  • it was the hockey gods!!

  • ghosts

  • The force is strong with this one..

  • Awesome!

  • there was an Invisible wall !

  • physics at its best!

  • WHAT A SAVE BY QUICK

  • Of course it hit the inside of his right skate. They're talking about after that. It was the puck hiting the inside of his skate that sent the puck towards the net, but then something stopped it. if you've watched this over and over again, and you know hockey and what to pay attentino to, you would see that. at about :07 the puck, which was heading towards the net, somehow changes direction all of a sudden. I'm not saying I believe it, but it's pretty awesome...

  • Slow and down and take a second look! The puck continued in the direction of the goal after it hit the skate. look at the video 7 seconds in. it cut to the right like it hit something on the ice

  • those ninjas...

  • It looks like it magically changes direction from the overhead view because it hit his pad and then bounced funny and out as it hit the ice, looks cool though!

  • Wow he's Quick

  • Someone should check the ice. It could have been chapped or had produced a tiny wall due to the constant pounding of the skate and blocked the puck.

  • It's not where it hit the skate. Pay attention to the direction of the puck after it hit the skate. It was going straight into the net but then swivelled and went in another direction. That's why it's "Supernatrual"

  • i dont get it..

  • play and pause it, continue to hit the number 6 and you can tell it's actually weird what it does.

  • jj40....his skate is nowhere near the puck when it turns....sorry to bust the explanation!

  • @JJ401 the puck didnt go by his right skate, it went over his right pad.. and when it changes direction there is nothing in the area.

  • a glitch in the matrix.

  • Abuse the 0:06 button, you can see the "puck got hit by stick" but is still heading towards the goal, but then it just went south..

  • It just bounced funny

  • I blinked, sorry guys.....

  • Hes a Jedi! Plain and simple.

  • God loves LA.

  • The puck hit the inside of his right skate changing the direction, sorry to bust the myth.

  • @jj401 NO......the puck was still headed into the net after it was past Quick. No more contact was made and the puck simply curved away from the goalline. Sorry to bust your logic.

  • @jj401 Sorry cant agree with that! If it was because it hit his skate it would change the direction at the same moment it hit the skate. as we see it changes the direction later

  • @jj401 so let me get this right..."the puck hit the inside of his right skate changing the direction"... why did the puck continue to travel towards the net after "hitting his skate"? and after 2 or 3 feet SUDDENLY veer downward or to the right of net?...

  • @jj401 sorry...slow it down dude...the puck is a good 2 feet behind the goalie and even the butt end of the stick is nowhere near the puck when it changes direction. Had to hit a rut in the ice in the crease...otherwise, get Project Bluebook on it, cuz that wasn't natural!

  • Jesus is on their side...

  • The puck hit the inside of his right skate.

  • @jj401

When it changed direction, the puck wasn't anywhere near either one of his skates.

  • justin bieber

  • WTF WAS THAT??? thats some crazy stuff...theres gotta be some logic to this.... :O

  • oh SNAP

  • You can see the rocket of a shot hit underneath his blocker and tumbles down, when it hits the ice the puck its on its edge, and because it was at an angle bounced off the ice and ricocheted in a different direction. Obviously Quick planned this, thus automatic Vezina trophy for him!

  • It hit the knob on his stick and then changed direction.

  • It looks like it hits his arm to me, it doesn't look supernatural at all.

  • Damn...... Jedi Knight training is getting harder and harder, isn't it?

  • WOW!! MAGIC!!

  • ....holy $h!+!

  • the puck slid on it's edge so it turned like a quarter......or it was magic! lol :)

  • Epic

  • Thats not even fair...

  • it was a gaint forcefield around teh goal

  • Look at the goal's cross bar in comparison with the red line on the ice. It is clear that the camera is looking down a little bit behind the goal which gives an angled perspective to the goal area. The arriving puck goes over quick's leg but hits his stick, sending the puck down to the ice. The angled perspective makes the puck look like it changes direction when it hits the ice, but it is just an illusion.

  • DENIED

  • god didnt want LA to lose

    so he made it so

  • It looks like it's rolling...

  • Chuck Norris?

  • Wow!

  • chuck norris?

  • DIVINE INTERVENTION!?!?! lol

  • I believe that the speed and perhaps a small dent in the ice at that specific spot, caused the puck to re-route.

