I'd love to see these two play against each other in a major now :) it would be an awesome match! although it would be a final or semi final and not the second round :L
LoL you people will be shocked to see what venus and serena will do on tour this year...all I am saying is get ready, the book isn't near the last page yet!
I believe that if these two play at this years Aussie Open and Serena is healthy enough and can play like herself this would be an interesting Serve and Forehand match for both of them only thing is Serena can move better then Kvitova.
just like everyone has said, it'd be interesting to see the two play each other at this coming AO, but petra wouldn't have as many chances as her band wagoners claim to have, if serena is playing her best level.
PS: since when petra has developed her barking technique, though? she wasn't doing it here *shrugs*
@kelvinpyaeko i think her shriek's always been with her :L she did it when she beat Safina in 2009 US open. When you're losing a match 6-2 6-1, I guess it's difficult to fire yourself up enough to shout when you win points :L she only seems to do it on important points
I hope both of these 2 are healthy this year and play each other at some point. Hopefully the Wimbledon final. Serena is the better player, by a pretty good margin, in my opinion. She can move much better and she is way more consistent than Kvitova
Jesus, some Tennis lovers are the most obsessed, nastiest pieces of works in any sport around! and its almost a white versus black competition with anything related to the Willliams sisters.......I think some ppl should get a life personally !
SERENA DETASTES WANNABES like wozi, vika, petra, she's a combined 11-1 against these wannabes...pple are likely to beat Serena are venus, clijsters, stosur, vera or li na
@trent6149 ...no you DIDN'T squeeze Vera in that group!
I mean I like Vera, but let's face it....the two times she beat Serena were this year in Eastbourne (Serena's 2nd match in a YEAR), and Cincinnati 2006 (Serena's 3rd match in about 6 months).
Long story short, you can't call Wozniacki, Azarenka, & Kvitova wannabes and then put Zvonareva in the same conversation with Clijsters, Stosur, and Li...
PETRA'S GOT GAME but very inconsistent...she will BE UPSET IN AUSSIE2012 , french open , wimbledon & us open however will win lower tier events to keep herself in top ten.
@trent6149 I don't like her...that's obvious...but you can't think she has that much game if you think she's going to be upset in all 4 GS in 2012...that's a nearly impossible scenario in 2012...She will back up her Wimbledon win...I just don't see a legend in the making, and many are claiming this already.
I guess it's fun to try and predict things early, but Kvitova fans may have missed the mark a little on this one...but YOU'VE missed it by a mile.
@trent6149 i think shes abit more mentally stronger now than what she was in the past, shes proved it many times this year, yeah sure she might be a little inconsistent but its no where near like it used to be, winning wimbledon, the year end champs and helping her country to the fed cup. i think she will be number 1 next year.
@idontsignin think?...she only needs like...150 points LOL....on CAROLINE!
Yeah she won Brisbane last year, so she will lose a few points for avoiding the tournament this year, but Caroline has all those AO points to defend....either Kvitova or Azarenka will be no. 1 after the AO is over.
@Sessylius oh and the sisters have 10 since then, but I get your point lol.
I just feel that most people forget (or choose to disregard) the fact that it was just over a year ago that Serena and Venus were 1 & 2...and the only thing that led to their decline was their bodies.
I feel that most people believe that they (especially Venus) cannot fully bounce back from their ailments...because of age or whatever.
Always with that 30+ crap...Venus reached no. 2 AFTER she turned 30.
@Sessylius Most of the tennis world has written them (and a couple others) off, and most of the people that have done this are indeed the ones who overhype Kvitova.
This is not to imply that she won't back up her success, because that would be just as premature of me...you just won't see me tooting her (or anyone else's) horn until that person shows he/she belongs to stay in the conversation, not just get there.
The good thing for Petra is that she is peaking in an error where the great champs are on the descending end of their careers (Venus, Serena, Maria, Kim)....I think she could improve a few things to make her a great champ....
She isn't that quick around the court--but her ball striking abilities are superb...
