  • when your coming down fom point try to go through demi point and pull up in your core to minimize the sound:D thats what my teacher also tells me

  • ur supposed to be 12 or older to start on point -_-

  • haha funny

  • awwwwww puppy :3

  • That floor is no use for pointework she is sliding about everywhere

  • great and nice

  • i think she has original padding :-

  • to help get the noise out of the shoes take them outside (on a dry day) and bang them on the concrete about 20 times each

  • stop jumping, dont stick out your butt

  • you either tuck your waist in too much or you stick it out, so work on posture

  • dont jump up so much

  • Lol random dog

  • She needs to improve her posture. She's sticking her but out. That's no good for her back.

  • That is the most adorable dog.

  • The concern here should be that you are not holding turnout of the back leg on the plie!!!

  • No. That's not right. Noise shouldn't be there, but it's not always about lack of muscle. Sometimes it's the shoe. Mine and several other girls pointe shoes at my academy are Capezio's, and they make tons and tons of noise when you jump. Same with bouree's.

  • she is jumping en pointe

  • she needs to think about when she comes out of the echappes. my teacher always used to say try and think of going up

  • @SickMyDuck6 thanks for the tip! ;)

  • ahaha awh. my old studio had a studio dog too! ahaha!

  • since wen can you have a puppy in ballet class! but the puppys so cute ^-^

  • since wen can you have a puppy on ballet!

  • the whole time i thought you were going to hit the dog

  • she's sickling :/

  • I remember doing those xD the kicks on pointe they can be brutal the first few times :S

  • how old are you in this

  • she's not ready for pointe. see how she's not on top of the wooden box in her shoes? I would have her in ballet privates until she builds up enough strength for pointe. sorry, but its the truth

  • @EncoreDC2011 pointe shoes are not made of wood - if you have been following the channel you would know she went off pointe for 6 mos and switched studios. =)

  • @mydancetv well there is a wooden box at the end of the shoe so i agree with encoreDC2011

  • @misscupcake48 again, there is not a wooden box at the end of the shoe. Common misconception, but anyone that knows ballet knows the box is not made of wood.

  • @mydancetv well i have been doing ballet for more then 9 years and my point shoes have a wood box at the end so i guess it depens on the shoe

  • @misscupcake48 Although it is hard and shaped like a box, the block is not made of wood. The block is actually formed like paper mache', with layers of fabric, paper and strong glue.

  • @misscupcake48 i took my old shoe apart a few months ago and the box was made of wood but my new ones are not sorry for the misunderstanding

  • @misscupcake48 no biggie- just letting you know =)

  • lol Aw the little doggie <3

  • That dog is adorable! And robbie is so good! I'm 14 and i'm only in grade 5 ballet which is only preparation for pointe and then later on in the year i finally go on pointe:)

  • I love how that dog is just sitting there!

  • @MissShaylouful

i have the Grishko 2007 and they are amazing on my feet

although different shoes are for different kinds of feet so these ones might not be good for you. I got clara in the radio city cristmas spectacular a long time ago and i used these shoes to audition for it. I hope this helps!!! ;)

  • omg look at the dog!

  • Don't look in the mirror too much, because if your spine isn't aligned, your body will turn too, and you won'u be aligned :$

  • Hey Robbie! U have so much talent! ;) talk 2 u on fb or twitter!

  • Anyone knows any good pointe shoes? Im getting my first ones in fall..:) :)

  • i think she needs to improve her arms..:)

  • @MissShaylouful yes ;)

  • how old is she? has she been clara? :)

  • @Msdanceforever97 she is 12 1/2 now and last year she was understudy for clara but we then had to switch studios so... ;( maybe someday she hopes.

  • @mydancetv really? if she already on pionte i would of thought she had. been i was clara when i was 11 but it might just be because i went on pionte at 9 1/2 :) i wish her good luck this Nutcraker, tell me if she is Clara or another big role ;)

  • @Msdanceforever97 I think every studio has different age and size claras. Even though she was put on at 10 they start out really slow . Takes a while to get to the point where you can do a whole variation or role on pointe ;)

  • aww Cami is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO c-u-t-e! <3 :D

  • @lillypadz63 last year she was clara understudy but she switched studios so new studio this year for Nutcracker ;)

  • I had my first pointe lesson yesterday and it HURT! But the next day it was fine!