  • what could sway a puck to do a 90 degree at that velocity?

  • Def nicked the underside of the top part of his stick and went at a downward angle and hit the ice and went off. The angle makes it look different, but if you follow the puck, you can see it nicking the underside of the top part of the goalies of stick and being blocked down and out because of the goalies motion of a backhand

  • Ricocheted off his skate

  • YAHOO SENT ME HERE.

  • He must of said the right prayers before he went to bed that following night

  • Maybe Jonathan is just so Quick our minds can't process his movements.

  • I think he might have actually hit it with the other end of his stick...

  • Look carefully...it bounces off the top of the stick after hitting the blade. It happens very fast.

  • that must've been one big gash in the ice O.o

  • There was spin on the puck. When it hit the ice, it bounced in the direction of the spin.

  • God's second coming.

  • That guy was probally just like ''f*** me.''

  • i guess it was backspin?

  • UMMM

  • it hits his leg.....

  • Angels in the Outfield? No, Angels in the Hockey rink! (=

  • that is crazy that puck just makes a sharp turn. is there a ghost that stopped it???

    hmm...... naa....

    wait maby....lol

  • After watching this 10 times...the puck barely nicks off him and the spin of the puck makes it look like it changes direction. At first, I though it hit a ghost!

  • I think the puck hit his skate and that changed it's path. Still cool though.

  • I'm pretty sure the puck skimmed off Quick's jersey, which made it roll and when it hit the ice at a strange angle it bounced away from the net. So technically it would be a save (of the year). Awesome.

  • 2nd coming of the hockey prophet, forget wine &water this kid makes magic happen on ice.

  • Jesus saves!

  • NO YALL ARE ALL CORRECTLY INCORRECT.....I F YOU LOOK CLOSE LIKE I DID USING THE SCROLL BAR..(double click on the bar to locate the stauts dot...{lil white dot when u pass the mouse by, it displays the time of the present momen}t..use the spacebar to pause too and u can press play and control the playback...like slo motion or scratching turntables...do that and you will see THAT HE IS CLEARLY TALENTED...HE STOPS IT WITH HIS WRIST AND DROPS IT WITH THE MIDDLE OF HIS STICK, TWO HIT SAVE LIKE WHOA!!

  • the force is strong in this one

  • Wow that was just Quick's skill at controlling the force.

  • The deflection off the pad gave the puck ridiculous spin.

  • Nice!

  • Angel in the ice rink.

  • the goalie swiped the top of the puck and made it wobble it was indeed a save

  • puck didnt curve. it spun rapidly and hit the ice. once it hit the ice while spinning, trajectory changed because of the shape of the puck. if you actually play hockey, you'd know this.

  • Since when did Chuck Norris start playing goalie??

  • Wow that wa just Quick's skill at controlling the force.

  • May the barrier be with you!

  • It hits the top of his stick... hes got the bottom pointing up in the air. and the top is behind him. thats what i see anyway

  • they really train these guys, dont they?

on a second note, whats that green thing in front of the net (top down camera)?

  • Anything is possible if you believe

    -jumps off building-

    "Shit it's not the matrix"

  • May the save be with him.

  • he's Jesus man....

  • hm is Jonathan Quick God in disguise? The puck was going to go in but it bounced of something... Maybe it was God's hand.

  • If you look the puck rolls on it's side thus causing it to turn. I'm betting it was popped up in the air a couple inches, came down spinning on it's side causing it to turn... in this case away from the goal.

that's what I'm sticking with at least. ;)

  • OMG everybody has thumbs up.

  • Quantum physics.

  • hes a Jedi is the most logical reason XD

  • Puck hit the stick, then landed on the ice at an angle causing it to skip away like that.

Sorry, science ruins another "act of god" :(

  • It pivoted on his kneepad... >.>

  • if you pay attention to the ice floor at the point where the puck changes direction, you can see where the puck impacted the ice because it leaves a mark. At that point of impact the puck changed its trajectory. It seems pretty unrealistic, but is not.

  • "Curve the puck."

  • think it might have caught his pad leg belt, thats what made it go in the other direction

  • Just like the old ESPN Mike Richter commercial!

  • go kings

  • That isn't a save, that was a gift from god

  • Jonathan Quick is a telepath who can control things with his mind

  • How?

