@Yusra1001 Some cakes use it, mainly homemade stuff though. I forgot exactly what it does but it's just like adding applesauce or another "off" ingredient to a cake. It can improve the taste and/or texture. Sodabread or even beer-bread is good too. You can use 7-Up or Sprite for the best tasting soda-bread and pick whatever beer for the other.

Soda is not NEEDED! White cake mix isn't either. What ive done, i just got yellow cake mix, and followed the instructions on the box, separate the cake mix evenly into 5 or 6 bowls. (i just used 5, i put the colors, purple, blue, green, yellow, and pink) Not really the rainbow but looks just like it and layer it into the pans like they did. By the looks of the cake they didn't wait until the cake was cooled and didn't put flour in the pan! Your messin up howcast!
