@cockshield It's refreshing to hear it until you consider the fact that the blackish man is trying to convince the white guy to sell him some crystal meth..
oh no, cannot have anymore of these Gus on Walt talks since 1 half is now dead, I wonder what will be Walt's motivation to continue cooking, maybe becuse his dumb bitch wife blew 600,000 on Ted, and now after all this he has nothing to show for it ha ha...... how much does he have left anyways?
Giancarlo Esposito deserves an emmy only for this scene!!! The voice, the facial expressions, the timming for say the words, what an amazing actor!!! At the top of his skills.
i wonder if Gus had a family that might come into play.. im more than sure that his Pollos partner will come in at season 5 though.. Wonder whats going to happen to Mike as well.. Hmm, wheres the new lab gonna be? Guess ill wait :P
@Kapo465 I'm fairly certain there's going to be some bad news coming up from Chile. I mean, how could Gus pay for that one guys 2 degrees entirely, without being some sort of big deal
The whole speech is true, though. Men should always take care of their family. Any men who neglects that because they arent getting back are poor human beings.
Awesome scene - just loved how Walter was finally able to manipulate Gus (exploiting his pathological hatred of Hector) after being manipulated by him for so long. Speaking of family, I don't recall there being any mention that Gus had a family but I predict Walt will be getting visitors (maybe from Chile) next season who are pretty pissed that Gus got his ticket punched. And of course, Mike will probably be none too pleased...
Gus just reads Walt like an open book in this scene. He knows how much Walter desires appreciation from his family, and he exploits that to get him cooking again.
@TheLeoOfCostaRica But in the end, Walt exploits Gus' emotions to get him to walk right into a trap at the nursing home. The season finale has proved that Walt is the better "Gus." Walt is the master manipulator who uses Gus' lust for revenge and Jesse's innocence to "win." Walt, my friends, is the true danger.
I hate when people that watch the show complain on how slow it is. Half of the show is this, people talking. The other half is the action and the action is spaced out. Don't need it every episode. More about the story.
@scottieman2 - dude, BrBa its like not even slow show - but a deep show filled with morals. Most guys don't ven know what it is to be a MAN. And here, you got Gus detailing what a MAN is all about. But instead we get replies from idiotic immature boys/college drop-outs/jobless bums living at home with mommy and daddy when they don't even appreciate the hard work their parents/ or even what a father does to PROVIDE for their family. That's what a real man is all about. Great speech Gus. Bravo.
@Elwebon00 I know what the speech is about. What I mean is that people complain on the Facebook page saying how slow it is. I am sticking up for BB. It's all about the story and how things interconnect with each other. People need to realize the meanings behind every action and scene even when the characters are just sitting around chit chatting, talking, hanging out.
@mpbarry46 That's because people don't get the show is more then just Walt getting the money it's about what you do in life, how you do things, all that moral stuff.
@JohnMooreification Tell me about it. It's stuff like this is what makes the show. Plus when they do use violence and action is to help the plot and is when it is needed. NOT to please people. People getting killed is to prove a point or is justified. Makes more chilling of a scene.
@scottieman2 thank you for saying this..what makes the show amazing is the character development, the tension and suspense of the show that leads up to the action
@Mropticalgreen That's the point of episodes that are on TV. They spread it out so that you want to see it. Can't just have the whole season in one night. Then everyone be like "wow, that's a fast season."
When Gus said this it reminded me of a quote said by Andrew Ryan in Bioshock:
"A man chooses. A slave obeys."
