  • to @dalecampbl9: Well, the quote should be this: "The lifetime politicians take from the needy and give to the unknown corporations who have rights as citizens now." Thanks, oh wise chief justices..... who were appointed by who? Hmmm oh yeah, bush and the other wonderful party members.... that's how our government works so well with the three branches all working together so well. Let's see what an INDEPENDENT would do. Oh, that's too scary, huh?

  • O yeah, and the federal deficit is decreasing as we speak.

  • So technically there was no "money" in the Trust Fund and there never has been. It means only that Social Security has been adding money into the Federal Budget since 1983.

If there were no money in the Trust Fund, our debt would actually be a lot smaller, since every dollar in the Trust Fund is a dollar the government must eventually give to a future SS receiver with interest.

  • @nafaidni It appear we may be making some headway....

You've almost wrapped your head around the fact there is no trust fund.

  • @poisonapple16

The Trust Fund is a bunch of IOUs. I knew that for a long time. I mentioned this because you, like pseudo-policy-makers such as Sharron Angle, try to say, "The Democrats have been raiding the Trust Fund..."

That is not only illegal, but hardly possible. Social Security is funded by payroll taxes which go directly into the general budget. Any type of spending or tax cut could therefore qualify as "raiding social security", so it's null and void to attack someone for doing so

  • @nafaidni < paraplegic feces

  • Whether or not it believes government exists for things besides the military and taking away rights considered "immoral". Whether it believes widely accepted Keynesian or wasteful Trickle-down Economics. Whether it supports the 2% who never need it, or the 98% who can benefit well from it. Whether it regulates the power of corporations to put them in either compensated servitude or rule over the people. Whether it thinks Life is a fundamental right, or just owning guns.

  • This is about whether or not the US is a nation that apologizes when a company pollutes its waters and has to pay for it. Whether or not it lowers taxes on those who can afford to give a lot more when its revenues are already at shortfall. Whether or not it believes racism in the workplace is detrimental to society and shouldn't be allowed. Whether or not it believes Social Security has helped the vast majority of seniors who supported it powerfully for almost 70 years.

  • This isn't about "bigger government" this is about protecting main street and the American consumer. :)

  • Impeached for?????

  • It's a fact that the stimulus package has saved or created several million jobs that would have been lost in the downturn of the economy, it is a fact that the economy has grown every quarter since the bill was passed, its a fact that the bank bailout was needed to prevent financial implosion (study the Great Depression & what happened when we didn't bail the banks) and it's a fact that people dont know what the hell they're talking about when they call him the worst president in history.

  • REPUBLICANS RUINED AMERICA DUE TO 9/11, DO I NEED TO SAY MORE? GOD BLESS DEMOCRATS! GOD BLESS AMERICAN PEOPLE!

  • @democratsaresmart Yes, we are MUCH better of now....

...well at least federal employees are. The rest of us can't find work.

  • @poisonapple16

Must explain why the private sector has been adding jobs every month since, what, March until now? 67000 private sector jobs were made last month, I think.

  • OBAMA

    WEINER

    2012

    YES WE CAN

  • Hope is like dope, good in theory, but actually makes you lazy and hungry.

  • Atleast he's doin wallstreet reform

  • GO AWAY PLOUFFE! And take your Boss with you!

  • Rival Health Care reform???? LOL!!! Health care reform was weak! This is SUPER weak! This administration is a joke! I am so past buyers remorse that I can't stand the taste in my mouth! What happened to the change we can believe in?

Do we get to listen to more stories of his Mother dying in the hospital bed and fighting with health insurance companies or will she be fighting with her Bank this time?

How does war taste Mr. Noble WAR Prize winner as Hugo Chavez calls you. You're a joke! novote4U!

  • @SunRunnerNY so true. healthcare reform isn't what USA needed, universal healthcare is what is needed.

  • @Merimi that will be the death of us all

  • watch the obama deception you obama-zombies. The sheep will follow obama even off the cliff.

  • @BamaKattt I've watched it. It's full of very entertaining bullshit.

