively) obscure Beatles song called "It's All Too Much" coming out in Nepal in a week or so, but our next recordings will be original songs. @sroar yes its fine to post to any song , not everyone accepts , but its a good way to get music out ,ummm ( There is no music category for you tubers anymore so use any other category is the most valuable info i can give ) , use pets and animals or sports , not entertainment , you need 10s of thousands of views and 1000s of ratings to get on a page , that's the way it is now , try all the links in my description they all help original artist is a good start too , take care

@birkuscircus um you tube was sold to goggle who developed software to help China's censor decent ,its a very restrictive form of big brother, it has many facets.if you leave the same or similar comment on 3 videos it sets of a spam filter,but you can not see it unless you sign out and go back to the videos,your comments are marked spam but from your account it looks fine ,if you give your videos say 100 views from your IP it sets off a spam filter & locks your video at around 300 views ect .

It takes guts to go out there and show people what you're doing. And you're totally right: Even if you think you suck (pardon me) you really should talk to people. I thought YT had changed and I had only been an active viewer under another user name, then hadn't been back on until just recently. Since it has been on my list to do something with all of my original work whether it be poetry recorded or not or original photo's! So this is good. TeigeB sure , what i do originally is make movies of artist with around 30 singers , and they support each other , the videos you see posted are people who watched my video and posted a reply because they are willing to support others and are trying to connect with people , this is the only way for a lot of people to get support or views , the idea is come here and find people that have already made a commitment to help each other , but you have to go support them too for it to work .

I've been very lucky since I've been on youtube in that I've found myself becoming part of a great community of brilliant people and met some amazing artists along the way, some who I consider to be good friends now too. You are right about 'community' that is the nice thing about youtube, new format or not. it is a global community. Dana, I had no idea who you were, just another artist on Youtube...I was wrong!! You were my first Sub. Then all a sudden I began to get all these plays and comments coming in.....I thank YOU for that. You have some pretty inspiring words to say. You said in this video many of the things that I'm thinking and you have my greatest respect for doing this. It takes guts to go out there and show people what you're doing. And you're totally right: Even if you think you suck (pardon me) you really should talk to people. You can support others and they can support you. That's what we really should do as a community.

I thought YT had changed and I had only been an active viewer under another user name, then hadn't been back on until just recently. Since it has been on my list to do something with all of my original work whether it be poetry recorded or not or original photo's! So this is good. I have to learn more about the stars and rating others...Thanks!

TeigeB sure , what i do originally is make movies of artist with around 30 singers , and they support each other , the videos you see posted are people who watched my video and posted a reply because they are willing to support others and are trying to connect with people , this is the only way for a lot of people to get support or views , the idea is come here and find people that have already made a commitment to help each other , but you have to go support them too for it to work .

Great video man. I've been very lucky since I've been on youtube in that I've found myself becoming part of a great community of brilliant people and met some amazing artists along the way, some who I consider to be good friends now too. What your doing is brilliant so I left a video response, the music is mine and the video was kindly made by one of those friends I mentioned. Hope that's ok. =)

I really appreciate what you are doing. I feel very discouraged and frustrated at times because I don't really know how to get things going. I also love the idea of community and meeting people that understand what we are doing and why and see the value in it. I'm new to this and I don't even really understand Youtube that well yet.