@ARZ1987 But it is not Petra's fault she is 21 years old remember she is young. Tennis is a cycle and the old players will retire next year such as Venus, Serena, and Clijsters. I can't see them hanging around much long. Sharapova is only 24 but I think she will retire within the next two years as well. Petra has the weapons to take over women's tennis huge lefty serve is an advantage. She also volleys well and moves well for a tall woman. The Wimbledon victory confirmed she is for real.
@JordanjamesX LOL Why does everyone seem to think she moves well...even for being tall?
Better yet...how can anyone tell that she moves well when she's too busy blasting people off the court?...someone has to get her on the defense more often in order to make that assessment.
And everyone keeps saying she's young she can still improve...she has more than likely hit the peak of her movement.
And why would the "old" players quit if they continue to win?...they've been written off too soon.
I think Petra is a more talented player. If she plays like she played in Wimbly and in the championships, she can win against Serena. And note that her play is getting better day by day.
@sagaeddatyrullr yes she is one of a few women who can compete with serena in the talent level but mentally serena imo still wins that battle kvitova has showed us she cud do it against everyone else but....serena
@wozniacki15 I don't even put alot of stock into that 3-set win over Venus in 2008 (it was on what is proving to be Kvitova's best surface...indoors...and it was Venus' 1st tournament in months)....especially now that Sjogren's has proven to be the main reason (if not only) that Venus' play has been so inconsistent and/or non-existent in the past 5 or 6 years.
@QuadThreat85 but in 2008 kvitova was a nobody at that tournament and it wasnt venus's first in months she played in AO in january and memphis was in february she just got beat
@wozniacki15 but she hadn't played since October of 07 when she played the Aussie...and she normally plays 2 or three tournaments between the Aussie and Memphis, which she did not do that year because of her knee.
That was the win that put Kvitova on the map for sure, but she was already touted as a dangerous player on fast courts then.
@QuadThreat85 still a loss is a loss and kvitova wasnt even thought as a dangerous player until she beat venus there. if they do meet again it will be exciting to watch
@wozniacki15 yeah yeah everyone says that. I guess I was trying to also say that knowing what we know now, Kvitova is not someone any big star should have to face in the 2nd round of a tournament when you haven't really played lately. I think Kvitova got the the semis or the final that tournament as well....losing to Sharapova (who was veyy much in-form at the time)
@QuadThreat85 But the point is Kvitova beat Venus when she was only eighteen years old and wasn't even ranked in the top 100. It is not Kvitova's fault Venus was rusty the girl beat her fair and square.
@JordanjamesX Ranking clearly means little in today's game more often that not...I wasn't trying to lessen the victory for Kvitova, but moreso trying to state that her ability was way better than her ranking...even then.
That combined with the fact that Venus' knee was iffy for those few months, and the fact that it was Kvitova's favorite surface, AND the fact that she went onto the semifinals only to lose to an in-form Sharapova.
@QuadThreat Where the hell did the rest of my response go?!
Anyway, all that combined adds up to that loss not being anywhere near as big of a shock as everyone said it was...a shock by ranking only.
Also note that legends tend to get their first "big win" before age 18, so she was a little late in that regard (considering the fact that most people seem to think she's going to legendary places).
Long story short, I think she's pretty damn good, but not a legend-to-be.
She's going to have to get a win against Serena first before I can think such things. Until then, that's all just speculations and hope. Serena will always be better. Always.
The 1st and 2nd Rounds are when Serena is most vulnerable, in my opinion. The fact that Kvitova STILL got a beatdown while Serena was hindered by injuries and this being a second round match is just....hilarious to me. It's easier to snatch someone when they aren't HUNTING you. Kvitova is now the hunted, people are going to be looking to take her out, like they do with Serena. Should be an interesting 2012.
@MrProdigy555 It will be fun seeing how she handles it when people start to read her lefty game, and therefore further expose her weaknesses. She snuck up on the tour the past 1.5-2 years, that's for sure lol.