  • If you look really, really closely you can see that the puck either made contact with the inside of Quick's pads, or he manage to deflect it away with the paddle of his stick. Any way you swing it, that's a damn good save.

  • May the Quick be with you.

  • It looks like it hit his pad on his right leg.

  • incredible....

  • arc'd off inside of his pad.

    no ufo's involved.

    big whoop

  • Play of the year.

  • Angel in the ice rink.

  • Bettman!!!

  • Can switching to Geico really save you 15% or more on car insurance?

Is Jon "too Quick" Quick, too quick?

  • his last name explains it all

  • Jedi mind trick much?

  • This looks like a job for the Ghost hunters in his crese.

  • The Chosen One! I wonder if he could put his foot behind his head...

  • wow! may the force be with you jedi lord Quick.

  • guess god likes la, who knew?

  • omg its darth vader 0.0 wat if the ice was alive wat if the puck was rigged? would i have saved 15% or more on car insurance by switching to geico

  • the puck was on its edge spinning if you look closely, and like a pool que had some english on it that zipped around in the direction that you see it go.

  • He should rename himself Neo. Enter the goaltending matrix!

  • Thumbs up

  • wow messed up, clearly a ghost of some kind.

  • Minnndddfreeeaaak

  • I'm gonna ask Quick for hockey lessons...

  • Looks like it hit the tip of the stick

  • Do we need a better reason to call life magical?

  • I swear God hates the Flames as far as goals that should have counted. first the stanley cup game 6 in 2006 and now this. SMH

  • omg its darth vader 0.0

  • sorry, no magic at all... look again: it hits the heel of his skate blade.

  • global warming is the reason for this

  • Hit the goalie Some place and that had to put some weird spin on it

  • illuuussssiooooonnnnnn

  • It's stopped by the ice. Still, this looks epic XD He IS a Jedi.

  • So there are goalie gods.

  • it hit the goalie's glove and bounced in the direction it was spinning, wicked crazy hahahaha

  • Strong with the force young Skywalker is. Hehehe.

  • What fucking fuck just happened???

  • upon closer inspection.. it bounced off the ice after hitting quick. Cool video though!

  • the great wall of quick...

  • Looks like it deflected off of his stick...

  • obvious spinning puck, is very obvious

  • Neo Quick

  • I was at that game ;)

  • if you look closely there is a mark on the ice right after the puck bouces off it. check it out

  • quick must have caught just enough of it to put some weird spin on it, that's absolute luck. take the man to vegas.

  • does he have a strap on the bottom/side of his pad to redirect the puck?

  • Supernatural

  • holy shit that is scary

  • He is the chosen one

  • chuck norris on ice...

  • I think I figured it out. As the shot is slapped, its not on the ground, but a little in the air. It hits the goalies skates, and sends it into a spin. As it hits the ground, where the invisible wall seems to be, the spinning puck hits the ice, and bounces the other way, like a football spinning end over end.

  • Maybe he should taught that super bowl Darth Vader kid how to use the force.

  • every comment on this page has likes besides mine :(

  • i think he purposely made a little line in the ice with his skates

  • something to repel the puck in the bars of the net somewhere???

  • That's the cool thing about sports. Weird things happen! This is why I don't gamble on sports.

  • hmmmm. should have used the knuckle puck.

  • It went perfectly straight after master jedi Quick used the force on it too

  • looks like the puck flipped onto its edge and then ROLLED to the right

  • at first i was like WHAAAAAAAT?!?!?!? but after watching it from the 5 second mark like 30 times i think its a little bit of an optical illusion. The shot is not traveling on the ice, it is shoulder high in the air. The goalie hits it with the pad on his right hand knocking it down to the ice. either way this is still effing crazy

  • every comment on this page has thumbs up besides mine :(

  • Could it be that it had some spin on it?

  • The puck was obviously rotating at a high velocity like a bowling ball resulting in the change in direction.

  • The Volturi are not going to be happy with this exposition of their powers. They may enforce the laws of the supernatural world if this is seen by too many people.

  • could it that it had some english on it? not trying to debunk or anything but it looks practical.

  • I thunk it's George Bush"s fault.

  • Whats Up With All The Thumbs Up? lol (Thumbs Up)

  • I sense foul play here. Where is the laws of physics section in the rulebook.?

  • explain that one..........

  • more than likely was due to the spin on the puck its not magic
