  • When my dad picked me up from school today, this song was on. Right when i heard it, it sounded very familiar and i remembered hearing this song when i was four or five. i luv this song and i forgot all about it till today!

  • My all time favourite BeeGee's song. It came out the month I joined the Royal Marines...

  • I had this album as a teen and forgot all about this song until I was searching for Bee Gees music and found it! wow! I can't believe how beautiful it is.....how talented this group was!

And I warped this record I played it so much! I remember thinking is there anything better than this??

  • Excelente tema,no puedo sacarmelo de la cabeza,es de aquellas musicas, que pasa el tiempo,y se te repite,y se te repite sin parar........

  • Saudades dessa época!

  • It doesn't get better than this.

  • Hey! Where's the 1...2...3...4... Intro from the beginning?

  • Love the Bee Gee's grew up hearing them and their music still sounds great after more than 30 years.

  • This is it, all time

  • เพราะทุกเพลง ชอบมาก

  • You're right - GREAT quality! I bought the original album.. nice to hear it without crackling ;o) Its kinda sad that in the vinyl days, the record buyer never ever heard what the music studio/producer/band did. If they did they'd probably say "oh I wouldn't buy that - its crap sound" LOL

  • stunning

  • Another Bee Gees song that has me wiping away tears, it's so pretty!

  • very sunshine song

  • one of the very best songs ever written.

  • how can ANYONE NOT like this? (the 4 thumbs down) Do you have ears of clay and a heart of iron?

One of my all time favorite Bee Gees songs, from my all time favorite Bee Gees album.

  • @SpacehotelMusic this song is probably one of the best from them!!.. I can listen over and over again and always get a good feeling it's what we call COOL song..

  • Heard this on the radio and came here. Not heard it for ages!! Thanks for posting. :)

  • This year came out Breakfast in America as well. Together with Regatta the Blanc. Madness, Clash......

  • Remember buying the album and falling in love wid dis tune. Still sounds class today. Such a class act, unique, talented, original, with the ability to write and compose. So sadly lacking today. Tune is made to love......

  • I think it's my favorite of this spectacular group, Maurice-RIP brother, take a bow, you gave us great!

  • just love this song...

  • awesome

  • Remember this from the '80s when I was working in the Middle East. Beautiful.

  • awsome song! havent heard this one in a long long time!

  • Lovely song.

  • An absolute classic beautifully composed by musical geniuses

  • Cold shit, brilliant.

  • This is an amazing song that I rank right up there with some of the Bee Gees greatest such as How Deep Is Your Love--it is a lovely, breezy melody and I love the title. One of my all-time favorite songs by the Bee Gees.

  • I'm 35 and the last time I heard this song i was 6 years old but it stayed in my head all this time. Didn't know the title but I knew it was by the Bee Gees. This is why I love you tube! I am so grateful that I was alive when music like this was being made. Thank you for the great share!!!

  • Thats for quality upload....although their disco hits have overshadowed a lot of their other stuff, i have always favoured this track.

  • 7/10/11:

    Sheer brilliance.

I heard this for the first and only time (until tonight), during a break, on the house system, in a club, on a gig, in 1981... I knew, immediately that I was in the presence of musical greatness. Thirty years later, and it's as memorable now as it was then.

This is the most harmonically adventurous Bee Gees tune ever recorded...

...and they still managed to work a pop hook into it, something that people can walk away from, whistling it.

    Sheer brilliance.

  • @tuxguys Perfectly said. I heard a doco once on BBC radio & they anaylsed this song, peeling back all the layers (literally & figuratively) & said it was one of the finest pop songs ever written. I love how it's a mixture of falsetto & natural voice, how it builds dramatically, how there is a spiritual message but most of all, the fade-out: my favourite 90 seconds of any Gibb-written song. Magic, magic, magic.

  • @tuxguys hear hear re spirits having flown. only 'tragedy' comes close as a work of musical genius.

  • The flautist is Curtis Amy. Can someone confirm I am right, pls?

  • A truly fantastic group who made wonderful music.

Thanks to all you posters for reminding us what real music sounds like.

  • Excellent sound quality and a really excellent song. Good work!!!

  • I thought this song should been a single in the U. S. while the Bee Gees were still the hottest group on the planet. Had it been released right after "Love You Inside Out", it could've been their seventh consecutive #1 hit.

  • I remember this being released! and why is music always associated with good memories!, When this was first released it fitted in with all the other great songs between the mid 70's to mid 80's - Allways been my favourite this one.

  • i'm addicted to this song ;-s

    ;-)

  • @clazza01 so am I!.. This is a very nice song and also I love "Sinking Ships"

  • A complete and gorgeous song and one of my favorites, thanks for posting such a clean version of it.

  • Spirits Having Flown I never fell in love so easily. Where the four winds blow I carry on. I'd like to take you where my spirit flies: Through the empty skies. We go alone, Never before having flown. Faster than lightning is this heart of mine. In the face of time I carry on. I'd like to take you where my rainbow ends. Be my lover friend. We go alone, Never before having flown.

