This reminds me somewhat of a conversation I had with my dad a few years after our family moved to America. I agree wholeheartedly. It is good to assimilate to your surroundings, but one must never lose site of their true origins. Although those origins may be difficult to embrace, they should still be embraced no matter what. In Clark's situation he at least had the luxury of being able to "conceal" his true origins.

But as he learns that the department is corrupt he slowly thinks he needs to return back to his vigilante ways but that should be way later in the series.The plot is about dealing wit corruption and the city of bludhaven while trying to break away from batman drama which is hard

Clark has grown more confident now in who he is. He had no plan on how to deal with Zod. He did have a plan against the Phantom on the second and third encounter. During the first encounter Bizarro didn't know the Sun weakened him and Clark was given that information and had the advantage in the second encounter. The third time Brainiac told Clark to use Blue kryptonite.

Well Clark is pretty impulsive/emotional, so it makes sense that Jonn would be overly expressive to get his point across to Clark. Clark is like a moth to a flame when it comes to responding to injustice and danger, and yet idle 'til there is a crisis. Much of Jonn's lectures focuss on the larger picture, that is he tells Clark that emotions are dangerous in situations with lots of emotions and that he needs to train now in the fortress for the coming menaces.

In the comics (most of them), Martin Manhunter is actually stronger than Superman. He can do everything superman does, except he has no kryptonite weakness and has psychic abilities. They just weaken him in smallville/justice league cause superman is thought to be the strongest by the audience.
