I worked there for a time in the mid 80s. All of the residents I worked with were elderly. My work was part of my college pre-nursing course. I loved the work here, and I loved the residents. I also worked at Laughton Lodge when it was a mental institutution and loved it there too. All the residents were in a suspended state of childhood (at least the ones I worked with). Some of my happiest memories of working were at Hellingly and Laughton Lodge.
Great production! you do realise that place is haunted right? Now it is is heavilly guarded night and day so that nobody can go near it. One day your images might become quite valuable.
I haven't realise something like that to be honest but it was really difficult to get into the building.. They saw me after 30 minites and they asked me to go out.
They building now luxury flats as they told me..
Anyway... it was really interesting place to visit..
If you know other abandoned places like that let me know, because most of them today are heavily guarded as they belong to goverment...
