  • Par EndFedz antennas rock... They sold the line to LnR Precision, but Randy will answer your emails and is happy to give you lots of advice. I have a 20m that I love. I'm getting the 10/20/40 model. You can cut mono bands for that particular model, as long as you don't go over 25 watts (10 on PSK). It is the only antenna in their line that you can do that with. The antennas are built exceptionally well, and work wonderful.

  • @steveinkentucky

They are built very well. Dale was always very pleasant to deal with. He's been having quite a few orders come from the government and so he was always quite busy. Even so he always had time to answer questions. I wish Randy the best of luck with the amateur line of antennas. I've always had great fun with the 10/20/40 model. Even with it only 20-25ft up in the air I've regularly been able to work into Europe on 10 watts of power on SSB.

  • @M3XEM Hi, I am M3 FLP in Northampton with a Yaesu 817, FT-60, LDG817, Wonderwand antenna and a 20M Hamstick on a magmount. Have spoken SSB all over Europe, nice to watch ur great videos, thank you, Simon

  • Hi Mike-

Are you pretty happy with that PAR dipole? I'm thinking about buying one to try out. I wonder if I'll have better luck with that than the buddipole. Thanks for the video!

  • @TangoTracker223

I've never used the Buddipole but I'm always surprised of what the PAR can do. I've managed 5,000 miles contacts at 10W with the PAR in a sloper configuration with one end on the ground and the other up only about 20ft or so. Dale is a very nice fellow to work with. I highly recommend the antenna.

  • @928GTSR

Thanks for the reply Mike. Your video inspired me to buy that same antenna. Great videos, I just subscribed!

  • @QRPisFun

Thanks for the kind words. I'll have some new videos up quite shortly especially since I'll be putting up a new antenna very soon.

  • Hi Mike. I recall the time I made contacft with you. It was off I-26 between Asheville NC and Johnson City TN-- using about 5 watts on my Y-817ND. This was in July, 2008. Thanks for your kind remarks. Best of DX- 73 from Huntsville AL

  • Excellent DX Mike! Rooster likes the IC703 also. Gud QRP/DX in 2010! 73, Peanut

  • Hey thanks a lot. I really enjoy your videos. When the weather improves here come spring and summer I want to do a bit of hiking with a friend and have some ham radio time once we reach the top.

We have quite a few mountains around here and I can imagine it'd be a laugh to set up the portable 2 element beam I have on a hill top and see how far that gets out at 10W

  • nice QRP statoin

  • Thanks! - Mike

  • It's a really fantastic antenna. It's tough as nails,I've swung that thing up into a tree and then yanked it down more times than I can remember and it's never seemed very bothered by it at all. It gets out extremely well and is very easy to travel with. I've worked as far away as Russia on 20m with that antenna and 10W.

Dale at PAR is also a very nice fellow to deal with.

  • Hey Mike. I just saw that I made a QRP contact with you while I was portable in Tennessee on July 10, 2008. I was using a Yaesu 817ND, 5 watts with a 20 meter ham stick on 14.227. 73 Wil in Huntsville AI4QT

  • Hey Wil, I watch your videos whenever you put a new one up. Your ham stick on a painter's pole is a really good idea! It's impressive what a little ham stick will do when you get some height on it. Also with something like a ham stick getting as many verticals down as possible is absolutely key.

Keep up the fine work! - Mike/KC2TAU

  • @AI4QT I use the same config with the 20M Hamstick on a magmount. I have talked SSB all over Europe from the UK, no probs on 5W Yaesu 817 etc. Love it to bits!

  • Good Video Mike 73 Jer

  • Thanks a lot!

  • I used a IC735 and HW8 to a 2 el Gem Quad to work all 50 states mostly on 3 W! I worked Europe on 1w w/579+ readings! Ha! Have had QRO hams drop my QSO when I told them I was running QRP! I worked Japan on 4W most all of these on 20M, few on 15M. N4OHB

  • That is quite the pity how some folks do that even if you're a loud signal! Don't worry about them,I'm sure the nice folks nearly fall out of their chair when they find out you're running as little power as you are!

I have a real laugh making contacts on 80M with 10W when most folks are using 300W+. If the conditions are right and you're patient you will get through!

  • Thanks! And yes I've learned that a good ground system with the right antenna in a good location is worth much for QRP work. I can't say enough for the Quad ant for QRP work. I had a German op laugh when I told him I was running 1W, my best contact was 250mw at 1200 miles on 20m, other op was running 50mw!!
