Your design is absolutely ingenious! When working with biped robots there are generally two problems that sacrifice the ingenuity of biped technology. One, being the stability of the robot, and the robot's ability to turn. Both of which you solved in a completely new, interesting, and most of all effective way. I tip my hat off to you!
It's funny that you were able to create this with simple LEGO pieces while the people in japan have spent thousands upon thousands of dollars to make less effective and cruddy "walkers". haha... KUDOZ 2 YAH DOOD
The legs are controlled by moving parts. The movement of the upper body and the leg movement are connected together by axles and gears. The springs just slow down the "fall" of the heavy body.
Stay tune for DINO X-2 in April, the best legobiped ever.
Yes, it does. It's far too heavy to walk any smother. The DINO X-2 that I soon will show on youtube, wobbles far less and lift it's feet higher, walk faster and turn better. Still, the DINO X-1 is a very nice Lego biped. It was tough to build from scratch.
There are many comments on other legorobots of why they don't have laser cannons, so I decide to put them on. They are not functional in real life, but in my imagination this biped has the purpose as a killing machine.
why star wars music

Interesting machine! In particular, I like the turning mechanism. Shifting from one leg to the other is controlled by moving parts or just springs?
