Incredibly misleading... $2 per day sounds low to people from rich nations but in a poor nation $2 is a lot more. Culture also plays a huge role - do Chinese farmers or tribal communities really need to be fully literate/have a computer to enjoy life? Why impose our ideals on other peoples?! I call shinannegans!

I am not feeling lucky that I am in the top 75%, I feel lucky that my great grand parents had the brains, and the sense of adventure to come to this great nation called the U.S.A. I have lived on the streets, I credit myself for gettting off of the street, choices are not lucky. Well maybe a little lucky, but action is far more likely a positive influence on a persons social status.

There is only one way everyone can live like middle-class americans and thats to decrease the population. This video makes it look like we are the cause of their misfortunes. But it's completely arbitrary, economies are made up and imaginary things. What really matters is unstrained natural resources. The only way to get that is to decrease the worlds population.

Try paying attention in Econ next time, people say that the only way for everyone to live well is to reduce the population. Try getting everyone to cooperate, instead of kill, rape, or exploit one another. Just for the record, maybe I wasn't clear, but I totally agree with you. Population ISN'T the problem. Maybe it's easy for western countries to say that, because the more developed a nation, the lower the birth rate. The real problem is the amount of injustice in the world through corrupt governments and lawlessness. My point was Malthus was WRONG.

Many of the divisions of Christianity the video groups together are night and day when it comes to core beliefs. Saying that Christian's are 'smug' is stereo-typing. Ask most Christians I know how good they are, they'll tell you they aren't good at all. Christianity provided the moral base for western civilization as we know it today. Just because you want to rationalize your lifestyle by equivcation and some Christians aren't like that doesn't mean you should call them smug.

exellent video. i once had a wise teacher that made us act out that piece of writing in a play. we each had one line to read when we where done we had to fall to the ground as if we where dead to symbolise that every 3 seconds a person in the world dies of hunger poverty etc. thanks for reminding me.
