  • what is the spindle rpm which v carve bit is used, can give me the name, is it the straight edge carbide one ? Just make a post or video of your bit collection because choosing right bit is very important

  • @karandex Sorry i do not remember for this video, and i used different speeds an bits for the different engravings.

Take a look at some other video's as they might answer your questions...

Also have a look at my website with some more info...

flat engravings would indeed be done by straight edge solid carbide bits (1 flute).

Use 'climb milling' and cool it with air (the blue hose in the vid)

  • So you are using the same as I am

  • so you are using the same as I am

  • Are you using Vectric v-carve?

  • @bigbigjimbo

This could be done by vcarve indeed, although this one is done with artcam

  • @bigbigjimbo So you are using the same as I am. your pieces are of very good quality i checked your website ....Like.

  • Top, top job!!!!

    Such a great end result!

I don't think I've seen it anywhere? How long did this take?

I've had a wander around your website last week too.... Very nice work :)

Now I'm going to have to go and see how much you want for these types of sign.... Then I'll have to think of something to write on one ! :)

Love the router dancing too LOL. Very upbeat tune as well.... Quite far from my own choices. But fit the vid' very well. :)

    Ralph.

  • Thanks again Dividedhead...

About the result, well everybody using CNC can make it I think,

but most dont try the 3D and V-carve and stay with the 2D engravings..

True my website you can use the contact form if you have sort of design you want.

Or use the email adres info ad ....

The music is not really my thing to, but i just search to the correct audio length :)

  • I can't believe how well everything that you have made has come out soo well. Really you do an excellent job. I hope to see more and learn as much as I can. Your truly a guru for all of us. Thanks

  • Thanks a lot Matt..

I only show the excellent jobs :)

Of course for me its the same as any other, a lot of new things fail the first time and get refined before the cam starts recording :)

Thanks for calling me a Guru.. Im only in the CNC hobby for a few months.. so thats nice to hear..

And thanks for rating the vid ;)

  • what do you use as far as software goes to make this happen?

  • Well There are a lot of different ones that could do this, in this case its Artcam.

Cheaper would be Vectric V-carve pro or aspire i think..

  • What do those programs put out, what types of files?

  • Artcam is the design software and can be saved with the art extension.

But after processing by artcam there is a text file made called Gcode that has all the coordinates for the machine controller (Mach3)

  • Cool thanks, btw I love your cnc, how you did it, costom parts and all!

  • Thanks, always nice to hear... Lots to come so stay tuned :) and don't forget to vote ;)

  • wow

  • Its good to know the the man of leds it self likes this project.. :)

    Thanks...