  • B S

  • Barack out with your cock out lol

  • To really protect the consumers?

    Good luck.

  • We are going broke just like Greece!!!

We are going broke just like Portugal!!!

We are going broke just like Spain!!!

We are going broke just like Italy!!!

    ......

  • BHO white-hating racist; an anti-Semite, a sewer-drenched maggot - and not least of all - a malevolent Marxist cockroach. Obama is not simply a radical leftist or a radical socialist. He is a Marxist revolutionary. This puss oozing, malignant illegal alien is spiteful, hateful, destructive & a putrid poison running through the body of this nation. I tried my best to sugarcoat this post to keep it civil so as not to upset any malodorous Marxist crapweasels that might be lurking on this forum.

  • FLAME WAR, HO!

  • Obama is a Marxist Socialist, and should be impeached,

and sent back to his homeland-Kenya

  • Big banks like Goldman Sachs and JP Morgan are for this reform.

Barack, you are not coming through on your promises, it really saddens me.

How can you sign this into law with a straight face?

  • Big push eh> Was that before or after golf? Nobody believes this is reform or that it will end taxpayer-funded bailouts.

  • The reform is just utterly weak. Thanks to Obama sucking that Republican tit.

  • @sierrahikergal HELLO !! Has it crossed anyones mind that perhaps they are all in on this explosion of government control. Democrats and Republicans are equally corrupt.

  • What's up with the side camera angles. So we can see his bad haircut.

Yeah we beleive you dude. The people who created the problems are fixing it for us.

  • Bill does nothing to reform Freddie and Fannie. The biggest offenders.

Obama you are a true ass clown.

  • Comment removed

  • this just in. DEMs gonna get 60 (barely) votes in the SEnate to pass Wall Street Reform.....true we might not all know what is 100% in the bill, but one thing is certain, Wall street now hates Obama and will funnel their campaign money to GOP...what does that tell you about Obama/Democrats and where they stand when the very rich fucks who ruined this country start funneling their money to the GOP? Huh?!?!? The article I read described White House is "tone deaf" to the overture of lobbyists.

  • @dalecampbl9 "Wall street now hates Obama and will funnel their campaign money to GOP"

Sounds better than the same Wall Street that overwhelmingly donate and voted for Obama. Guess them rich corporate fat cats might be wising up. Well guess again, they'll still lobby democrats as always. Ever wonder why every ponzi schemer and inside trader on Wall Street is a democrat? I don't.

  • @dalecampbl9 BIG GOVERNMENT = BIG TAXES .......AND LOTS OF LAWS

  • @not8upwthit so? you have to tax the right people and industries, and laws...we've always had a ton of law before the 1900s....this country loves it's laws, because we are an orderly progressive nation which actually "deliberates" on things and these "deliberations" are in case law or manifests themselves in congressional bills and statutes. this is a complicated nation and until you break the law or are accused of doing so, even unwittingly, you aren't gonna comprehend the blessing law is.

  • @dalecampbl9 -That’s funny ! Do you really believe that more/bigger government is your friend? Perhaps you want to be owned from the cradle to the grave, I can’t even begin to understand that mindset.

THE GOVERNMENT TAKES FROM THE NEEDY & GIVES TO THE GREEDY

  • well let me ask you something...does a "BIG" government (i don't know what your definition of 'big' is) have to be the enemy? Does a "big" democratically elected government have checks and balances that ensures it doesn't go too far to the left or the right? would that ensure a better gov't....i mean when you absolutist statement like "big gov't is evil" you and I both know that's not true...because that's an absolute statement, and in social science, there's no absolute statements like that

  • @not8upwthit

Big v small government is a useless topic for useless people that shifts away the discussion from real issues. The government has the role to satisfy economic needs, whereas the private sector satisfies economic wants (and needs to those who can afford it).

How big or small it becomes depends on the situation of the time. As economies prosper and shrink, government should always recline and expand its power to stand aside or give help.

  • @not8upwthit Well, the quote should be this: "The lifetime politicians take from the needy and give to the unknown corporations who have rights as citizens now." Thanks, oh wise chief justices..... who were appointed by who? Hmmm oh yeah, bush and the other wonderful party members.... that's how our government works so well with the three branches all working together so well.

