  • Awesome wish they'd come to watertown with godsmack

  • How is all their shit not breaking? like drums skins and strings and fingers etc hahah

  • THIS song.

  • Playing an instrument in the snow has gotta be difficult

  • wasnt that filmed at sunpeaks??

  • Fuck I miss the 90s...more specific, the Canadian Alternative 90s!

  • I miss the '90s everytime I hear "that song!" Pun intended.

  • Music isn't made quite this good anymore.

  • @DeeceJeff Today's generation is cursed with mostly bad music. I feel sorry for the youth growing up idolizing 50 cent, beyonce, and the lower forms like lady gaga, spears, etc...

My generation, early 90's Metallica, Nirvana, Guns and Roses,

  • @itinkle Well said. The new generation of music is the absolute pits

  • They just played an AMAZING live show at the Grey Cup celebrations in Edmonton. Holy crap!

  • I'm watching this and Im so disappointed by this friggid stoic crowd.

I remember BigWreck, and they were good.

But fuggit, Im Canandian and at -20°C we move a little bit even to do the effen Saftey Dance.

This a video of great musicians, surprised to be in front of the death of the mountains.

The video shows the shame, its the wankers who didnt move a bit when good musics was played. Great great music

  • man if i was there id be rocking out man,,,,cold or not

  • I fucking loved 'That song' in high school. Good times!

  • Agreed Fakeplasticme what a great band they were and no justice about Nickelback

  • You should rename this 'Big Wreck plays to a bunch of fucking zombies'.... that's more fitting.

On a side note... it sounds like Thornley is having trouble screaming at the top of his lungs :( I imagine being out in the cold didn't help em. Great song from a great band tho :) thanks for the up!

  • Nickelback sucks!!!!!!

  • @kenworth1962 Definitely, I was a fan of Big Wreck, Our Lady Peace and more canadian stuff. The 90's wouldn't have been the same without them.

  • @sinning1966 Well, I think the only Canadian in Big Wreck is Ian himself. Weren't they from Boston?

  • @Shmoe101 Yes. I didn't know that (I've just checked on wiki). Still, Boston isn't very far from Toronto and I believe that most of the songs were from Ian anyways. And the rest of the band may have put their playing style on them which gave a good vibe to their two only albums.

  • @kenworth1962 Totally agree, except their first album in 1997, but for the rest, Nickelback is just a rock publicity tool to fade the real "rock era" between 1950-2000. Glam rock at its worst should I say. Everything sucks in 2000-2010. It's sad.

    "00" people suck.

  • Tight. Sounds realllllly good live. And yeah; proof positive that there is no God, indeed. These guys just imploded, and that is a damn shame. Loved that first album.

  • I couldn't believe people weren't picking up on them faster when they were around. I absolutely loved this CD and turned on a few friends to it. Again, what a shame, so talented and great songwriters.

  • have you heard their song mistake that nickleback even covered, that song is deep

  • a shame...these guys are effing fsntsstic...

  • Man, I saw them at The Kee to Bala a few years back and they just rocked! It was a great summer night. Up north, in a rare warm Canadian summer night, under the stars, on the water. Good memories.

  • Actually Chad used to open for Big Wreck. Ian gave Chad his start.

  • Broke up with a girl while on deployment and this song saved my life from depression and being upset. I put a thousand miles on a treadmill listening to this album and this song...Thornley Rules and Big Wreck was a great band like Virgos Merlot and then disappears leaving US wanting more!

  • why why why did ya'll break up?

  • I remember watching this live, can't believe that was 12 years ago! Great band.

  • I opened up for these guys in Jackson, MS about 10 years ago. Great people, good music, and treated us like royalty. A pure pleasure, that was....

  • favourite song since i was like 4.

  • i miss big wreck too....i do really love that song.

  • Be cool if Thornley put them on one of their albums, resung of course.

  • You know a band is good, when they can perform live and sound like the cd., most bands these days are fuckin horrible live..

    I miss Big wreck..

  • Man that sounds good. Almost too good to be live, am I missing something here. Where is the original Big Wreck vid though?

