  • Although it doesn't look much like Marilyn, the costume is indeed from "Some Like it Hot".

  • The painting is of the gorgeous Pauline as Marilyn. It's a wonderful and exhuberant image of herself and her icon as one. Pauline just having a laugh at Pop and herself.

Boty's paintings and collages were about the difficulties of entering a man's world, especially in art.

Her work was overlooked by her male contemporaries which her spoke clearly of feminist issues at the time.

It is not just an aesthetic representation. Bah humbug.

  • its marilyn monroe from the movie 'some like it hot', when she's walking down the platform! it's a feminist statement! :)

  • Is it supposed to be Marilyn Monroe? It looks more like an idealised self-swagger portrait (which in this particular case could involve looking like Marilyn Monroe).