I just pray there are alot of matches coming up against players who can thump her, because without them there's only a handful of girls who can stick with her right now (given the fact that most courts are fast):
Petkovic, Azarenka, Lisicki (injury-free), & Sharapova (WITH a serve).
@MrProdigy555 Maybe an in-form Bartoli on the fastest courts...throw clay in the mix, and then that opens the door a little more for a FEW more players (Stosur comes to mind first...then maybe Radwanska)
But seriously considering the fact that these other girls would need at least another year of playing against Kvitova to start to understand the way she plays the court, it is even more imperative that team Williams & Clijsters come out in full force next year.
@QuadThreat85 I agree. That makes it more impressive to me that Serena has been able to thump her...easily. Playing lefties is NOT fun...I personally can't stand it. haha. The spin and angles are so different. So...I still find it impressive. Petkovic too. Back to back beatdown of KvittyGoat. lol. I"m just looking forward to next year! I'm so ready.
@MrProdigy555 I know LOL...I've only played one! And I realized EARLY ON that my down-the-line shots needed to improve in order for me to handle him...when you're a righty and used to most of your shots going crosscourt, that plays right into a lefty's hands....UNFORTUNATELY lol.
@QuadThreat85 Haha. The groundstrokes were strange, but I adapted. The SERVE....the spin on the serve. My God. It frustrated the hell out of me. haha. But lefties, grr. Even The GOAT (Federer) still hasn't figured it out. (Nadal) haha. It happens.
@MrProdigy555 Yes...and Nadal is worse because he's not a natural lefty...that's the last thing we need is factory-produced lefties running around all over the place!...those fucking bitches LMAO.
But for me, I found that as soon as I was able to realize how easily their crosscourt forehands can (and WILL) pull you way out to the left on your backhand, I was in the game. He basically has to exclusively play my forehand until I'm way off to the right before he can pull the trigger LOL
@QuadThreat85 Yeah, being a lefty does give you an innate advantage. It just does. haha. And yeah, I try to dictate with my forehand when I play lefties, even though my backhand is pretty strong and steady. I rather control the points with the forehand though.
@MrProdigy555 Yeah...but for some reason with me, my backhand handles the different spins that come off an opponent's racket MUCH better than my forehand. MY backhand chews up basically whatever is thrown at it and spits it right back out....and when I was just starting out, most would have guessed (including me) that my forehand would be the steadier shot...NOT.
My forehand seems most easily used to set up backhand winners...I know that sounds odd (for a guy especially).
@QuadThreat85 Haha yeah, that is kinda strange. :P When I was 17, I relied on my backhand A LOT...that was my shot. So I know what you're talking about. I love the crosscourt backhand when I'm pulled off the court. ATTACK! haha.
@MrProdigy555 lol basically!....but now that I'm thinking about it, maybe it was the change of my competition pool -_-
when I was in Ohio, I didn't have to deal with really any players who used alot of spin on the ball...then when I came down here to Georgia, all my hitting partners are like all OFFENSIVE slice and topspin...almost never flat shots....looks like I need to drill low, BITING shots coming to my forehand!...annoying.
As soon as people get used to the fact that she is a lefty with power, you wlll see more scorelines like this from Kvitova.
If you stick the racket in her right hand, what's so special about her?...nothing.
She may have raw power and timing, but the top players who do not have these elements in the raw have been able to show DEVELOPED power and timing, which is just as good.
Now, let's see if Kvitova can develop what SHE lacks....doubt it immensely.
It goes on how much you know about tennis, Maria got her non existent ass handed to her in that Wimbledon final. Kvitova will back it up, Maria's best days are behind her. She's the joke.
I'm really curious to see how Kvitova develops. She's insanely powerful and when she's playing well, she can beat anybody. Didn't do well at the US, which was kind of an expected slump after winning Wimbledon, but still... I expect great things from her.
when i first saw Kit at wimbledon 2010, she really gave serena a run. I think the only reason she lost was bc she DIDN'T belive that she could actually win. Now that she is the champ that confidence will take her to a whole new level of confidence.