    Great, Great, Great song.

  • @PappyHab No man..... You're not missing a thing, dude. They were just THAT GOOD! Does anyone know what happen to Brian's new band?

  • Am "I" missing something here too or is just me that can hear his vocal chords hitting the floor on EVERY chorus! Granted it's winter and he was gassed according to reports, but holy fawk, that was BAD!

    (loved the guitars though!)

  • @funkynelg its not you , they do drop, listen to the mics squeek, and its amazing that everything is any way in tune, due the temperatures.

  • fuckin amazing go thornley go

  • I don't feel this way about most songs-but I always preferred the radio edit of this song to the album version-

    Great song either way...

  • i totally agree with you

  • i totally agree with you, but i cant find a good version of it on youtube anymore

  • i know exactly what you mean, it has a more powerful sound for some reason.

  • What are you talking about? Canadians are the ONLY ones in heaven.

  • Canadians>Americans in every aspect possible.

  • Good sound quality.

  • i heard the soundwaves caused an avalanche and they all died, can somebody confirm this?

  • texas: not true.

  • confirmed. I was there and I died.

  • thanks dude, i will pray for their families

  • jakey that guy got 11 thumbs up and you got nothing. Stop trying to put down Canadians, go get one of your grandpa's guns, and kill your mexican mother then come talk to me ok brah?

  • @brokenbrainz1 so yur the one slightly bobbing his head. Rock on Brotha!!

  • confirmed.

  • God thinks we already live there.

  • Well, If That wasn't The Catchiest Song You've ever heard! I Love that Soooooooong

  • the drummer looks awefully familiar

  • why isnt anybody moving? lame.

  • Man - this is a f***in throwback! I was there... about 20 feet from the stage..

I had on a red toque (that means winter hat for you americans.)

  • oddly enough I do believe they refer to them as toboggans? on the other side of the falls?

  • Thank you so much for sharing this. I love this song. I wish I could see him live some day..

  • Wow he was almost young there.. He's such a wicked musician.. seen him just hammered before and he didn't miss a beat... CAn't wait to see him again tomorrow :)

  • Considering they're playing in winter, amazing vocal performance by Ian. Seriously underrated band. Now if only he hadn't become so fond of acoustic guitars on Thornley's new singles...

  • I love this band. The had some of my favorite songs of all time!! Thanks Guys!!

  • good song

  • how is this not seen more?

  • This band breaks up just as they're starting out, while Nickelback goes on to a long career of fame and fortune.

Further proof there is no god.

  • i know eh.. big wreck was awesome.. just another band that hardly saw the light of day. Sad. I'm so sick of Nickelback too, this is way better.

  • you dudes need to pick up the albums tiny pictures and come again ian's new band THORNELY !!!!!!!!

  • @fakeplasticme i totally holeheartly agree

  • @fakeplasticme Umm without Nickelback and Chad Kroeger Ian Thornley and his band "Thornley" wouldn't be anwhere right now. Real original name, use your own last name, that hasn't been done before Ian Thornley. Don't get me wrong I like some of his work, but still

  • @fakeplasticme lmao so fin true.

  • @fakeplasticme

Doesn't prove anything about God....it just proves most humans have horrible taste in music....maybe Nickelback is proof there is a Devil....

  • @fakeplasticme

    agreed

  • @fakeplasticme yup and this sell ot went to make on so much shit long live big wreck

  • @fakeplasticme ian thornley lives on

  • @fakeplasticme ian thornley rules

  • @fakeplasticme

I wish it were the other way around

  • @fakeplasticme go ''''''''''''''''' yourself nickelback is lame

  • @bassplayabeerdrinka That's what he was saying, you're a dumbass.

  • god! they are good live! im sure kamloops could have got more people then that up to sunpeaks. i remember watching this on muchmusic back in the day.

  • The Glory Days.

THIS song always takes me back. so nostalgic

  • 10 years later ... Ian is playing again in BC for the Whistlers TELUS World Ski and Snowboard Festival in April.

    Good times
