I made the previous comment before I saw & read about the child abuse. These children have been SEVRERELY ABUSED in every way. I hope you finally got custody of your children & taken away from that mentally incapacitated mother figure. I pray you were able to help all those poor children!

@venuslock35 Nope, the kids are still living with their dysfunctional mom. And now the 19 year old is in jail for a sex assault on a child who was the age of one younger sister. Mom still doesn't get them to school or appointments, on time or even at all sometimes, and doesn't bring them to visitation with their dad. This is all under the "protective supervision" of Department of Human Services now, and they just let all this happen.

@procrastistamper Appalling, absolutely APPALLING! Isn't thr anything else that can b done 2 protect ur children? Since the Neglectful Dept of Children & Families won't step in, mayb thr's anthr agency that can b contacted...I will ask some friends I kno in law enforcement & see if they kno of ANYTHING ELSE that can possibly b done 2 help these poor abused children. Mayb anthr agency that hasn't been thot of yet... BTW, my name is Laura.

In 3rd world countries peopel live in filth worse than this and survive...they have no choice.

But you do bring up a good point that a mother figure isnt always better than a father figure at raising children...Judges incorrectly assume that a mother is and will always be better at raising kids then a father could be

BTW-This neglectful mom was given custody of all the kids at the end of May 2009. We think perhaps the mental health "professional" on the case, who gave her the custody, was paid off by mom's rich parents. Dad can have NO contact with any of them, so mom (and 4 time sex offending 16 year old brother) are free to do whatever they want to the two girls who were rescued out of this home. Mom even got a founded report of neglect (made by the school) of one of the kids AFTER this incident. Pathetic.

I was disgusted by the treatment of the home and its belongings--the antiques were trashed. Tons and tons of valuable silver pieces, china, and dinnerware were strewn all over the house and left for trash months later. Even 6 months after the home was empty, dishes WITH FOOD LEFT ON THEM were still piled in the kitchen. Spoiled veggies were in the fridge. Very nasty--she wouldn't even clean the home for it to be listed for sale. Her ex and I had to do it. Nasty.

Watching the video further I have to add...the antique furniture is similar to what my grandparents owned, which is what my parents now have. They are beautiful pieces. It's a shame this was how similar pieces are treated here...which is nothing compared to how the children were treated.

Wow. Wow. How horrible of the state to turn a blind eye to this situation. Where I live the children would have been removed in a heartbeat. I really hope their two sons can get professional help, and so does the mother!

Thanks for your comments, I hope we can keep the awareness going. BTW, this mom has a degree from Wellesely College, and was raised with tons of money, so neither lack of education or poverty can be claimed as an excuse. We are doing our best to limit mom's time with the girls, and have them in individual therapy. Unfortunately, every time they see mom (still at least 1x per week), they are emotionally abused again. At the last visit, mom "teased" the older girl by driving away without her.

It is truly saddening to see that kids had to live in such a disgusting and neglectful home. I am very sad to hear how the boys turned out, and knowing it was due to how they were raised and in such filth. I send my wishes in hope that the girls are o.k. I hope that the mother NEVER has contact with these kids again. The way she raised them was abusive, just in a non-violent way. I'm am so disgusted with her. I have posted this video on my web site. Shocking and disgusting! What a shame that the courts in Colorado aren't adequately protecting children from this kind of neglect.