  • WOW! A 2500 page bill boiled down to 5 bullet points. I smell bull shit.

  • @harshLesson Cynicism helps us avoid disappointment which in turn, makes happier people.

  • @harshLesson Actually, I'm Irish-German.

    Keep fishing.

  • @harshLesson See, there you go again. I have not a single drop of Jewish blood, nor should I need one to support the State of Israel.

And what are you? If I were to take a guess, it would probably be reich. HaHa, you see what I did there?

  • @PlayT0E it's not self-delusion...when GOP congress members do not want reform, it's not because they believe it works, they know it doesn't work, but their job (their paycheck) is not to make laws that work...it's to make laws that don't work (for the middle class that is)

  • @PlayT0E i don't view business or big gov't as evil, i just view unregultaed big business as evil...sometimes a business has to grow big, super big to achieve what it wants to do and there are a lot of complicated legal entities that we nonspecialized folks don't know about...but to me it just makes common sense to have a gov't which is regulated by democracy, regulate private corporations so can have gov't and businesses that work...but each time it happens, people scream "communism!"...not so

  • Unless they include Fannie and Freddie in this reform all it does is give Government more power to screw up again and again. Ask yourself not if, but when the next crisis will come. Because Government regulation and monetary policy caused the crisis we are in now.

  • This is a joke.

  • End the Fed.

  • oopppsss, sorry I thought I was Eonline.com, my bad LOL

  • I can't believe Bristol and Levi are getting married.

  • protect us all from the banks period.this is a scam

  • Obama delivering oh his commitments? That is a lie. We've already passed the deadline when Obama said he would with draw all soldiers from Iraq.

  • Why not go ahead and chase the last remaining companies in the US out? Hopefully the government will put us all on welfare.

Yes I agree, like health care reform this will hurt our economy, hurt businesses, and raise our taxes.

  • @wyzguy333

Fact: obama received more campaign money during the elections than any other candidates.

  • Obviously, obama is just forcing more US companies to relocate outside of the US.

Americans are getting poor with currency devaluation and higher taxes because of obama's reckless TRILLIONS in annual spending. And, more jobs will be relocating overseas. Why would anyone invest in a devaluing asset like the USD, along with dealing with more regulations and higher taxes?

  • @YouSmellLikePOOO- Too bad you don't know anything budgets. Budgets are always set October of the year before, meaning the FY2009 budget you are attributing to Obama was actually signed in October 2008 by Bush. EPIC FAIL. Try again, Slappy. Only FY2010 spending counts for Obama up to this point.

  • @rdrakken

Wow another obama worshiper. The "blame it all on bush" tactic is old and is not valid at all. All obama talks about is reform this, reform that, spend this to stimulate that. fill out college brackets 2 be popular with the "hip and trendy" crowd, play some golf, and refuses to allow others countries help with the oil spill. He is not a president. He is a celebrity that got by on being black. And I am a black man who thinks electing him is the biggest mistake this country has ever done.

  • @s4bones

    You area fucking idiot.

Fact: The Iraq war only cost less than $750 billion over SEVEN years.

obama is over-spending over $1.5 TRILLION per year, and almost $3 TRILLION in just TWO years.

Do you even know the fucking difference between billions and TRILLIONS???

Do you even know what socialism means???

Seriously, get educated because you start spewing your stupidity.

  • Another Socialist propoganda message. On November 2, 2010, the American People have a rendevouz with destiny.

  • @RonPaulGeorgeRingo Do you have that little ditto as a text file on your desktop, or do you have it memorized.

Cause you re-post it like every fucking day.

  • @Nenendude ... said Osama Bin Laden.

  • Comment removed

  • @Nenendude Apparently you've mistaken for another racist democrat.

You are mistaken sir; my disagreements with the coward and chief are based on policy not race.

Black or white, he is the worst president in history.