@Trent689 Serena is 7-2 against Clijsters, what are u talkin about!!!! (I MEAN 7-2, isn't this being owned??) The woman's the most dominant force in tennis RIGHT NOW. Look at how women's tennis got fucked up when Serena was injured, she's back, all over sudden evrythin in order.
@minging697 lol threat? didn't she lose 6-2 6-1...i think Petra's game is absolutely amazing and she will win more GS in the future but she needs to not go into slumps like she doing now after winning a GS.
I agree with you guys, but the best players at present have a losing record against Serena in the Grand Slams. Dementieva (R), Li Na, Azarenka, Vera, Kvitova, Wozniacki, Sharapova, Jankovic, Venus. Except Clijsters (but we don't know what would've happened if that horrible call wasn't made against Serena at US Open). Until they beat Serena SQUARELY AT A SLAM without any controversies, then SERENA'S STILL THE QUEEN.
i wanna see petra against venus... we all know serena is unstoppable when shes playin her A game blah blah blah but venus.. not so much. im a little unsure as to who would win in a petra vs venus williams match hopefully theyll meet in toronto
FOLKS TENNIS BEGINS WITH THE SERVE, SO GOES YOUR GAME. if a rivalry develops between these 2, it will come down to the serve. ....and you know who has the greatest serve of all time in women's tennis.
Whoa. Petra played well here. And she still got smoked. That is scary. But I don't think I've ever seen someone hit the ball as hard and clean as Petra since Davenport.
@snortincoke even in this form serena wasnt her best... her positioning on those shots were bad but shes a fighter, based on serena's physical look now, she looks so MUCH better if the wtt pics and vids are to go by, i think we are seeing the serena that won the french in 02, now lets hope her return is back on fire coz thats what let her down at wimby.
Kvitiova should thank Sharapova for the gift of Wimbledon 2011, 'cause Serena would have mopped her ass. Until she meets and beats Serena in a final she's not gonna feel comfortable playing her. Serena's a monster when her serve's on.
@Trent689 Ummm... they played the year before and Serena didn't "mop her ass" there. Kvitova has improved so much since last year's Wimbledon. They could have a great rivalry at Wimbledon over the next couple of years.
@TatianasWorld i think serena has a physical advantage in terms of her how she moves to the ball than petra... but petra definitely hits the ball hard and shows great fight.
@TatianasWorld I don't think Kvitova has improved that much since Wimbledon 2010, just her work has payed off because she was in great shape in this video AND she was striking the ball well...Serena just debilitated her here.
Kvitova will have a hard beating Serena because a few streaky points by Kvitova, will let Serena in and Serena will take contro on the match, plus Serena's serve can be intimidating for Kvitova..... I hope Serena beats her everytime for the sake of Martina Naratilova running her mouth!
@Top10TennisNetwork Serena will have to be back to a comfortable form to get through a girl like Kvitova. I cant wait to see her game get back to this level. I trust it will happen. With some luck, by the US OPEN!!
@jshaoful For sure. I get ridiculously plastered and then write hilarious comments on youtube videos. It has nothing to do with that fact that Kvitova is the better tennis player.
@jshaoful You don't have to be an ignorant asshole. Kvitova's career is just now taking off. OBVIOUSLY SHE ONLY HAS ONE MAJOR. That's like comparing Serena when she was 12, to Schiavone when she's 30 and saying Schiavone is better cuz she had more majors when she was 30 than Serena did when she was 12. That logic is absolutely ludicrous.
@Top10TennisNetwork to say kvitova is better than serena maybe u should post this kind of comment on video where serena lost to kvitova.but wait...kvitova never won against serena.so no wonder i see u comment here HAHAHA dahltennis
@jshaoful And all you've got here is a 20% Kvitova facing a 70% Serena to go off of. Kvitova hasn't even reached her full potential yet and I believe that Petra at her best (which we have yet to see) is better than Serena. Both phenomenal champions but I think Kvitova has got more variety and style.
