That's actually an Asian Toilet, not just Japanese. It's very comfortable if u can bend your thighs/knees easily. Bt it's quite difficult for westerners bcause of their big body n the position of back.

1 good thing but also bad abt this toilet is wen u poo, it either slides down the hole (Good) or it stays right there under yr bum (Bad)..well dat depends upon your shit!

I do not think actually Gaijin is a racist word but I do agree the word Gaijin sounds a wee bit impolite for its too shorted form and I myself avoid using it in front of foreigners or even just saying to myself ... For showing politeness the Japanese add suffix like somebody-san or -chan(?)... so Gaijin-san or Gaikokujin I believe those belong to the category list of quite polite words or normal ones .. The Japanese feel more about sounds than actural Kanji-meaning in this case
