Entropy wouldn't swiftly take over Earth if the Sun weren't there. You would have to encase the Earth with a perfectly insulated (thermally) and large "shield" for this to happen. Note I'm not saying life wouldn't die, I'm just saying we wouldn't reach thermal equlibium with regards to the 2nd law.
Creationism and evolution could be one in the same. The only difference is time. Technically, evolution to the point of Adam and Eve in our time/space dimension may seem long but in the bible it states God is in a dimension of no time. So creation (his time or lack of) and evolution (our time). Adaptation is different from evolution. Adaptation can explain different races and even species within a closed system based on regions, climate, diet etc.
@Rystefn Thanks for correcting my grammar-do it make you feel superior?
Can you add on a more intellectual level? Einstein quotes "I see a clock but yet cannot comprehend the clockmaker". I think he has more credibility than most some cynical athiest. Darwin even stated his theory has flaws (aka the cambrian explosion and a different species hatching from an egg than what laid it.
@fulcrum66 No, my superiority makes me feel superior. Einstein was a strong atheist and neither quote-mining nor cherry-picking will change that. Darwin answered the flaws he saw in his theory, and science has answered many of the ones he didn't see since then. More to the point, though, argument from authority only carries weight to the dogmatic (like theists). The only argument that carries weight with me is argument from reality. In the real world, evolution is true and all gods are lies.
Its reall simple, living cells are self replicating, but they dont always copy themselves perfectly, these random genetic mutations are naturaly selected and favour those that adapted through this process to the ever changing enviroment the best.
how in the world do chapters 1 and 2 contradict each other?!? chapter 2 is a continuation of how God created the earth. and if you think evolution and the big bang theory is real then where did the explosion come from to bring about the attoms and molecules that we happened to evolve from? how did it happen?
One says man was created before animals and the otehr says animals were created before man.
Oh, and if you think the Big Bang was an explosion that started evolution, you don't understand either of them... but I suspect that you're willfully ignorant in this, since 30 seconds on Wikipedia would answer that for you.
the first chapter talks about how God created the earth, the heavens, the skies, the animals. chapter two talks about how he created man, Adam, then brought the animals to Adam so that Adam could name them and classify them.
would you mind explaining to me what the big bang theory is then?
Genesis 1 says that the sea creatures and birds were made on the fifth day, and beasts of the lands were made on the sixth day, and after that he made humans, male and female.
Genesis 2 says that on the seventh day he rested, then after that (2:7) he makes man, then after that (2:19) he makes animals and birds, then after THAT (2:22), he finally makes woman.
Oh, and I already made a video about the Big Bang.
@MsEmmers17 God said Let there be light, that was the big bang, proposed by Stephen Hawkings who was then recognized by the Pope for supporting the teachings of Genesis. Stephen Hawkings was a bonofide agnostic. The Pope further suggested he stop there.
ok, well i'm not sure why that is, but i can find out. i talked to my youth pastor about that fact and he said that he'd get back to me. i have a quick question though: how much of a difference does that little fact make about what Jesus did for us, for the world?
It calls into question everything in the Bible, doesn't it? If one thing is wrong, something else can be wrong.
As far as Jesus goes, since we've established that we can't just take the Bible as fact on its own, how do we know Jesus ever did anything for us? Or even existed at all?
@Rystefn Your comment, how do we know Jesus existed, he is recognized by Islam as a prophet and he is referred to in their teachings, but as a prophet. You may reject Christianity, your choice, but no reason to be naive, historical records from many diverse cultures refer to Jesus, including Hebrew and Islam.
Name one contemporary historical account of Jesus. You have only recognition of a few sects of the Abrahamic faith. All of those works are verifiably historically wrong, so their veracity cannot be relied upon. Try again.
I challenged your comment about the existence of Jesus, not who you think he was. I have Islamic friends from different countries. My early information comes from them and later verified thru other sources, other scholars. Of course if you want to believe a conspiracy theory that Jesus never existed, then you too are a child of faith because you have no evidence he did not exist, you choose to believe something you cannot verify, that is faith. The Dead Sea Scrolls confirm Jesus. Try again
There is no evidence that Abbacoombo of Jibbledip never existed, therefore, he was a historical leprochaun who lived from 354 BCE to 1987 and farted rainbows for your sins. You should give me 10% of your money. Sorry, but the burden of proof lies on the side making a positive claim. I do not choose to believe there was no Jesus, I simply demand proof before believing he did.
Dead Sea Scrolls do not confirm nor even mention Jesus, and in fact, predate his supposed existence. Sorry.
Interesting, I have provided you with verifiable anecdotal responses and you persist with flat out denial without offering any substantiation. You could speak with a Rabbi, but he would be wrong, you could confer with the Muslim community, but of course Hundreds of Millions of Muslims, must be deluded, the Dead Sea Scrolls don't mention Jesus, although the Vatican disputes that and other research available on the web, you could confer with Universities, but what do they know? Faith..