  • @poisonapple16 And you are sorely mistaken in thinking that he's the worst President in history. Oh, please. First off, it's too early to make judgements. That's irrational. Second, look at every President in history, and you cannot say he's worse than others. Just look at Hoover.

  • @0Sparkle I'm extrapolating out 2 years....

I figure he has a 25% chance of being impeached in his first term.

    Give or take...

  • @poisonapple16

Worse than Grant? Worse than Nixon? Worse than Hoover? Worse than Bush? Worse than Carter?

Apparently, you know nothing of American history. Read a chapter of it, will you? Learn that big spending has been done before, particularly by FDR, who is not at all unpopular (4 consecutive terms). Debt rose to 120%/GDP at highest. Right now, it is only 91%/GDP or so.

Learn to support yourself. Otherwise, you are nothing more than a Rneck ditto head who neither knows or cares of the US.

  • @nafaidni Look shit for brains; the brainwashed masses who love FDR are sucking from the tit of his monstrous creation.

    I support myself just fine.

I wish you liberal fuck-holes would do the same.

  • @poisonapple16

Yep, the decrease of poverty amongst seniors doesn't matter to a fucking die hard know-nothing like yourself, does it? Why the fuck WOULD you care? You care about no one but yourself and suit yourself fine shitting on the working fellow.

Again, we don't give a shit. You can live without SS if you want. You still have to pay into it. The vast majority of seniors, liberal or conservative, support SS overwhelmingly. What a random douche on Youtube says won't change a thing.

  • @nafaidni Yes again we play the generational bet.

Which set of grandchildren will turn to their grandparents with contempt and say "FUCK YOU"

"I'm not sacrificing my children's prosperity because you were too stupid NOT to elect a bunch of thieving democrats!"

I've got a news flash for you; EVERYONE CARES ABOUT THEMSELVES

I'ts fuck-holes like you who are endlessly generation with other peoples money that fuck it up.

    Social Security will fail.

It's only a matter of time.

  • @poisonapple16

"Which set of grandchildren will turn to their grandparents with contempt and say "FUCK YOU""

None, since they'll end up getting compensated with future benefits when they become old. Yep, Social Security will never go away because:

1: It's popular and prevents seniors from being killed by bank failures.

2: Each generation that has already paid into it won't stand for their benefits being taken away.

Everyone cares about themselves, but the better of them also care of others.

  • @nafaidni BAHAHAHAHAHA Future benefits; your funny.

There are no future benefits, the money has been spent.

    1. It doesn't matter how popular it is. THERE IS NO MORE MONEY

    2. Each generation isn't paying into anything; they are paying for the current set of retired moochers.

"Everyone cares about themselves, but the better of them also care of others"

Oh for fuck sake grow up.

If you want to care for others go give to charity; leave me the fuck out of it.

  • @poisonapple16

"It doesn't matter how popular it is. THERE IS NO MORE MONEY"

A: Uh, yes there is. It is constantly being paid for by payroll taxes. How can they have no more money when they constantly get it in taxation?

B: The Trust Fund is perfectly big enough. It'll last until 2042 at this rate. But the Trust Fund is just a bunch of IOUs to future receivers that states, essentially, "We promise to pay you this sum of money, when payroll taxes are insufficient, that we got from past taxes."

  • @nafaidni

A: Have you ever heard of baby boomer's? More people are nwo drawing social security than are working. I.E. more old age welfare cases exist than do poor smucks like you and me to support them. (Well at least me. Maybe if you get a job...)

B: ??? What planet do you live on???? There is no trust fund, all the money has been spent on buying votes. There is no money.

  • @poisonapple16

A: Population increases have declined since then. Over time, less people will be leeching from the SS system. And if it is excessive leeching, the payroll tax can just be raised half a percentage point or so.

B: You're likely another indoctrinated Republican ditto-head. The SS Trust Fund is a set of Treasury Bonds that the SS Administration is LEGALLY BOUND to pay into the SS system when payroll taxes fall short of benefits. There is plenty of money left in it, and increasing.

