  • the one dis- like thinks we shoulded be climbing the mountian. might hurt the rocks...

  • Seeing that the Structure is made out of stone, how can the lighting affect someone inside !!!

  • I dont think so. There are much better views than Whitney. Look at the Alps. Nuff said.

  • It has to the greatest view on earth on top of Mt. Whitney, 14,495 ft.

I'm climbing Lone Pine Peak on Oct. 10th.

    Great video!

P.S. If they tear down that cabin built in the 1890s, where will all those tourists go when the weather gets bad up there?

  • people shouldn't have any reason to be on the peak during bad weather. as soon as the signs appear that bad weather is coming (or simply after 2pm in the summer months) you should get to a lower elevation and you will avoid the storms.

i agree the view is amazing but have you aver been to the alps? the view from the peak of mont blanc in summer is unbeatable! peace

  • I agree with you in that thousands and thousands of tourists flock to this mountain peak but why tear it down so one of these minions can have a pristine view? I think they ought to put a tramway in myself.

  • did u sign the log when u were up there? i went to whitney in a 8 day 80 mile trip with my 5th grade teacher

  • What is that buiulding up there, a weather station, perhaps?

    I'm stuck in Frisco, Colorado without a car but I spent a week in Jefferson County, Colorado's forests. }:-}

  • It's a cabin at highest elevation in (contiguous?) USA. It's unnecessary and should be removed.

I heard several people got killed in the cabin when lightning struck so it's not good shelter either.

  • If it's not sanctioned by any legitimate authority, it should be removed and, in fact, even if it is sanctioned, it should be removed, it seems to me. It's easy enough just to pull it apart with hammers.

  • Why do you think that its your "right" or responsibility to do that?

Perhaps you were the little kid burning ant hills with gasoline.

    Live and let live retard!!!

  • "Why do you think that its your "right" or responsibility to do that?"

Hey, assclown, do your homework before you open your fucking yap and spew your Republicanism.

Bet you're a Creationist buttfuck, too.

  • If you have ever climbed a tall mountain you would know why that "structure" is there... Have you ever been on a mountain when its LIGHTNING or a FLASH BLIZZARD! Mabey you should do your homework...

and by the way, I dont believe in God the Easter Bunny or Santa Claus

  • You braindead idiot, entering a long structure to avoid lightening is _exactly_ what all you insane Republican morons should do. Best way to get rid of you stupid fucks.

  • @gorinyan It holds valuable supplies should you get stuck and need them. Do you feels thats unnecessary? If thats the case then it's unnecessary that you're up there in the first place, do you agree?

The huts been up there 1906. I've been up 3 times.