  • BAILAS MUY BONITO!!!

  • It's so cute how she finishes an exercise, then immediately goes back up en pointe and just walks around a little. It's like she can't stand being on flat feet!

  • Make sure you get your boxes on the floor in second and fifth position. And keep up the great work!

  • Robbie does a nice job getting up on the box!

  • She dances far better than I could ever hope to. :) I'm sorry to be a bother, but if anyone knows the name of the first piano piece, I'd love to know.

  • How old is she? She looks young!

    The dog is beautiful !

  • how old is she?

  • wooooahhh! u sooo good!

  • how long did it take u to go on pointe??

  • aww how cute is she??

  • the pupy that is in the video is a saussage dog!!

  • O_O BAllet = puppies?

  • Indeed yes he is, awww i can imagine him in a cute tutu :3

  • wtf is that puppy doing there? o__O haha to cute

  • @MsAshleelovesyou isn't she the cutest!

  • Robbie! Don't ever try to dance with Gaynor Mindens because they really REALLY hurt the feet and it's like your feet are getting removed. Well, that's just my opinion. But still, dance and dance until you achieve your dreams. GOOD LUCK! :D

  • @Matthewites2010 ouch haha

  • @Matthewites2010 Really? One of my best friends has Gaynors and she says they're the most comfortable pointe shoes ever. And someone else at my dance studio said that too. So perhaps your feet aren't right for Gaynors; but perhaps others have feet right for them. I myself prefer Blochs, but I haven't tried any other shoes.

  • @NealonNews I think I read something about gaynors popping you up onto pointe and they have plastic shank- but if they hurt your feet probably wrong type of shoe for your foot.

  • When she does a plie in 4th she is doing it without aligning her knees and feet (her knees are forward and her feet are not), this is very dangerous and can be the cause of many future injuries.

  • @pirouette4life yes this was a while ago and she did have some knee problems but think it has been fixed or is at least not as bad ;)

  • She needs to work on going completely on the box of the shoe, but for age very good!!!

  • justinefabulous123 i kinda feel the same cos i weigh like eight stone, i have a proper belly that shows through a leotard and my thighs are HUGE so i just spent like 20 quid on gymwear so i can join the junior gym thats near me. i also dont wanna go to the gym without a friend which is really weird but i wanna have a flat tummy, have slimmer legs and do ballet sooooo soooo baaad that ill do it regardless. im 11 too lol! xxx oo

  • Aw that's sooooo good ((: x

  • OMG she's amazing *--*

  • What kind of pointe shoes are you wearing in this video? I really like them.

  • @thepointeshoefairy12 Grishko elite

  • @mydancetv Thank you :)

  • hahahahhaha the dog

  • sweet..!

  • How come i dont see her in any pointe videos anymore?!?!? Is she not doing it?!?!??

Either way she is a great dancer, ill be looking forward to see pointe videos in the future(:

  • @bbygirland1 She was doing it still I just couldn't get video. Not a lot of time but maybe an hour a week ?

  • PLEASE REPLY ( : Okay well um.. i might join ballet in summer and i was wondering do you have to be flexible to join ballet? Like splits or anything im 11 and kinda over weight! Im not that flexible, but can i still join?! And if so what do i do to become kinda flexible

  • @justinefabulous123 Yes of course you can! You can work on your flexibility don't let it stop you from doing ballet ;)

  • @mydancetv THANKS! : ) And what kind of stretches should i do?

  • @justinefabulous123 search youtube for front splits fast ;)

  • @mydancetv Alrighty (: Thanks for answering lol i'll see if i can :D

  • Aww...she's so sweet! :)

  • Just a warning... if she keeps plie-ing on the inside of her foot, she'll get injured when she's older

  • @sopranoballerina2285 i agree she rolls in on her back foot

  • So young!

