Probably because he was younger. I like the fact that he doesn't try to seem more then he is (whether coached or otherwise) as I get the impression of with D.Fanning. As a kid she talked like she was older then me (and I'm not even 23 years old).

I do see your point--but the parallels are uncanny. He played orphans. In Equus his break away he acts with the man who plays Vernon in the HP movies. The script for December Boys was written by Harrietta Potter and when he did Extra he spoofed himself--while alluding to Potter.
