I am about to change my second hand Nokia N95 casing. I realized that someone had already changed the casing. The problem is that in order to unscrew the screws they did not use a T5 screw. I can only unscrew one. The other three from the slide have a rounded shape instead of the star shaped. Is there a way to remove them without forcing too much the slide and damage the screen? Thanks

oh everything that i could have done wrong, i did.

i bought a n95 8gb case, didn't take the screws out and craked the original case, lost the keypad and threw away the packaging so i couldn't take the cover back.

by i don't think its a star shaped srewdriver you need i think its an alan key because i have the correct size srewdriver but it dosn't grip.

but don't take my word for it, i broke my case!

well the outer back housing just snaps you can find lots of vids on that on youtube. but if you want to change th upper and bottom plate youll have to remove some scews. ill be posting a video response to this vid on how to do that.

you can but you will have to take out the mic n this piece of wiring that is stuck to that piece and put it on your new one!

wait, did you just get the cover as in faceplate or the whole housing set? also what do you mean by big screwdriver? But u can possibly use a flathead screw driver if its the right size. i dunno the sizes but just find one that will fit but not too loose or else ur gonna mess up the screw.

I really do not reconmend this, but if you use a 1.4mm flathead precision screwdriver, you can undo these screws. However, be very gentle as you can very easily chew the screws thread. Also, you will not be able to tighten the screws completely.

You'll need to ask him for a torx (5+) screwdriver. However I don't know if these are easy to come by. The screwdriver is 'star shaped' if that's any help lol

The front cover of the n95 8gb, has a perspex cover protecting the LCD. So if you scratch this, it's so easy and cheap to replace. However, if you do manage to scratch the LD underneath, it's a whole new ball game.
