Attention to detail & depiction of this clown’s idiosyncrasies were excellent. I’ve been known to take a wiz while standing, from time to time & for some time, up & down several walls, in Germany, Holland & England. (European, I’m a pee’in…its all good.) The comedy at end ruined what could almost have been a good message for men to be men. Typical of these last days where men's masculinity is being compromised as Jesus said, Men's hearts shall fail them for fear. @ckmn101 Well the video itself really doesn't, it only shows how idiotic his interpretation is. But we did a hermeneutics project on 1 Kings 14:10 and we fully exegeted the scripture in class, but weren't able to get a video of that. But this video was just made to show how dangerous it is to take passages out of context and to put a creative/funny spin on it.

I am doing the exact opposite. I hold the Word of God unbelievably high (i.e. Inerrant, Authoritative, Inspired). I do this so much so that a few people and I made this "spoof" video to show how dangerous it is when people inadequately exegete and preach scripture. Steven Anderson is a preacher who rarely interprets scripture from its original context, but immediately jumps to our context and makes it mean what he wants it to. This passage was an example of that.

Thanks agoodwin320. As a Christian I have some reservations about what you guys did, but I must admit I enjoyed it, and it clearly shows the serious dangers of mis-using holy scripture.

Anderson has no formal education and he has states that he believes attending a Bible School or Seminary is "unscriptural". Yet, he mangles scripture, mixes concepts, and possesses a haugty and prideful spirit. I pray for him. He has many talents that could be used to share rthe gospel accurately.

His point was about backing up a twisted view of masculinity. I'm all for encouraging men not to be passive saying that those who pee sitting down are passive or that all -passive men pee sitting down is ridiculous and has nothing to do with what God was referring to in that verse. And the disciples although zealous for Him did the Wrong thing in that and Jesus stated that in those verses. Men do need to step up but degrading them won't help neither will twisting verses.

Maybe I didn't correct his teaching with the utmost gentleness, but the same 2 Timothy 2:15 says Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth" I seek in all I do to rightly handle the word of truth and after we showed this video in class we fully exegeted...

this passage. We weren't able to video that part, but our efforts were made to make Pastor Anderson aware of how dangerous it is to falsely handle the word of God. And this same Paul who wrote 1 Timothy uses sarcasm in 1 Corinthians 1:12-13 as a form of rebuke to the people of Corinth. There weren't literal disciple groups of Paul, Apollos, Cephas(Peter), and Christ. Paul was using this to show how dumb their behavior was, by stating "is Christ divided?" Hope this is of some help.

We in making this video never intended on bringing down the name of God or Christ. Also, we never bashed or corruptly spoke of Pastor Anderson only concerning his over zealous and false exegesis. He took this passage completely out of context and it seems that he did this to get a reaction from rather his congregation or those who watch on the internet. And in the Ephesians 4:29 reference when it says to "impart grace" this means to benefit others rather than corrupt them through what is said.

So I believe our goal was to benefit Pastor Anderson in seeking out some more biblical study and our hopes were to show 1) how improper exegesis can falsely lead a congregation (just to make "good preaching" and 2) that Pastor Anderson would see how truly ridiculous he sounds, when he is seriously attacking this issue. I do believe we need more Godly men in the church today, but this passage (1 Kings 14:10) has absolutely nothing to do with it. God Bless

There is a difference between a male and a man. The Bible meant males, not just grown men. Everyone that pees standing up includes young male children, and they were also to be killed. A man by Biblical census standards was a "male" 20 years and older (war going age). But let's not let accuracy get between us and a good rant about absolutely nothing.

So, you sir, just may be a male by that standard, but you are still free to pee standing up if you'd like. Or you may sit down. I doubt God cares.

In Hebrew tradition, a boy was adopted by his own parents as a son and heir at age 13. Previously, he was educated by a slave who took care of them. The slave is the schoolmaster that is being alluded to in Galatians 3. So technically he is man enough to be the man of the house, but in the Old Testament, when a count is given of the men, it was war going men only (age 20 and up).
