  • This isnt gaming - this is chatting.

  • I'm not saying that MMOs like WoW are on the way to destruction, but don't you think the other ones like Second Life are taking this sort of stuff way too far?

I mean real life is time consuming as it is, and if you've seen this whole series so far, video games are perceived by many to be a form of artistic expression and social commentary. Second Life is much more about individual escapism... I think there are things to be learned from this phenomena, but the future of gaming? Count me out!

  • @radicalgarbage02 I would rather call this a messed up chat room than a game.

    Totally agree with ya. :)

  • Wow, I never knew that online games went this far. Talk about too much time on your hands. It's scary.

  • It kinda seems like a dream job though. Making six-figures to create virtual worlds in your spare time. To the pathetic losers who actually pay for this crap though... what a waste of space.

  • Hahaha!

But you have to admit this is some really intense stuff. To be honest I don't think I could spend this much time gaming. Can anyone explain that whole deal about "virtual" money. I hear about this a lot. Didn't know that you could sell a character or funds from an online game. Would like to understand how this works.

  • Quite simple. Someone creates something or someone in the game. They then post the content on ebay and someone bids on it like they would anything else. The character/mansion is then transferred to the payee's game account.

  • Ahhh!! I see. That is crazy. But again I guess you have to be in it to get it. And I've heard people could make big bucks on it too. Which is the reason they do it. But again talk about commitment. Thanks for the info.

  • You can also sell virtual (in-game) gold and currency for real money. Like, a person has 10,000 gold pieces in EverQuest and then sells it all on EBay for 1000 USD to some assclown who uses the gold to purchase concubines; cuz he can't get pussy in the real world.

  • LOL! But isn't that somewhat illegal to an extent selling virtual money?

  • No it isn't. Most companies condone it.

  • Interesting. Thanks for that info.

  • You're welcome. Look up stuff on laissez-faire capitalist ideology if you want to know more. Knowledge is power!

  • Word up!

Yeah I'll check that out. Always good to know. Thanks again. :)

  • Way too much emphasis on role playing games. In reality, WOW and Guild Wars are the only popular ones that are in the top ten.

  • top ten of what list?

  • Most played games online.

  • Holy crap...buying and selling virtual property for real money...talk about mind-blowing.

  • it's the future it's my generation's way

  • and mine

its crazy how much people make/spend

im a make money kinda person lol
