I know it's Antoine Renard/Jean-Baptiste Clément who composed, but can anyone tell me the exact name of the musician for this particular version at all please?
Funny how, being French myself, I've heard so many versions of this song, and the only one that truly captures its beauty, for me, is sung by a Japanese singer. It's simple, voice and piano, but it's so effective. Thank you so much for this video that brought tears to my eyes. Merci :)
@thecelticspirit I was looking for the best version of this to add to my playlists. Other versions sounded very sad. You are so correct about the beauty captured in this version! And I learned of this song from a friend in Greece! My 700 playlists 'sont l'histoire de la musique'. I added this 1866 song to my Music of 1860s playlist. I have 112 lists for every year since 1900 & slowly add older songs as I find them. á la prochaine . . . chuck

フランス人の歌手が歌っていると思っていたら、違っていた。このフランス語版がやっぱり好きですね。このメロディーとフランス語のな途切れず流れるような音感が重なってなんとも気持ちがいい。

@mitchadamchilds Tokiko Kato is the singer. She's fairly well known in Japan and did this version for the movie Porco Rosso.