  • it's not a wood floor this , isn't it ?

  • @angeladnc no I think it is called a marley floor

  • Loud means not using your muscles.? That's not always true.

  • her right foot is much better than the left

  • Bark Bark! :3

  • Oh she Turned 12 in December?? So did I!! whens her Birthday? I turned 12 on the 7th

  • @balletdancer12396 Dec 2 ;)

  • @balletdancer12396 I turned 12 in Dec Too ! Dec 22 !

  • @TheSupergirl15 Gosh almost everyone we know is in December or late Nov! So weird!

  • @balletdancer12396 Yes So weird :D

  • @TheSupergirl15 nah it's not weird, many young dancers have a foot stronger than the other :) just have to work on it to make them close or equal. :D

  • very talented young girl :)

but she needs to bring her feet all the way down

  • watch your portabrea

  • They really love Robbie! :D

  • @Naky1231 :)

  • she's so cute. she reminds me of the little girls en pointe at my studio. they're always up en pointe whether they're dancing or not.

  • i love it when i see her dance

  • wow robbie is sooooooo talented and she has a lovley line, keep up the good work!! :-)

  • @TwilightFreaks00 thx! ;)

  • @primaballerina032498 She will be 12 in Dec- she was 10 1/2 in this video

  • As suggested before, minimizing noise is all about rolling through the feet and using muscle. Going up on pointe is more about working through the entire leg than flexing your ankle. I know you mentioned these are new shoes, and so they're still hard, but there is a lot of space between her platform and the ground. Be careful about not getting up and over the box. I'm very surprised she's doing grande battements en pointe- its too early, she's risking ankle injury.

  • @glamorous3211 all good points- she switched schools and went off pointe for a while - she's back on now ;)

  • @mydancetv Its a little bit of a relief to hear that! I'm not a dance teacher, I dance for Ohio State, but it always seemed like she was taking things a bit too fast. Your latest videos of her in her new studio at the barre show A LOT of improvement! I can tell she loves to dance! My only critique in the new videos (and it shows here) is to keep the shoulders down. Shoulders down, neck up, abdominals engaged. She'll get it. Keep dancing!

  • @glamorous3211 great advice - thanks!!

  • she is a good dancer

  • i cant wait till i get to be in pointe in january

  • so im named after a dog! thanks mom..... lol

  • what did the teacher say .......I hate to tell ya??....

  • @slenalover she said she is doing really good i "have" to tell you.

  • @slenalover oh not sure but if said hate to tell you it was because we were trying to record the mistake so she could watch it back and see what she was doing and she said "watch she won't do it anymore hate to tell ya" or something like that. :)

  • i think if she wants to control her mucles to make less noise she should be looking forward not at the camera.. looking forward would allow her to concintrate a bit more and there for focus her mucles on making less noise..

  • @MusicDiva90 she had a really bad habit of looking around- even with no camera- all over the place LOL she is better now ;)

  • Slide through the floor in echappes and distribute the weight evenly and keep all your toes on the ground to avoid rolling in. Also, keep the knees straight when on pointe, keep the core muscles held, and keep your arms strong. Also, I think the combinations are a little advanced for a beginning pointe student. First, you should work on rolling through the feet, spotting, maintaining turnout, and keeping the feet pointed before attempting chenaes and piques. Just some friendly advice :)

  • What type of shoes are those? Her arches look pretty good, but I know she started recantly but it doesn't look like she's getting on her toes all the way. One word of criticism, Robbie needs to work on her turnout! But I remember one of her first pointe videos, and she has REALLY improved since then. Keep up the great work!

  • her back foot when she goes out rolls in

  • She's only 10! She shouldn't be on pointe yet!!

  • she is not going into demi pointe...

  • my uniform is exactly like hers! except my tights are thicker :(

  • @Pallydog hers are pretty thick so yours must be really thick! ;-)

  • @mydancetv really?! they look really thin!!

