  • i couldn't care less about amelia's sexuality, she was a legend.

  • @leedumett444 How dare you call her gay! She was NOT!

  • amelia comes across as a lesbian, but she was straight, and she is a legend.

  • @leedumett444 I can't understand why people are so obsessed with people's sexuality and want to slap labels on them. Even people who've been missing from the 1930s...lol. Leave it alone.

  • @charm1950 I agree-who should care? What does it mean,"comes across as a lesbian?"

  • airlines- $35 Airport

  • @itspeaks037 same with womens health

  • i think her plane ran out of gas and she didnt have enough to make it to the island and she crashed in the ocean and sank

  • @spicypeanut103 That should of had been true. My prediction too. :D

  • @spicypeanut103 Although... it is wierd. She was actually next to Howland Island, how could she not had been able to swim to land?

  • @icyshadow0 Weather conditions around Howland Island weren't good; she couldn't see the island in the first place, so had no idea which heading to take. Amelia and Fred Noonan had to ditch in the ocean after running out of gas. Even if they'd survived the ditching, which is unlikely, they'd have been in the ocean fighting swells, currents, and probably hypothermia and injuries, with nothing but sharks for company. They'd have had no idea which direction to swim in any case.

  • That has not been confirmed. Thay are in the process of testing it.

  • Thank you for share this wonderful and sad video

    for this special woman

  • awww this is awful, poor woman rip

  • i bet her plane crashed, she got amnesia, forgot who she was, lived her life not knowing, then died .

  • I AM GOING TO FIND HR I NEED TO

  • @breedbelly804 ..........Don't worry about Amelia. She called last week. She say's she fine and living in Hawaii now. She bought a cabin and has a kitten. I'll tell her you said hello!

  • @breedbelly804 They have, they found her finger bones!

  • @ilovemywebkinz57 That might not be hers.

  • The theory about Amelia Earhart's survival and secret repatriation as Irene Bolam is known since 1965, but no bit of proof of any kind was ever presented to support it. Moreover, in many aspects the theory contradicts both well proven facts and logic. Several certified forensic professionals studied the case in different times and all came to the same conclusion: Irene Bolam wasn't Amelia Earhart. Also there is no smallest bit of historic evidence even hinting somehow that AE was a gay.

  • I LOVE AMELIA AIR<3

  • To continue from the last post: Goerner concluded how Earhart likely died of dysentery on Saipan after Japan quietly relocated her there, although no body evidence was ever found for Earhart or Noonan. Recall the Sino-Japanese war started five days after Earhart and Noonan were reported missing. Tension between the U. S. and Japan grew, although 'pacifist Earhart' adored the Japanese culture and she was loved there like Babe Ruth was in the 1930s. See the Irene-Amelia website for more info.

  • One might wish all to agree on what the truth really was. In the 1960s CBS sponsored and endorsed its own radio journalist, Fred Goerner to deeply investigate what really happened to Amelia. People close to it were still alive then. In his best selling book from 1966, "The Search For Amelia Earhart," Goerner (and Admiral Nimitz who claimed to have inside information) avowed Earhart and Noonan, with enough fuel and without public fanfare, made it to the Marshalls where Japan rescued them. End.

  • she was an amazing hero to women and still is to me. her courage was encredible

  • Ugggg Female Drivers

she prolly crashed into a mountain while trying to apply lipstick

  • Many questions about Amelias sexuality linger. Lesbianism was very very frowned upon in the 1930s and most women kept it hidden and some covered it up with marriages and boyfriends. I believe she was a lesbian and great American icon. Even her friend Eleanor Roosevelt was suspected of being a lesbian. So what.

  • @whathoney73 she definitley looked like a rug chomper!

  • wow she is amazing she also built a rollercoaster in her backyard she was born in 1898

  • @jaylab2 no she was born in 1897

  • They say she was captured by Koreans 0.o

  • @volcomdude56 she wasnt near korea

  • Why is the lady trying to make Earhart seem like a God. She was very rude, egotistical, and an adulterer.

  • and the best damn inspiration in the world. She had guts. She accomplished more then you ever could.

  • if you think about it, i guess if i cared about trying to fly around the world and somehow end up "lost" then i would have guts and be accomplished "flyinryans"?

  • Where do you get the info that she was "very rude"? Perhaps somewhat self-obsessed rather than egotistical. As to adultery, she was certainly keen on Gene Vidal but according to his son Gore, Gene was not so keen on her so I would think they never consummated - unless anyone knows better?