@SiriuslyEz - You are correct in the fact that there are other writings that mention 'jesus' or refer to this man by name. However, this fact must rely on the credibility of the writer, and the authenticity of the document itself. This we can ponder and squabble about until the day we die. The reality is, to be blunt, who cares? Brush your teeth, go to bed, wake up, go to work, come home, eat...rinse and repeat. When will people realize that we are already in hell, make the most of it! lol
Your views on religion, to me are irrelevant, I like you anyway, even though you state on your channel you are not a nice person. Don't care. Have a nice day.
@Rystefn - I think what MsEmmers meant is, what 'affect' his presence had on humanity since his existence. You make a good point in 'questioning' that he ever existed, but I think we can be fairly certain that a man named jesus 'probably' existed. To answer her question..the affect was good in some ways: Human moral 'laws' gave rise to a moral order. However, religion was bad by its suppression of science and truth that seemed to threaten the base of society that gave it moral balance.
@MsEmmers17 If you beleive in God, you don't need any other answer than he did that. If you don't beleive in God, then you must look to Science. At the beginning of time the entire universe we know was contained in a single point, a blackhole. Recent studies indicate how such a blackhole could explode into a big bang, in fact, how any blackhole could, under specific conditions, explode by the gradual collection of free electrons passing through their event horizon.
i believe in God with all of my heart. there is nothing in this world that could make me doubt Him or His existence. now if a blackhole did explode which made everything appear, including all the planets, every single galaxy and star in the universe, all the animals here on earth, every single bone in our body, every cell that does a specific task, how could that be? could a simple yet large explosion of a blackhole make life and everything we see and know appear?
Hello my sister, so do I, I beleive God created the Universe and the physical laws that govern it. But I do not accept that science contradicts God. Quite the opposite. God created the Universe and the physical laws that the Universe obeys according to God's will. Evolution is irrelevant. Go back to Job, or review Isaiah, who can understand God? Ecclesiates, meaningless meaningless meaningless. Fear the Lord.
@MsEmmers17 They don't is the short answer. When you read the scriptures you need to keep in mind to whom they were originally intended and for that you have to transport your imagination back in time and try to understand the audience of that day and their perspective. Also remember the old testaments are extracts from the Torah. The original Christians were converted from Judaism. The New Testaments are rarely challenged, Non Christians love to poke at the old Testament without comprehension.
Creationists are SO STUPID grrr it makes me want to hurt something.
However, it could be that unless you specify how they contradict each other, they can attack you for it.
Now I'm curious as well. How does it contradict, because having burnt the Gideon's bible I got for free about 4 years ago, I'm not in a good position to find out.
(May have been answered further down, but I haven't read all the comments).
Sorry, I forgot to include an intelligent response to your video! Maybe I would respond a little less with my dick if there wasn't a hot naked chick on the image link to this video.
Okay Rystefn, I will make a logical response to this video. You made your opponent look like a backwoods tard with your knowledge of science and facts. I love seeing these freaks get pawned whenever they are faced with facts. And yeah, that sort of thing does impress the ladies: it's true, it's damn true!
Well, if it works for you, then far be it from me to say anything against it. I don't hold the women in question in particularly high regard, but that's really none of my concern.
Nice response. I see only one error, and that is your statement about Constantine and Nicaea in 325. The Bible was not canonized until the Council of Trent in 1546. The council of 325 spawned the Nicene Creed but had nothing directly to do with the canon, which coalesced and changed somewhat between sects over a period of centuries.
Seriously: by talking of the perfection of the human body the Jesus freak meant that it is PERFECTLY ADAPTED to the Earth environment. This can hardly be questioned, it is not very helpful to point out that a tiger's is stronger and faster. The guy just doesn't understand that this doesn't prove creationism at all.
Voltaire once stated (ironically, of course) that the nose is PERFECTLY ADAPTED to the glasses, so it must have been designed by God for exactly thios purpose. I bet ppl like Jezuzfreek would think this to be a valid argument...
Creation: tricky word, implies a finished product. Energy is constant, the states of excitation it can be: temporal, the interactions endless. It has, is and will continue to change.
We cannot claim to create. It is actually nature that "creates" As we are just a representation of natural forces at work.
It goes far beyond reproduction. It goes far beyond organic. It applies to all. Everything is temporal, interacting and therefore changing continuously.
True, but I wasn't making a sweeping comment about the scope of your definition, merely agreeing with your original statement. Yes, by that definition, evolution is creation happening.
My personal favorite piece of stupid design in the human body is mitochondrial DNA. No matter what you think about the design of the rest of the body, putting DNA into the cells high energy reactor is just _not_ a good idea.
No, no... I didn't say that. I was quoting directly from the video he was using as his evidence that the Bing Bang was fake. Sorry if I didn't make that clear.
