  • Very good video :-D

  • oi you had a sneeky extra lap, you going again in april?

  • Didn't see the flag although it was up for ages. Should be going april. Did you go to the september one?

  • yea i know theyre duratecs but i understand where your coming from, :( i dunno im only thinking about the zetecs (silver top) because i know theyre tunable and i know theyre cheaper then a puma engine, guess ill have to wait and see what money can buy me :) thanks anyway mate

  • yea but im not too fussed on them engines, they are weak and cant really be tuned much, id much rather a zetec (silver/black top) a 1.8 or 2.0l but not sure about engine mounts for them they would be cheaper too

theres just something about 1300's that i like

  • The 1.6 or 1.7 is the easiest becaue they're essentially the same as the 1.25 and 1.4 so the mount fits and there are looms available. The silvertop needs a new mount but not sure about the focus engines.

Just to clear up the later ka engines (1.3 and 1.6 ohc) is a completely different engine to the hcs/endura so is likely to need the same amount of work to fit as the zetecs

  • oh ok so its not accually an over head cam then?

would you be able to give me a rough price on doing it all? and what kidna speed figures it gives you like the 0-60 if you know? cheers

  • The endura has the cam in the block, the street ka has a ford rocam engine with is overhead cam.

Cost for new parts: cams 200?, head 300+, exhaust 500, map 200+ roughly and there will be more bits to add to the list when you add parts like gaskets.

0-60 on mine is probably 10-11secs somewhere and in the video was doing 95mph ish going up the hill. The mk4 is heavier as well so wont be as quick.

Your best option would be to use the 1.6 or 1.7 engine, but you'd need to mess about with looms

  • hey mate i got a 1.3 mk4 and im wanting something more pokey but my mate showed me this and im wondering is the ka engine you got in it a endura-e engine? if so where did the cam and head come from and was it expensive to do?

i was considering a street ka engine as its a HCS but only with a uprated head and a over head cam, but if this is an option id rather work on what ive got :)

    cheers Jon

  • Hi, yes it is an endura. I got the cam and head second hand so was cheap, to get everything new would be expensive. Also the engine needs to be taken out and dismantled to change the cam. With the other mods power is at 90bhp. With the cost of new parts it isn't really worth it, look on ka forums if you want to find parts second hand.

The street ka engine its more like a single cam zetec than a hcs. If you wanted to change the engine then a 16v zetec-s variant may be easier.

  • cool video man i got a fiesta 1.25 mk4 what you done too your mk3 mate modifications wise

  • Thanks. Mod wise the engine is a 1.3 KA engine with a piper cam, modified head, induction, janspeed 4-2-1 mainfold/exhaust and remap. Suspension is xr2i roll bars and chassis brace with spax shocks and fiesta centre springs.

  • Oh yea its the blue 206 5door

  • 8.45 Yes I done ya. lol its not a race I know. but YESSS :). i done ya. Nice driving. You didnt break any rules. 5 star

  • Lol. I was concentrating at staying out the way when you flew past, I was probably way too cautious. I think yours would have pulled away anyway, it looked pretty quick. Roll on the next one

  • yea cant wait for the next one. september is the next one for me. you? hopefully il have my engine convertion done. its only a 1.6 atm didnt do too badly on the day.
