Indian food, has a cheese called "Paneer", and that's how it's made. It actually taste good because the curd doesn't retain the vinegar flavor... it was in the left over liquid... but anyway if you strain the curd enough, form it into a ball... then salt the outside.... and bake it. its used as a replacement of chicken in a lot of dishes... same concept as tofu.
I made some things with the casein plastic and hid them from my cat while they were drying. But on the 4th day the cat found them and ate them >.<. So what can i use to protect them? Is there a coating or something i can mix into it? thanks.
Ricotta Cheese ftw. Lol.. and dude those cheese curd looking like things, are cheese curds. If you had a piece of cheese cloth, you could make ricotta cheese and get a good cheese from that. -_- Hilarious though.
not telling u much, im working on a portable console, and i want to design it with plastic parts(like all consoles)....can i use THIS kind of plastic YOU make to make the parts i need?
If this homemade casein is anything like what manufacturers use in consumer products, you should probably point out that it does not hold up well if exposed to water for prolonged periods of time. Swells and deforms, as many owners of fountain pens made with casein find out the hard way when they leave a section to soak to loosen old ink. Does not turn out well. ;)
I made an iPhone/ iPod touch dock, and it's able to hold it in both landscape and portrait positions. My iPods case is used to determine if it'll hold it. It's drying at the moment, and no I won't sell it, it's too crappy. But I will start using cardboard to hold a flat shape and food coloring for next time. Thanks for this video. 5/5 stars. I wish I could of rated 100 stars instead of the maximum 5 stars. :)
@inomnetempusgratia except i have no intention of ever posting another video of this type. i did it for no other reason other than fun. and i dont even give a shit if its good or not, like i said there are a bunch more out there, im not insecure. besides you were the one complaing it was to long. i couldnt care less how many views or how good the over all video is. i made in entrirely for fun.
it doesnt matter, but whole milk or 1% probly works best because the calcium and fat condences when you add the vinegar. also it doesnt matter really what the milk to vinegar ratio is, you can experiment with it. i reccomend 8:1 milk to vinegar
it doesnt become rock hard like real plastic because its just a simple acid/base substance but if you leaave it in a bright ventalated area (lke in a window or outside on a hot day)it might solidify

orkiwutz 2 years ago
it kind of does becaue if you use too to much the "plastic" wont set quite right
but you are mostly right
it takes lots of vinegar to screw it up :)

VisionQuest2012 2 years ago
it does harden
but only for a certain amount of time
then it can get crumbly
it realy depends on how much of the ingredients you use i hope that helped :)
imthbst 2 years ago
so does it really harden up like plastic? or is it more "flubbery" like you said like a bouncy ball?
and yes i realize both are plastic, but you get the idea
