@TheSV3 Sort of. A non rewritable CD can't be erased electromagnetically at all because of the way the data is encoded: a laser burns pits into the plastic that keep the light from the reading laser from reflecting to the sensor (in binary, this represents a zero). Rewritable ones are different.
