I fancied one - but it appeared, unbelievably, that is isn't mac compatible. I sent them a query on this through their website and asked, if it was true, when it would be Mac friendly. Two months on - NOTHING.
Then a couple of weeks ago I had a survey from them asking how I liked the Paper Show I had bought!!! I responded again with my questions. NOTHING
It's not really designed for students - it's not for note taking - it's for interactively annotating presentations you're making. In terms of new supplies, Oxford sell the pads or you can print them if your printer is high enough quality.
A different product - Livescribe Pulse smartpen lets you take notes and record the sound at the same time. You can then play back the relevant part of the lecture by touching the notes you made on the pad (or clicking the notes on the electronic version(.
Well its a smart device but i dont think it is some thing a student could use. First you would need a lot of room for both your computer and your writing pad. Secondly its expensive because i would use the whole stack in just two lectures. Where would i buy a new stack of those special interactive papers. ?

DON'T BUY PAPER SHOW
They clearly don't care about customers.
