This is an amazing LP no doubt but there are some misinformed inviduals out there. Mr 71 farhan, Mr Roger Glover is the original bass player and founding member of this band. Mr. David Covrdale didn't join until the LP "Burn" and then went on to form Whitesnake.

I hope this clears up any confusion.

@71farhan (1) Blackmore didn't leave the band until '75. Stormbringer was released in 1974. (2) Blackmore is listed on the album as the co-writer with David Coverdale. I could be completely wrong and missed an interview in which Blackmore said he had nothing to do with it. Also Hughes and Coverdale were part of the Mark III lineup, the following were the original band: vocalist Rod Evans, guitarist Ritchie Blackmore, bassist Nick Simper, drummer Paice and keyboardist Jon Lord.

@cardsfan42303 Ritchie was there (his playing is unmistakeable, innit?) he just didn't enjoy the funk direction that Coverdale/Hughes was dragging the band into....so he made the the 1st Rainbow album, in secret, around the same time and it wasn't until it was done (and quite good) that he decided to "officially" leave. That is why there's not a lot of classic Blackmore riffs...he was saving them all for Rainbow! But to my ears, Stormbringer sounds like a Rainbow song...especially the solo.
