This is indeed one of their best! I studied with Jorge for a while, helped them get this one out during '80-81 and they have been great friends since...two of the finest people and musicians you'll ever know!
I bought the RECORD back in 1981! I still think this is their best album...edgy and the steel string sound helps. After this album they switched to nylong string and became more commercial, but I still respect them.
@canonmj / I love this lp. My all time fav is Guittaras followed by Frontera. I bough them both after they were featured in Guitar Player in the Dec 85 issue. Been a fan ever since. Got to meet them both and I felt like a kid meeting Michael Jordan!
I just found this song the other day by going through most all of S&F's songs on LastFM. The opening superbly sets the mood, which is always a good sign; the start of a song always sets the mood, so it's easy to tell most of the time if the whole song will be boring or enjoyable just from that. It's not that hard to make a good song (if you're as talented, which this group often rightly is). I wish they would do that more often. The song named "Reng" is also my favorite but in a different way.
strunz is from costa rica im from there too :)