  • [Chorus]

I am your hurricane, your fire in the sun.

How long must I live in the air?

You are my paradise, my angel on the run.

    How long must I wait?

It's the dawn of the feeling that starts

    From the moment you're there.

  • [Bridge]

You'll never know what you have done for me.

You've broken all those rules I live upon.

And I'd like to take you to my Shangri-La,

Neither here nor far away from home,

    Never before having flown.

  • [Chorus]

I am your hurricane, your fire in the sun.

How long must I live in the air?

You are my paradise, my angel on the run.

    How long must I wait?

  • It's the dawn of the feeling that starts

    From the moment you're there.

I'd like to take you where my spirit flies,

Through the empty skies we go alone,

    Never before having flown.

  • Thank you. My favorite BeeGee's song.

  • I love this!

First heard it on Radio 2 a couple of months ago and again today.

Can't believe that it dates back to 1979:o - I thought it was a recent song!

    Timeless!

  • How can you say you've never heard it before? I know its not played that often, but i have heard it at least a few times over the years on the radio.I agree its a great song.

  • Somehow, its just escaped my radar until now!

  • Played this to friends around for dinner and they didn't recognise it but did love it? Thought it was well known. It is immense, maybe we need to spread the word.

  • @davey1272250 Thanks, many thanks.

  • Spirits have flown and not having flown

  • A Bee Geespeach, most bands would retire after writing songs like this, not these boys they are pure genius

  • 5 star !!!

  • I feel breathless, just outstaning!!, thank you for sharing it with the world

  • You're welcome!

  • One of their lesser played songs - why?

    It's brilliant.

Love the instrumental bit at 1:56, and the drum bit at 2:56 (as stated).

    My favoriet bit is 0:00 - 05:13! :)

  • It was played alot where I live. I work in radio, and I know how markets are tested for songs. Some markets never played this song more than a few times, if reaction didn't come from program directors of stations who spun this, or any song. Weird how the record companies choose ..and tell us what we like to hear.

  • Thank you for posting this! I first heard this track in the spring of 1980, just after a couple of friends and I flew down to Mt. St. Helens to photograph the early results of eruptions. The song always has reminded me of spring and upliftment of spirit, even in tumultuous times...

  • You're welcome!

  • Drum fill at 2.56 makes this very special song, even more memorable. Definitely the best track the Bees Gees ever produced !

  • Another one of their underrated gems.

  • Fantastic song that I used to play over and OVER again as a girl.Fast forward 30 years and it still sounds fresh as I play it over and over again tonight!

  • One of their lesser known songs, but one of their best ever...

  • what memories! summer in italy. thankyou! swaying along!

  • I like it...did they were top at 1979-1980

  • I would have to say that this is probably one of the best songs that the Bee Gees recorded

  • bee gees rule bee gees forever

  • there was nothing ever wrong with the Bee Gees. I wept when I heard of Maurices death. there will never now be an authentic "new" Bee Gees song. tragedy.

  • In '83 as a disc jocky at a MOR station in Northern Colorado I played this song daily actually smuggled it in and played it when it wasn't on the playlist .. One of their all-time greatest pieces .. thanks for the post - Marc Marshall

  • Nice sound and perfect pitch! Thanks a lot!!!

  • hsould i discover the lps before 1975 ? is cucumber castle worth buying or should i download it first ? itunes 30 second samples sound good.

  • Light as a feather. So pretty, just like the whole LP.

  • Thanks , very nice

  • Excellent video honeybabe2007 ! I liked very much. Put a video with VOICES of the Lp Mr. Natural, of The Bee Gees. This music is very pretty ! Embraces. Much peace.

  • Their very BEST!!!!!

  • i like it.....i havent heard this before

  • God Bless the Brothers Gibb!

I was amazed to find out this was in fact 1980 - I could have sworn it was mid seventies. Great, great song. As good as the Night Fever era stuff was, I still prefer their later works like this, Tragedy and Inside Out.

  • Tragedy and Inside Out are from this very album!

  • annie6075, i could not agree more, i cant believe, or wont believe the speed thirty years has passed. middle aged, lost the plot years ago! agh!!

  • great recording!!! thanx a million

  • Simply on of the best songs of this group. I can go back to 1975 any time I hear this music!!!. Thanks so much for posting.

  • It just puzzles me why such great songs from top to bottom don't even get aired on the radio. ???

  • agree WHY.

  • This song has a powerful feeling, dynamics. It's inspirational. Way to go

  • this has got to be one of the most underrated songs ever, it transports me back to 1979 a different world, i agree with you rajandavid what if we could turn back the time what would i do differently? where did those 30 years go? i blinked my eyes and now im middle aged. shit.

  • we just have these songs to carry us forward now dear...

  • I feel the same, but I grew older... and never grew up. How sad is that(or is it)! But I'm sure that you have a beautiful life ahead of you. Smile when you look back. That is all we can do.

  • i love this song
