Is that the stock Eminence speaker? Hearing this makes me want a Fulltone OCD. My EVJ is getting modified for gain right now but I'm still looking for something to push the front of it. All the other demos of the OCD I've heard sound like classic rock or bluesy stuff. I don't want anything that sounds pre-1978 if you catch my drift. I would play this tone all day.

Thanks!! Real life volume would be a really a comfortable bedroom volume or a master volume amp on say 2. I had the same problem as you- get yourself a attenuator you'll love it.

The weber in the clip is actually a 25 watt. 60 watt will do fine

I read on the weber website that sometimes amps can use up to 50% more than the rated clean wattage when cranked up, so you might want to get something above 50 watts for your other amp.

the 50w weber will handle the 60w amp just fine at band volumes without the amp maxed out,but.. If you have the amp near maxed and want to knock it down to bedroom level you will need higher rated weber like the 100w.

the 60w is really only doing 60w at full blast

Excellent work schenker69, sounds great, especially for that little 8" speaker! At only 5watt rating, get the power tube driven hard for excellent power tube overdrive WITHOUT going deaf. And it's a very cool looking amp. I also like the looks of the not quite released Peavey Windsor Studio 12"combo 15-20watt amp w/spring reverb, power spunge attenuator(!), XLR mic simulated lineout at $399USA. Thanks for showing off the VJ, great amp!

This is pretty impressive tone coming from a stock VJ. I just bought a super modded one, and it sounds awesome. So much more gain.

Glad to see the Fulltone OCD reeeally brings out the best of the VJ, though.

I have not hooked the combo up to a cab yet. But I have done this with the head version. I must say with an attenuator and od it's a mini-monster. Great tone and loud.

jtriffo => You surely don't own a 5W tube amp. A 5W tube amp is only half the power of a 50W tube amp. You can imagine how LOUD this little bugger is now I guess. I own a VJ combo, when I play it pot on 10 in my basement my neighbours who live in a house at 50m can actually tell me what I was playing from inside their house!

What do you think of the weber mass? I hear some people love it and and others hate it, how much does it affect the tone at low attenuation (maybe like 10 db off)?

I'm a nut when it comes to tone. The Weber kicks ass. If the tone is affected in anyway it's very minor. Nothing to make you crazy. My amp sounds a million times better with the attenuator than without it thats for sure.