@Top10TennisNetwork I don't think your comment is fair. Kvitova was very young here and Serena was in top form. We have to wait and see how Kvitova develops she's only won one slam so far. Kvitova had a breakthrough year in 2011 BUT she NEEDS to win more slams to PROVE she's the real deal. Great champions win tons of slams not just one.
@JordanjamesX wow...it's a bold statement for anyone to say Serena's in top form while she has two wrappings on her legs, but whatever...I guess I just think this comment is wrong on all levels....there is very little difference between Kvitova now and Kvitova in this match....maybe she's lost about 5 pounds, but that's about it.
@Top10TennisNetwork I disagree. Serena at her very best is seriously untouchable on the WTA. Her shot making and technique is unbelievable, combined with her movement and her remarkable mentality.
@itsjonkuo I can respect that. I just personally think Kvitova has a ridiculous amount of potential and she's finally starting to live up to it. If those 2 were the play again (assuming Petra isn't in an awful slump), I think it'd be a treat no matter who the winner was.
@Top10TennisNetwork Agreed. I totally respect Kvitova, I love how she proved herself at the YEC, and yes I don't understand her random losses like at the US open. But yeah Serena and Kvitova are the only consistent champion-like players at the moment. I think Sharapova COULD be if she wasn't so tense and spotty. I also had great hopes for Li Na as she was incredible earlier this year, but is also suffering confidence issues.. What do you think?
@itsjonkuo Yeah it's definitely a shame that Li has had such a tough time since winning Roland Garros... I do hope she can find her confidence/form again though, because that would really make things interesting at the top and I think she and Petra could have an awesome rivalry.
I'd love to see these two play against each other in a major now :) it would be an awesome match! although it would be a final or semi final and not the second round :L

It's easier to snatch someone when they aren't HUNTING you. Kvitova is now the hunted, people are going to be looking to take her out, like they do with Serena. Should be an interesting 2012.
MrProdigy555 3 months ago
@MrProdigy555 It will be fun seeing how she handles it when people start to read her lefty game, and therefore further expose her weaknesses. She snuck up on the tour the past 1.5-2 years, that's for sure lol.
I just pray there are alot of matches coming up against players who can thump her, because without them there's only a handful of girls who can stick with her right now (given the fact that most courts are fast):
Petkovic, Azarenka, Lisicki (injury-free), & Sharapova (WITH a serve).
QuadThreat85 3 months ago
@MrProdigy555 Maybe an in-form Bartoli on the fastest courts...throw clay in the mix, and then that opens the door a little more for a FEW more players (Stosur comes to mind first...then maybe Radwanska)
But seriously considering the fact that these other girls would need at least another year of playing against Kvitova to start to understand the way she plays the court, it is even more imperative that team Williams & Clijsters come out in full force next year.
QuadThreat85 3 months ago
@QuadThreat85 I agree. That makes it more impressive to me that Serena has been able to thump her...easily. Playing lefties is NOT fun...I personally can't stand it. haha. The spin and angles are so different. So...I still find it impressive. Petkovic too. Back to back beatdown of KvittyGoat. lol. I"m just looking forward to next year! I'm so ready.
MrProdigy555 3 months ago
@MrProdigy555 I know LOL...I've only played one! And I realized EARLY ON that my down-the-line shots needed to improve in order for me to handle him...when you're a righty and used to most of your shots going crosscourt, that plays right into a lefty's hands....UNFORTUNATELY lol.
QuadThreat85 3 months ago
@QuadThreat85 Haha. The groundstrokes were strange, but I adapted. The SERVE....the spin on the serve. My God. It frustrated the hell out of me. haha. But lefties, grr. Even The GOAT (Federer) still hasn't figured it out. (Nadal) haha. It happens.