  • See, the Trust Fund doesn't really have money in it. It's just a bunch of IOU's; debt. When payroll taxes raise revenue greater than the cost of benefits that must be paid to SS receivers, Treasury Bonds (IOUs the government sells to people, which it pays off later with interest) are made equal to the sum of the surplus and deposited into the Trust Fund.

When revenues shortfall expenses for SS, the government renews these Bonds and pays SS receivers from the general budget until they run out.

  • Social Security is a part of the general budget, btw. The Federal Government simply takes money from the Treasury and gives it to the SS Administration to give to beneficiaries.

Saying "THERE IS NO MORE MONEY" is essentially like saying "THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT HAS NO MORE MONEY". That, obviously, is untrue since the Federal Government can simply loan money from other nations and print more via the Federal Reserve. Otherwise, every Federal funded program would be nonexistent right now.

  • @nafaidni I don't know what kind of weird fantasy land you live in.

If the government SIMPLY borrows the money who pays it back?

Are you one of these wankers with $100,000 in credit card debt?

Money has to be paid back, that's why it's call a LOAN.

You've stumbled into the greater point; ALL federally funded programs should not exist right now; we have no money.

How can you not see that?

  • @poisonapple16

"If the government SIMPLY borrows the money who pays it back?"

The government. I'm not an idiot, I know that the government cannot just refuse to pay back its debts (that's defaulting, which it theoretically could do, but would turn the value of the dollar into twigs),

The fact is, though, as long as we have a loan, we have the money. We just need to pay back the loan when we have more money and nothing to spend it on.

And yeah, no one rational agrees with your second point.

  • @nafaidni Ooooh, civics fail. Actually it is the people who will pay it back.

    More precisely my children.

    Isn't that interesting?

It turns out you are an idiot.

  • @poisonapple16

    *sigh*

Declaring facts that are too obvious to be wasted on 500 character comments doesn't make you the least bit intelligence.

It turns out you've know understanding of Social Security or the fact it has been in $1.8 trillion surplus since 2004 and has helped pay for the budget.

P.S. You've been paying (not enough, as our debt shows) for the debts of Reagan, H.W. Bush, and W. Bush for decades. Except in the future, they need to be payed in full if the debt is to be stopped.

  • @nafaidni LOLOLOLOLOLOLOL.

You know if I didn't know you actually believed what you are saying it would be funny.

"There is not now, nor has there ever been a surplus of Social Security Trust Funds except in the minds of Washington propagandists....."

That's one hit of many; might a suggest Google....

I never said Reagan and bush didn't accrue debt; wars cost money. That type of spending is difficult to control.

That's different than stealing from the young to benefit the old.

  • @poisonapple16

Taking the testimony of Google Pundits over rational thinking? See, this is the long-term effect of conservatism untreated by education.

Social Security generates a "surplus" when payroll taxes exceed benefits that are given out. The Federal Government is legally bound to theoretically pay that surplus back in the future from the general budget, but until then, it is extra money. If SS never had a surplus, the Trust Fund wouldn't exist, now would it?

  • oh david plouffe the mastermind behind packaging a dog turd into an electable intellectual, where did you learn your propaganda Goebbels? A 6 year old could have gotten Hussein elected, the media clearly wanted him to win and wanted a dark skinned president.

  • @TheUnitedStatists I think his ethnicity was key in Obama's election but when Sarah Palin first opened her mouth as a running mate, the election was over.

  • @Jimmystarnz he got elected because McCain is liberal light, and Obama got the red carpet treatment from every media outlet except foxnews

  • America isn't a country... but United States is... sigh need more edu-macation

  • Many still celebrate believing somehow that a bigger government will equate to a better life. Has this ever been the case anywhere?

    Interesting times we are living.........

  • @not8upwthit

Someone doesn't know about the US in the early 1900s

  • Let’s see: Government Banks, Government Motors, and Government Healthcare now Government Wall Street and Gov Energy and last but not least Government Amnesty. Anyone think there might be a pattern or cause for concern? The Republic of the United States has indeed been dismantled over the last 40 years right under our nose. Barak is the closer and to his credit he excels at this role, shoving it right up our ass with a big smile and reassuring rhetoric.

