i saw this band live @ glasgow last night and it was 100% the best live performance i've ever been to. i haven't see a band quite so musically talented who played as enthusiastically as Foals. you DEFINITELY have to experience them live to appreciate them fully. also i lost both my shoes by the second song, things got a bit rough, it was awesome. :D
no no, i think you missed what i was saying. no doubt these guys are extremely talented composers, but when they play live they go off on their own little trips. that's what i meant.
which is very true cos if you watch other performances of this song you'll see how its different in many ways (in a good way of course cos foals are awsome )
that's what makes a good band great. the ability to lose yourself in it and just go with it, and your bandmates are right there in the same state of mind as you.
his voice fits in perfectly with the style of music!!
yeah, the guitar parts are not very hard but they're trying to prove that you don't have to be really good at playing guitar to make really good music!!!
yeh, I know the structure quite well because I'm addicted to Foals, but we (my friends and I) had a go at performing this for music and they couldnt get their heads around the parts and structure of the song lol
i would, except they're liquid shit. and more to the point, i just meant rythmically, espcially on big big love. sorry if i offended you with my verbs.
there was a demo version on an NME cd from last summer maybe... maybe it wasnt from that far back, i can't remember. it's more up tempo than the album version but the vocals arent as clear
they have the live version on the bonus CD anyway altough im thrilled with the album even if some of the songs sound slightly different it still a fantastic debut from a great new talent
i think the album version is ... different. I have the original I suppose I could make the MP3 available, but that wouldn't be too cool. There's another version I have when they played live in the studio in Austin last year that's pretty good and downloadable. Can't find it now though.
Hello i'm loving their stuff went to see them last week in Manchester and have fallen in love, but the album is so different to their live renditions. And what you have are amazing the best on Y.T. i would pay for the mp3 and would not upload them anywhere!
this song kicks ass!

Just looked up the lyrics to this song to find out that he's singing in french in the verse, i thought i just couldn't understand him!
"Un peu d'air sur la terre" (A bit of air on the ground)...

Their singer has a uniqueness to his voice that just makes you want to listen to him more.
Prankcalls101 3 years ago 15
yes, i agree. yannis is very distinct and seems very genuine. i love his style. their guitar work rocks!!!
magicpie77 3 years ago 7
it's weird, they've said in interviews they suck at guitar, but a lot of the guitar parts are really difficult
wonderfulwomp 3 years ago
their guitar riffs are piss easy but for some reason they sound great.
henzos1 3 years ago 2
The guitar parts are simple. It's the composition that's good.
tommyk77 3 years ago 3
YES
also, some guitar parts are quite hard, especially rhythmically...
i would say yannis' voice is quite bad, but its his energy which makes up for it.
EvilGeniusWithGuns 3 years ago
he's an energetic little guy on stage. it looks like sometimes he's playing with his hair or hitting his head.
and I love the hard and cutoff guitar riffs, gives the song this edgy sound.
neonfoxincolour 3 years ago
my ass their guitar is hard
u go learn some this town needs guns and come back and tell me that foals' guitar is hard
