  • Rocky Colovito. My God how I hated the Tigers for trading him away. I also remember my dad hating them tor trading for him too.

  • Delivery technique an example of how to communcate effectively and clearly.

  • i whould lik the one where he talks about my dad he was a bettendorf police officer and was shot in the line of duty if anyone has heard it please please let me know

  • I miss Paul Harvey...

  • Paul Harvey a radio professional unlike Rush Limbaugh who is a distorted version of the political radio landscape of today.

  • anybody have the car accident/poodle blooper recording -i cant find it so i am posting it...

  • The Cuba story will soon be our story if this liberal regime is not stopped cold in their tracks while they think they have progressive progress

  • @newbutton7 ooooooook rush limbaugh!!!!!!!!! hahahaa

  • Gee, that sounds like politics in the US today. Obama, are you listening?

  • If Lord Haw-Haw had stopped every now and then to shill tinned frankfurters, he'd have sounded like this.

  • You just cannot pass an anti commie statement without calling them a fascist. It's truly amazing how many of you there are out there. And what's worse is you walk around with Che T shirts thinking he was a great person, makes me sick to my stomach thinking our military is protecting your freedoms when you'd just as soon give them away if you could, and probably voting and organizing your best to do it! You must live a crappy life.

  • It is refreshing to hear a news man talk down communism as a failed ideology.

  • I heard Paul every summer since the late '90s, on family road trips to visit my Mammaw in Arkansas.

His voice is, for me, forever inseparable from those flat, flat fields and the long, straight stretch of I-55. It's distinctive cadence carries back vivid memories of backyard barbecues, hot, humid Arkansas summers, truck stops, fast food lunches in service stations, grandmother's cooking, my family's love.

This year, I'm driving alone for the first time.

Good day, Paul. Miss you already.

  • PAUL GOOFED! At 2:00 he talks about Carl Vinson being in the Senate. He was a member of the HOUSE of REPRESENTATIVES, in fact the first person to serve for more than 50 years in the House. A rare gaffe by such a professional.

  • Yeah I was wondering what redistricting had to do with a Senate opening, its the whole state! Now I know.... the rest of the story. lol

  • Mr Harvey, your words about Cuba really strikes me today as Obama and Congress prepare to take us down that same road. They should all be hearded into a room and made to listen to what you just said. You are a legend, a very wise man, RIP, Mr. Harvey, you will be missed but you have earned a place by God's side.

  • Among broadcasters, he was the best of the best.

  • God bless Paul Harvey......It really is interesting to listen to a news broadcast from over 40 years ago....

  • It's a GOOD day for Paul Harvey but a SAD day for us. But I'm glad he is now reunited with his Angel. Although we will miss him, his intellect, his unique commentary and his great optimism. I feel as though I've lost a great friend.

  • Right at 3:24 it sounds EXACTLY like what's happening in America.

  • I'm still pissed that Rocky Calivitto was trade by the Detroit Lions.

  • He said the Tigers, not the Lions.

  • The amount of grammatical errors in the previous comments, are simply astronomical in quantity! Not to mention, Paul Harvey will never see these comments so directing the comments to him, as if he were reading them, is saddeningly ignorant! Sure, I too will miss Paul, but to act as if he still has the ability to read these (and the ability to interpret all the mistakes into English), is no more than ignorant assumptions.

  • your already missed Paul. God bless

  • R.I.P. Paul Harvey 1918-2009 We will all miss you!

  • Probably being about 10 years old in the mid 70's, His stories heard from within my parents old Pontiac AM radio we're gripping. He'd tell a story about a individual and not give you the name of the person until the very end but not before this long pause that would drive you crazy.

Great job Mr. Harvey. You'll be missed.

  • You're a major tool! How can you beak a legend!

  • Just too sophisticated for peons like you.

  • ur boring zapponsalvia

  • I'm 22, and I grew up listening to him in the back of my grandma's car...a sad day, but if we could ALL live to be 90, we would be lucky.

    Good Day, Paul Harvey....

  • I grew up on a Fram every day at lunch you were on. Every time I hear your voice I go back to a wonderfull and better times. Rest in Piece Sir.