MrProdigy555 3 months ago
@MrProdigy555 Yes...and Nadal is worse because he's not a natural lefty...that's the last thing we need is factory-produced lefties running around all over the place!...those fucking bitches LMAO.
But for me, I found that as soon as I was able to realize how easily their crosscourt forehands can (and WILL) pull you way out to the left on your backhand, I was in the game. He basically has to exclusively play my forehand until I'm way off to the right before he can pull the trigger LOL
QuadThreat85 3 months ago
@QuadThreat85 Yeah, being a lefty does give you an innate advantage. It just does. haha. And yeah, I try to dictate with my forehand when I play lefties, even though my backhand is pretty strong and steady. I rather control the points with the forehand though.
MrProdigy555 3 months ago
@MrProdigy555 Yeah...but for some reason with me, my backhand handles the different spins that come off an opponent's racket MUCH better than my forehand. MY backhand chews up basically whatever is thrown at it and spits it right back out....and when I was just starting out, most would have guessed (including me) that my forehand would be the steadier shot...NOT.
My forehand seems most easily used to set up backhand winners...I know that sounds odd (for a guy especially).
QuadThreat85 3 months ago
@QuadThreat85 Haha yeah, that is kinda strange. :P When I was 17, I relied on my backhand A LOT...that was my shot. So I know what you're talking about. I love the crosscourt backhand when I'm pulled off the court. ATTACK! haha.
MrProdigy555 3 months ago
@MrProdigy555 lol basically!....but now that I'm thinking about it, maybe it was the change of my competition pool -_-
when I was in Ohio, I didn't have to deal with really any players who used alot of spin on the ball...then when I came down here to Georgia, all my hitting partners are like all OFFENSIVE slice and topspin...almost never flat shots....looks like I need to drill low, BITING shots coming to my forehand!...annoying.
QuadThreat85 3 months ago
As soon as people get used to the fact that she is a lefty with power, you wlll see more scorelines like this from Kvitova.
If you stick the racket in her right hand, what's so special about her?...nothing.
She may have raw power and timing, but the top players who do not have these elements in the raw have been able to show DEVELOPED power and timing, which is just as good.
Now, let's see if Kvitova can develop what SHE lacks....doubt it immensely.
QuadThreat85 3 months ago
This his how you beat Kvitova. Too bad only Serena is capable of playing this kinda tennis.
jproxursoxoff 3 months ago
@ Iknowtennis777
It goes on how much you know about tennis, Maria got her non existent ass handed to her in that Wimbledon final. Kvitova will back it up, Maria's best days are behind her. She's the joke.
Sabior19 4 months ago
Serena gave her the business in this match! lol.
MrProdigy555 4 months ago
Petra got lucky that Maria wasn't on her A game at Wim or she would have been beaten...Vera took her out in tokyo 60 in the second set. What a joke!
iknowtennis777 5 months ago
I'm really curious to see how Kvitova develops. She's insanely powerful and when she's playing well, she can beat anybody. Didn't do well at the US, which was kind of an expected slump after winning Wimbledon, but still... I expect great things from her.
atomcrush 5 months ago
when i first saw Kit at wimbledon 2010, she really gave serena a run. I think the only reason she lost was bc she DIDN'T belive that she could actually win. Now that she is the champ that confidence will take her to a whole new level of confidence.
WTA---watch the F^&*k out!!
pearpeas 6 months ago
@pearpeas That ain't the only reason...Serena never loses early at GS nor does she lose to amateurs...lol
twarren20 6 months ago
@Trent689 Serena is 7-2 against Clijsters, what are u talkin about!!!! (I MEAN 7-2, isn't this being owned??) The woman's the most dominant force in tennis RIGHT NOW. Look at how women's tennis got fucked up when Serena was injured, she's back, all over sudden evrythin in order.

This was before i knew who Petra Kvitova was. Lol.

