@Shmoe101 Yes. I didn't know that (I've just checked on wiki). Still, Boston isn't very far from Toronto and I believe that most of the songs were from Ian anyways. And the rest of the band may have put their playing style on them which gave a good vibe to their two only albums.

@kenworth1962 Totally agree, except their first album in 1997, but for the rest, Nickelback is just a rock publicity tool to fade the real "rock era" between 1950-2000. Glam rock at its worst should I say. Everything sucks in 2000-2010. It's sad.
