  • You know you have a plane when...

  • Which do you think would be louder under full throttle? A Concorde, A B1-B, or an SR-71?

Can you imagine all three of them doing a full afterburner fly-by side by side? That would definitely show up on the Richter Scale!

  • @maddogmcrae the Richter Scale would make an "OMFG!" face if that happened.

  • I know just how loud these monsters are. Used to live right in the path to the local bombing range in the area. Was out in the garage one day & suddenly hear this HUGE fat sound in the sky. I walked out I looked up and there was a B1. He was too low for a residential area fly over and then he lit it up! He was right above me... I was send to the ground almost instantly. I wasnt mad, I was in awe and just stared. Couldnt hear crap for awhile after that but still. LOL Free air show that day!

  • @Starscreamf15 A B1 did something like that at the Toronto Airshow a few years ago. After that final fly-by, the airshow announcer said that it was louder than Shiela Copps during Question Period.

*Shilea Copps was a very annoying politician in Canada who could keep her mouth shut during debates in Parliament.

  • Happiness is four afterburners in perfect harmony!

  • Thats where my school bus went. God damnit, I missed school today.

  • I wish the Toronto Island Airport could accommodate these planes. That'll give the waterfront condo owners and the Centre Island squatters something to bitch about.

  • @maddogmcrae ROTFLMAO!!

  • I worked on these jets as an engine technician for over 5 years. The first thing I learned after arriving at the base was to reset the sensitivity of my car alarm. Even parked about 2 miles from the runway, it would go off whenever they took off. Still, I think that the FB-111A that I used to work on was louder, and it only had two engines. It had a completely different pitch to the sound.

  • Have slight hearing issues in my right ear from these babies. One time at Nellis, they started APU's when we didn't have our ear defenders on and we were still loading the mid bomb bay. I could hardly hear anything for about an hour.

  • I worked on the B1 86-88 and loved it worked for Rockweel intl at Edwards AFB calif. Little did I know my child hood friend would lose his life on sept,19,1997 Crew members killed were Col. Anthony Beat, the pilot, Maj. Clay Culver, Maj. Kirk Cakerice and Capt. Gary Everett, RIP Kirk and your buddies to.

  • Gary Everett son of Herbert and Dorothy Everett was my Uncle. I' am the son of his only sister... To this day I've not trusted a word of what the air force or media had to offer about the "accident". My uncle was a genius whose intellect could have only lead him to certain disaster within a military that will "suicide" the free of mind.

I mean no disrespect. Among my blood relatives he and my now deceased grandfather were the only ones to which I could truly relate.

  • If my conclusion on the matter borders on treasonous thinking then so be it. I believe my uncle either not on the plane to begin with or was deliberately exterminated for knowledge he had acquired while in service about some our countries darkest secrets.

If I should ever have another chance to do so, I will retrieve and examine more closely the hard drive from the computer he left us... In the mean time you should become an Oathkeepers and inform yourselves. A good source is Alex Jones...

  • @LinkageBlacklustre perhaps he knew exactly what you suspect and made the choice to give his life for his country fully understanding that his sacrifice would help protect this nation. It wouldn't be the first time the United States of America needed a life to aid in her defense. We will never know those who made the greatest sacrifices. Those heros who knew theirs would never be revealed

  • Dare I say it, THAT is the sound of freedom ladies and gentlemen.

If this base was in New Zealand, someone would complain and get the base shut down. You guys kick ass :-)

  • Living in Wichita, McConnell AFB used to have a squadron of B1's. Believe me, You could hear them taking off clear across town, 15+ miles away.

  • When a B1-B takes off using afterburner, it is the loudest jet currently in use by the Air Force that I'm aware of. I was stationed at Nellis AFB in the Nevada desert, and we had plenty of F-16's and F-15's, which have one and two jet engines, respectively. They are very loud when taking off in afterburner. In comparison, the B1-B has FOUR of these engines. I wish someone would post one of these taking off a night. It's even more impressive.

  • Loud isn't the word for this thing, it's fucking LOUD!

  • Even the cars love the B1-B, they gave it a standing ovation.

  • wow.... if i lived in the suburbs around there, no doubt i would of recognized that rocket-like noise!

One thing i heard about the b-1b is that no hostile missiles can catch it....

  • A beautiful sight! Well done, dude. I love this bird at the airshows.

  • Beau-da-fulllllll!

  • one of the cooooooooooolezzzzz bomber in the world..!

  • Man, I miss that plane :(

  • from brake release to airborn in just under 20 seconds

  • Great plane, seen it a couple of times at airshows and not only does it set off car alarms, it sends a shiver down your spine. Wouldn't want to meet one in a dark alley.

  • I want to see the B1 v Concorde!

  • Great video. Never seen it go from taxy to take off before and the added bonus of car alarms going off

  • I love this aeroplane.

    Oh and sight*

  • What an awesome site and noise