I never took notice of this match, so Petra has always been an imminent treat to the top wta players.
minging697 6 months ago
@minging697 lol threat? didn't she lose 6-2 6-1...i think Petra's game is absolutely amazing and she will win more GS in the future but she needs to not go into slumps like she doing now after winning a GS.
twarren20 6 months ago
@Trent689 Amen!!!lol
chabon3357 6 months ago
I agree with you guys, but the best players at present have a losing record against Serena in the Grand Slams. Dementieva (R), Li Na, Azarenka, Vera, Kvitova, Wozniacki, Sharapova, Jankovic, Venus. Except Clijsters (but we don't know what would've happened if that horrible call wasn't made against Serena at US Open). Until they beat Serena SQUARELY AT A SLAM without any controversies, then SERENA'S STILL THE QUEEN.
Trent689 6 months ago
i wanna see petra against venus... we all know serena is unstoppable when shes playin her A game blah blah blah but venus.. not so much. im a little unsure as to who would win in a petra vs venus williams match hopefully theyll meet in toronto
killinswatido 6 months ago
@killinswatido Kvitova already beat Venus in Memphis three years ago in three sets. So Kvitova has beaten everyone expect Serena.

@JordanjamesX was it a good match?

FOLKS TENNIS BEGINS WITH THE SERVE, SO GOES YOUR GAME. if a rivalry develops between these 2, it will come down to the serve. ....and you know who has the greatest serve of all time in women's tennis.
Trent689 7 months ago
half way through the set i think lightbulbs went off for serena. she started directing more serves to kvitova's backhand
holocaustik 7 months ago
Whoa. Petra played well here. And she still got smoked. That is scary. But I don't think I've ever seen someone hit the ball as hard and clean as Petra since Davenport.

Yet another "GWH" that the racists are looking to. SmH.
SoulPowerful 7 months ago
@snortincoke even in this form serena wasnt her best... her positioning on those shots were bad but shes a fighter, based on serena's physical look now, she looks so MUCH better if the wtt pics and vids are to go by, i think we are seeing the serena that won the french in 02, now lets hope her return is back on fire coz thats what let her down at wimby.
sexygreen2010 7 months ago
Kvitiova should thank Sharapova for the gift of Wimbledon 2011, 'cause Serena would have mopped her ass. Until she meets and beats Serena in a final she's not gonna feel comfortable playing her. Serena's a monster when her serve's on.
Trent689 7 months ago
@Trent689 Ummm... they played the year before and Serena didn't "mop her ass" there. Kvitova has improved so much since last year's Wimbledon. They could have a great rivalry at Wimbledon over the next couple of years.
TatianasWorld 7 months ago
@TatianasWorld i think serena has a physical advantage in terms of her how she moves to the ball than petra... but petra definitely hits the ball hard and shows great fight.
sexygreen2010 7 months ago
@TatianasWorld I don't think Kvitova has improved that much since Wimbledon 2010, just her work has payed off because she was in great shape in this video AND she was striking the ball well...Serena just debilitated her here.
MrProdigy555 6 months ago
I would love to watch a match between Kvitova and the Williams sisters! It would be pretty intense :)
SuperP13 7 months ago
Kvitova will have a hard beating Serena because a few streaky points by Kvitova, will let Serena in and Serena will take contro on the match, plus Serena's serve can be intimidating for Kvitova..... I hope Serena beats her everytime for the sake of Martina Naratilova running her mouth!
Nike5221 7 months ago 2
@Nike5221 that`s right, serena is born to be dominant champion! only graf is at her level!

@Top10TennisNetwork much as i love kvitova i will be rooting for serena lol

@Top10TennisNetwork Serena will have to be back to a comfortable form to get through a girl like Kvitova. I cant wait to see her game get back to this level. I trust it will happen. With some luck, by the US OPEN!!
BLACKandGAYALLDay 7 months ago
@Top10TennisNetwork it won't happen...especially if serena is serving well and her cardio is back on track. Serena is no Sharapova...lol
twarren20 7 months ago
@Top10TennisNetwork yeah right...don`t be ridiculous, serena`s 70% is good enough to beat kvtova 2-0!
petronije1001 6 months ago
@petronije1001 I agree. Serena's 70% could beat Kvitova's 30%.