  • rip Mr. Harvey, I grew up with you and have always enjoyed your program. you will be missed.

  • Its america's lost but heavens gain

  • Well said about the picture and the words, sir. Thank you, Mr. Harvey, for years of your familiar voice. While I certainly didn't agree with your politics most of the time, I loved to hear the voice that has accompanied me through my life.

Thank you, also, for never fearing to say what you thought. Your integrity will be missed.

My thoughts are with your family and friends.

  • Sorry casper... I don't get that at all from what I heard. He obvoiusly had a lot of compassion for the plight of the Cuban worker. I heard nothing racist.

Paul Harvey... your voice was unmistakable and your passion for broadcasting unwavering. Thank you.

  • RIP Mr. Harvey, radio will never be the same without your trademark voice and delivery.

  • RIP.

  • R.I.P. Mr. Harvey, now you know the REST of the story.....good day!

  • He devised a great format, and wisely stuck with it. His talents for writing and speaking, and his extraordinary diligence, allowed him to become America's preeminent broadcaster.

  • God bless your soul Mr. Harvey the world is now a lesser place without you!!

  • Thank you paul, for all of the times you have shared with us , and may you have a many "rest of the stories" to tell. Bless you all.

  • R.I.P Paul Harvey

  • This broadcast took place when I was 10 days old - but it sounds like it could have been yesterday.

Mr. Harvey, you will be missed. Your passing marks the end of a golden era.

  • I listened to this every day that I could....even when I moved, I found a station that carried his show....he will be missed

  • Paul Harvey died today it is a very sad day. February 28, 2009

  • Wow! He sounds almost the same at 45 as he does at 90!

  • This is from 18 November, 1963 - based on the "today" reference to Carl Vinson's birthday...

  • He's a bit slower on the trigger these days, but he's still the coolest guy in the world.

  • It is amazing how similiar he, and the program, sounds almost 45 years ago!

  • P.A.U.L. H.A.R.V.E.Y. = "Patriotic American Ultimately Leaves Hearers A Radio Voice Enlightening You"

  • whaay paul harvey

thats my name aswell :) :)

  • yes, rest in peace angel

  • Rest in Peace Mrs. Harvey.. Lynn Harvey passed away yesterday.

  • No, he pronounces words the way someone should. You're just part of the generation of mediocrity that can't even communicate correctly anymore.

  • WHOOOOO HOOOOO Exactly !!!

  • He doesn't over-pronounce words...what he does is emphasizes certain words in his newscasts for dramatic effect since he's on radio and one must use their voice to convey emotions and things. His wording, his pauses, the stories he chooses to report and comment on...are all trademarks. If you say he over-pronounces then that's your opinion but i'd rather listen to someone who speaks clearly than listen to someone garble their words or have me going "huh? what did they say?".

  • Would you prefer ebonics?

  • richardbrompton, you must be some sort of a moron. People like you are exactly whats wrong with society today.Paul Harvey is more of a man than you could ever dream of being. I will have a Good Day, because I am a good person...shame on you!!

  • The Tigers traded Colavito for journyman infielder Lumpe and mediocre pitcher Wickersham...typical of their dopey moves back then....

  • I originally typed 11-19-1963, but for some reason, I guess I had a keyboard "malfunction." Thanks for calling it to my attention. I hope the same doesn't occur with THIS message.

  • The SURFSIDE HOTEL FIRE in Atlantic City, New Jersey, happened on Monday, November 18, 1963. And because Paul Harvey mentioned that it occurred "yesterday," it means that this broadcast occurred on Tuesday, November 1, 1963, three days before the assassination of President John Fitzgerald Kennedy (1917-63).

  • Kennedy was assissinated 11/22/62, so three days before would have been 11/19, not 11/1!

  • Glad he's still around...I just wish I could tune into his broadcasts more often than I actually can with my work schedule.

  • Paul Harvey is the best, when it comes to news broadcasting. I still listen to him everyday in south-TEXAS so KEEP YOUR BAD MOUTHING TO YOURSELF....

  • Wow. You are scum.

  • Nice to hear this. It appears to be from Monday, November 18, 1963.
