We have 2 cats. We've moved a couple of times, and one of the cats LOVES it when we move and he spends hours snooping around the new place. But the other cat, OMG!!! He gets so upset and scared, he is literally a basket case for 3 days! He stays under the bed all the time, except to eat and visit the litter box. He'd never miss a meal. LOL!!! But as soon as he's done eating, he goes back under the bed. Finally after 3 days, he's fine. But I feel so sorry for him when he's like that.

Awe!!! Poor thing, my cat was the same way. He would sit in the corner of the room purring loudly wiht his ears laid back. so we left him alone for a few hours and then he started to wonder around for a bit.

When I first bought my cat in my new apartment he didn't do that, he just sniffed around.

And he's just scared, it's a whole new house and a lot of new smells. It's normal that he pants, just gotta leave him alone until he gets used to the house.

he is scared...cats purr when happy, hurt, scared, any number of emotions. he needs a small safe place where nobody will bother him, like under the bed, or a cracked closet.

What he needs is a lap to lay on, so you end up feeling safe to the cat.

Then, cover their head with your arm.

aww, thats a beautiful cat, yeah all animals get really scared and stressed out in an environment that isnt familiar to them. heck! when we remodeled the kitchen and it looked alot ifferent, my cat flipped out!

actually, thats a reaction all cats do to kinda of take in their surroundings. When they breathe with their mouth open like that, it picks up different scents and whatnot.

umm..it wasnt scared..it was really hot one time i was playing with my cat sophie for a while an then she lied down and started to pant alot so i gave her water and she was fine..it wasnt scared..it was thirsty and hot..and it was purring so it wouldnt be scared.

You guys are lame. I love how you all say it's not scared but it's visibly anxious, looking around. The panting has nothing to do with it being scared, and the purring was most likely just because the camera person was giving it attention.