  • @Potatoes4POTUS ---My concern is our Government growing by the minute and our friends across the Atlantic didn't get in their condition overnight. Big government is not going to improve your life. Perhaps you want to be owned cradle to the grave.

  • @not8upwthit Lemon laws belong with financial services just like they do with cars. My parents were some of the few responsible baby boomers out there and rather than depending on the dwindling resources of Social Security, actually put money away into funds for retirement. They lost almost all of that when these ponzi scheming jerks played dice with their retirement money and lost. Everyone should be able to get behind this regardless of party.

  • Hey if I call my Senators and tell them to vote yes on this bill, can I have a job ?

  • Go Obama Go Lets make the rich poor and the poor rich. The NEW WORLD ORDER! I will stand by you!

  • To use 2 handcams for this video is a very bad idea, because you lose the expression of a direct communication.

  • To use 2 handcams for this video is a very bad idea, because you lose the expression of a direct communication.

  • My God, such a huge, stinking lie. Obama and his cronies blocked Glass-Steegal from being added to the bill. Glass-Steegal would save the US economy from drowning in debt.

Thank god hardly anyone is watching this.

  • Who can beat OBAMA? NO one besides Michelle. I don't trust anyone out there more. This man has fought hard to keep his pledges

  • @supermike2164 Yes, he is a most excellent failure.

  • great work white house team******

  • plouffe is hot

  • I'm going to listen to everything that man has to say, because it is exactly what I wanted to hear.

  • Yes Obama thank you now lets get this done and move with Immigration Reform...remember that we voted due to your promise that with in 100 days of your presidency you would have this issue resolved...the deadline has long passed and I still have faith in you Sir so please give the people what you promised but most importantly what is best for America and the community!!!

  • I am SO tired of you white Liberals. Please go to hell.

  • @JackBlair2 And I am so tired of Conservatism, considering as how most people in this nation are already in Hell because of it.

Have a nice day, good sir.

Unless this is interweb sarcasm, in which case I apologize.

  • Thank God we have a LEADER who gets stuff done! Keep it rockin' Obama.

  • @briancobes 1. kill healthcare 2. Golf 3. take over corporations 4. More fucking golf 5. bankrupt corportations 6. Fuck does this guy do nothing else but golf? 7. Destroy energy industry 8. Golf Oil Spill? What oil spill? How much longer until we are the Soviet Union?
  • @poisonapple16 more like 1930's Germany

  • @not8upwthit Indeed!

  • cap and trade lolololhahahahahaha blah blah blah

  • I wish the American public would get just enough of an educated to in the very least take a guess and realize that these reforms are in their interest. Instead they focus on the emotional testiness of the right-wing "tea" parties. There's truth and there's fiction, and the truth outweights the fiction completely. Good luck. Thumbs up!

  • @Rikotistic Stupid Americans. Don't they know corporations are evil?

Allowing the administration total control over them is ALWAYS in their interest.

    Isn't it?

  • @poisonapple16 --Stupid Americans ? Interesting comment coming from one that would suggest the Government is less evil than corporations. You may desire your life to be controlled from the cradle to the grave. Many of us do not.

Government takes from the greedy and gives to the greedy.

  • @not8upwthit Sarcasm; look it up.

  • So our government creates a housing bubble buy inflating housing demand by subsidizing the mortgage industry and then turns around and blames wall street and know pushes more reforms. Who is reforming the government, Fannie and Freddie?

  • We were successful in getting health care reform passed despite dirty political trickery from the Republicans and the lies backed by big money insurance lobbyist. Our President didn't back down and in the end we prevailed. Now it's time to fight once again, but this time we're fighting for Wall Street reform. We need to keep the pressure on our elected officials to ensure another victory.

  • @privlidge

Wow, you Obama regime lovers take the cake. Did you see his numbers out today?

  • It´s OK! Step by step. As we are doing in Brazil. Good luck and sucess, President Obama.

Wow, you Obama regime lovers take the cake. Did you see his numbers out today?

  • the finance reform is to weak so i say make it stronger then pass it