@Top10TennisNetwork lol r u drunk when u comment this?
jshaoful 4 months ago
@jshaoful For sure. I get ridiculously plastered and then write hilarious comments on youtube videos. It has nothing to do with that fact that Kvitova is the better tennis player.
Top10TennisNetwork 4 months ago
@Top10TennisNetwork yupe.better tennis player with 1 GS title ONLY HAHAHA
jshaoful 4 months ago
@jshaoful You don't have to be an ignorant asshole. Kvitova's career is just now taking off. OBVIOUSLY SHE ONLY HAS ONE MAJOR. That's like comparing Serena when she was 12, to Schiavone when she's 30 and saying Schiavone is better cuz she had more majors when she was 30 than Serena did when she was 12. That logic is absolutely ludicrous.
Top10TennisNetwork 4 months ago
@Top10TennisNetwork then y u say kvitova is better than serena????dumbass
jshaoful 4 months ago
@jshaoful Me has no idea. Me can't speek english good. But that cuz me drunk. What your excuse?

@Top10TennisNetwork mayb u create one for me.ur really funny

@jshaoful thnx! ur opinion mean lots to mee.
Top10TennisNetwork 4 months ago
@Top10TennisNetwork to say kvitova is better than serena maybe u should post this kind of comment on video where serena lost to kvitova.but wait...kvitova never won against serena.so no wonder i see u comment here HAHAHA dahltennis
jshaoful 4 months ago
@jshaoful Well I was obviously drunk when I wrote that remember?
Top10TennisNetwork 4 months ago
@jshaoful And all you've got here is a 20% Kvitova facing a 70% Serena to go off of. Kvitova hasn't even reached her full potential yet and I believe that Petra at her best (which we have yet to see) is better than Serena. Both phenomenal champions but I think Kvitova has got more variety and style.
Top10TennisNetwork 4 months ago
@Top10TennisNetwork I don't think your comment is fair. Kvitova was very young here and Serena was in top form. We have to wait and see how Kvitova develops she's only won one slam so far. Kvitova had a breakthrough year in 2011 BUT she NEEDS to win more slams to PROVE she's the real deal. Great champions win tons of slams not just one.
JordanjamesX 3 months ago
@JordanjamesX Kvitova wasn't that young. It's a year difference from 2010 to 2011. But...she did in fact improve.
MrProdigy555 3 months ago
@JordanjamesX wow...it's a bold statement for anyone to say Serena's in top form while she has two wrappings on her legs, but whatever...I guess I just think this comment is wrong on all levels....there is very little difference between Kvitova now and Kvitova in this match....maybe she's lost about 5 pounds, but that's about it.
QuadThreat85 3 months ago
@Top10TennisNetwork I disagree. Serena at her very best is seriously untouchable on the WTA. Her shot making and technique is unbelievable, combined with her movement and her remarkable mentality.
itsjonkuo 3 months ago
@itsjonkuo I can respect that. I just personally think Kvitova has a ridiculous amount of potential and she's finally starting to live up to it. If those 2 were the play again (assuming Petra isn't in an awful slump), I think it'd be a treat no matter who the winner was.
Top10TennisNetwork 3 months ago
@Top10TennisNetwork Agreed. I totally respect Kvitova, I love how she proved herself at the YEC, and yes I don't understand her random losses like at the US open. But yeah Serena and Kvitova are the only consistent champion-like players at the moment. I think Sharapova COULD be if she wasn't so tense and spotty. I also had great hopes for Li Na as she was incredible earlier this year, but is also suffering confidence issues.. What do you think?
itsjonkuo 3 months ago
@itsjonkuo Yeah it's definitely a shame that Li has had such a tough time since winning Roland Garros... I do hope she can find her confidence/form again though, because that would really make things interesting at the top and I think she and Petra could have an awesome rivalry.