  • A person that's "somewhat self-obsessed" would show characteristics of being rude or egotistical wouldn't they? But on the Gene Vidal point, that's very interesting, and good research. Also of note, Gore Vidal can remember back when he 12 years old the same year Earhart disappeared, about his dad's relationship with her. Unless they talked about it later on when Gore was a little older.

  • @spitfireJEJ i hope your right on the consummated issue.

  • Well at this remove and with all the main players sadly deceased I doubt if it matters whether they consummated or not. Egotistical characteristics perhaps but not necessarily rude methinks. The films show her as extremely polite. Vidal also states that after the war Mrs Roosevelt told him that she looked into the official records of her disappearnce and found nothing to support any conspiracy theory. By the time of the flight Earhart had grown to dislike Putnam and Noonan was indeed a drunk.

  • @spitfireJEJ . Mrs. Roosevelt told Gore Vidal that info or the father? I'm sure Vidal didn't say what the records said. If their was no conspiracy, then what happened? There's also a difference between a film and real life videos of her. Interesting thought, why would EARHART TAKE a drunk with her on a flight halfway across the world.

  • The info came to Gore directly from Eleanor. As to Noonan, he was very capable and experienced having been instrumental in navigating the PanAm flying boats over the Pacific. Earhart had been a social worker who had dealt with drunks and wasn't her own father one too? So presumably she thought she could handle Noonan's drinking. After all, we don't know that this issue contributed in any way to their fate do we? As to conspiracies, I will believe one when proof of same is unearthed.

  • @spitfireJEJ Yes that's a good point as usual with the drinking issue. Now as for Eleanor Roosevelt, if she told Vidal some info and he's withholding wouldn't that constitute some kind of crime or wrongdoing, simply because of the fact that he's hiding evidence of someone's fate and he's not a government official or law enforcement officer.

  • No one implied Gore Vidal was withholding anything. The whole point is that there is nothing to withhold. Until conclusive evidence emerges to the contrary, it is safe to assume she crashed and sank. TIGHAR are mounting yet another expedition to Nikamororu this year This was formerly Gardner Island where they stubbornly maintain she landed. However, in view of thier results to date I am not holdng my breath.

  • " The friskyBigot". Earhart was nowhere near feminine, seriously. But anyway isn't it ironic that after she made the disrespectful comment to her husband about how she would rather have fuel with her than her husband, she supposedly "runs out of gas" and disappears. Ironic huh, i guess what goes around comes around. Guess that comment bit her in the but.

  • The comment struck me as practical rather than disrespectful. And don't forget Putnam's relationship with her was a profitable two way street - he worked her very hard indeed.

  • @spitfireJEJ . I agree with you on the two way street, but at least Putnam always kept his cool and didn't let Earhart get under his skin on camera. I have watched quite a few videos, and it always seemed like he didn't matter to her.

  • Not in the romantic sense I quite agree.

  • @spitfireJEJ Not in any kind of sense. You seem very intelligent, do you mind telling me your age bracket, im in my mid 20's. Yes a guy my age that reads that far back into history.

  • Thank you for your flattering comment. I see no reason why a fellow your age should not read that far back - I did myself. To those who tediously claim this to be "uncool", I would always quote Satayana. "Those who fail to heed the lessons of history are condemmed to repeat it". To answer your question, I am 57.

  • @spitfireJEJ yeah that's cool, what other things do you no, as far as history goes. Any JFK, MLK, Zachary Taylor.

  • Well I know the basics of the above three but that is all - far less than a specialist would know. In general if you have no hard facts you are left with only opinion. Many plausible points of view can be advanced re Earhart and that is why conspiracy theories are so seductive. But being seductive does not make them true, only hard evidence does. I admire her enormously, but I have no idea if I would have liked her if we had met. Best to celebrate her achievements and let her rest in peace.

  • @spitfireJEJ I agree with you, i respect your knowledge and your take on the issue.

  • Dear All,

    I have some curious questions:

    (1) Since the first aeroplane was invented by Wright Brother in 1903, what does flying means to our society and the world?

    (2) What is aviation and flying means to female?

    (3) Why do ladies love flying, including me?

THANK YOU IN ADVANCE for your creative ideas and brainstorm!!! :)

P.S. I am a lady who enjoy flying.

  • 1. Not a lot.

    2. It means lots of rich men for them to choose from.

    3. It means lots of rich men for them to choose from.
