what is the sign for mary? i am trying to learn this song. i have wanted to for a long time and youre fluent signing has inspired me to go through with it!
beautiful. i love doing this song for church. though i need to practice more continually on my sign. ive gotten really rusty. and i hardly remember asl syntax well anymore. but you did a great job. :)
I am very impressed. I have been looking at loads of different interpretations and this one is the best so far. Even my church (which I won't knock, (is a deaf church) I wasn't impressed as much as this one. I moved to Fla. and will sign this version for our church on the 24th. Thanks so much for doing this. Diane
I'm going to do it to make it dramatic, because its a drama, but on the other hand I've been an actual interpreter in my church so I'd also like to know which way is best to do it...Are the rules different for dramma than for actual interpreting?
To answer your question. I had ordered DVD's that help teach Christmas Songs in ASL. During the DVD she tells us that we have to set things up in ASL word order. I do not know the other one that you watched but it could be English word order. I think that regardless of what one you decide to sign, people will really adore it. I hope you did wonderful!
I'm doing a sign drama tommmorow in church (with blacklight) and I practiced using her signs... (and using what I already knew mixed in).... It's kinda too late for me to change it completely... so I'm not going to, but I am going to mix in a couple of your signs as well... is it incorrect to mix (English and ASL) like that?...
Dumb question... but I wanted to ask anyway. You did it different than the other girl who posted her video... this isn't to knock her or you or anything... but did she do it wrong? Or is her's the English version sign and yours American sign...
who's video are you talking about??? if its mine, i didnt do it in english, i dont think, lol, i am more pigion then anything, i like to mix, most of the deaf around me are pigion (i think i spelled that right) but any ways, no one does it wrong unless the signlanguage is completely made up, although diffrent regions have diffrent signs. im form Ohio, were are you from?? ttyl bye
That was great!
