Oh I have but now after years I remember the songs and dance sequences only. My favourite used to be Zindagee mein kam se kam ek baar hota hai and another fast number Tohree Nazron se hiraniya laage mann maa kanta re....I also loved Baat sab se karo...beautiful lyrics. Although I don't dislike Govinda, I somehow didn't like him in that role. Probably the last work of Naushaad.

thandav is one aspect of bharatnatyam dance...bharatnatyam is a fire element dance & it represnt both feminine & masculine quality...the feminine quality is called lyasa (for feminine grace & movements) and the masculine quality is the thandav (masculine agility )

tandav is basically lord shiva's dance. in the scirptures lord shiva performs tandav during the destruction of the universe with immense outrage.

Goes back to the mythology of Siva and his wife Sati. I will explain it in short version. Sati's father invited everybody to join a grand party but not Siva because he was an ascetic. Sati got soooo insulted that she killed herself by burning her (hence the ritual of Sati). Siva became so mad that first he killed the father and then started dancing. Through the thumping of his feet the world came to a destruction until of couse he was pleaded to stop by other Gods.

I think the reason she was never at the top is because of a lack of connection to her acting. After all, the point of movies is to act...and dancing is only secondary. Considering, Madhuri and Sridevi are above average dancers and superb actors, they won the #1 spot! Also Sridevi and Madhuri are WAY more beautiful...not to say Meenakshi is not pretty, she IS!

However, I do think she is probably the better dancer. This performance is amazing!

Love this Tandav piece from "Damini". This film was so entertaining and this dancing just absolutely breathtaking. Meenakshi is such an amazing dancer who has such precision and coordination while dancing. I'm a huge fan of her and I consider her to be one of the best dancers of all times, taking into consideration all of the other greats such as Hema, Asha Parekh, Vyjayanthimala, Padmini, etc.

Meenakshi is such a sweetheart and a great actress.