  • @Pallydog she usually wears those capezio ones- they look orange when you first buy them. She did used to have some thinner pairs maybe she wore them this day ;)

  • good job! :)

why is there a dog??! :P

  • @TheRhythmicFan That is the teacher's dog , she likes to be in the middle of it all. ;)

  • I love her leotard! Where can I get one?? :)

  • @dancefeetz motion wear store site silk skin princess seam cami I think.

  • what does family scene mean? like a party child or Clara or a guest?

  • @Banapoly yes party child- littlest girl- in this case- :) family scenes vary by studio or company. Littlest girl was a good par there -very happy ;)

  • @mydancetv Cool! i was a party girl in my studio's preformance!! Clara's best friend actually!!! Good for her!

  • Good job keep it up

  • She looks quite young to en pointe.

  • how old is she now? she's doin really good!

  • @carlyheartsdance 11 1/2. Just uploaded an update of the pirouettes ;)

  • @mydancetv I'll have to check it out! (:

  • Good job!

  • @jngwatson Thank you ;)

  • sry, but it looks a bit like her rips are a little bit too open, aren´t they?

Without bad meaning. And I´m not professional, but for me it looks like that :-S

  • @WorkingBallerina Do you mean her hips? Are you referring to turn out? She is supposed to be turned out. Sorry don't know what you mean ;) Sometimes they are not square or aligned but if she had perfect form already she would not need lessons ;)

  • @mydancetv No, in my class we always have to close our RIPS :-P. But maybe it´s different in Robbies class :-S. At least in my school, we have to do that (and it´s very difficult :-P)

  • @WorkingBallerina Oh do you mean her Ribs? Yes she still works on that- it is hard for her because she really likes to arch her back and naturally just sticks them out. Not a fun habit to break.

  • I have a question.. Is robbie's hair straight or curly cuz in this one its straight but the dream montage she has curly :) hehe.. this question is irrelevant btw :D

  • @JustDance2theMUSIC It's straight with some wave- the curly pics are Kyla's hair piece from Nutcracker =)

  • good job and cute dog!

  • ROBBIE IS GETTING SOOOOO GOOD!

Guess what?!?!? I got my pointe shoes! It's been a month or two, but i am getting pretty good! I have Sansha Glorias!

  • @ilovelibertyTYC WOW! Congrats! How exciting =)

  • she is good...

does she train many hours to be like that?>

  • @kamsbffs thanks- right now only about 6 hrs per week with a 1 hr private plus jazz and pilates. Summer workshop will be about 4.5 hrs a day for 4 weeks . =)

  • i LOVE THIS GIRL!!!!

Make sure she gets all the way on her box and tuck her butt in.

  • i LOVE THIS GIRL!!!!

  • i LOVE THIS GIRL!!!!

  • Shes very skilled. The dog is adorable just sitting and observing.lol

  • this is dumb to ask but what are some main requirements for getting onto pointe most of the people my age are on pointe already and im small for my age so my dance teacher thinkes im younger if you awnser my queston thanks

  • @horwselover15 I have a great link for you from the balletfreak website links page. I'll message it to you and post in the comments section for anyone else that wants it. It talks about strong abdominals, back, legs, ankles, feet. Flexibility of feet and instep arch. Pronation and supination of ankles. It is a great article for anyone wondering. For example Robbie's feet were ready but her abdominals and back needed strengthening and still do =)

  • I know this video is kind of old, but I just wanted to tell you how much Robbie has inspired me! These videos make me do to try my best whenever I'm in class, no matter what. Robbie is going to be a great ballerina when she's older :D

  • @razpberrysauce Thank you for the encouragement! So glad you are inspired! That is the goal of this channel. Keep up with the hard work it will pay off. Hopefully new video coming soon =)

  • good work! she needs to work on her arms though, and stop watching in the mirror when she works on the bar.

  • where is that..what studio??

  • @flex8ibility It was california ballet but she is at a dif studio now.

  • BEAULTIFUL!

  • cool

  • how old is she? she's going to be great i have a feeling!

  • Thanks! She is 11 now- still working hard at it ;)
