Awesome! Say, ever heard Dick Gaughan playing the 51st Highland Divisions Farewell to Sicily? I think you'd find it interesting, it's on Youtube if you care to look into it. Again, very well played.
There was somebody just now (Apr 21,2011) who posted a link to this video on the Banjo Hangout for 55,000 of us banjo pickers to enjoy, as an example of the incredible diversity of songs which may be done on the banjo. Thank you for making the video. I liked it.
Magnificent! I love Celtic tunes on the banjo--especially in clawhammer style. You did a great job playing 'em, too. Thanks for posting this. It brightened my day. Thumbs up to you.
@jumpoffmountaineers It's a trick! The drones are just a sound effect using a 'soft-synth'. I thought it would add to the bagpipe sound. Thanks for your interest.
Brilliant! The clawhammer style fits perfectly; hope you`ll post more.
I had the great pleasure of attempting, on the banjo(finger style), to accompany the legendary piper Alasdair Fraser of Achiltibuie in the northwest Highlands of Scotland a few years back; felt like a "lost ball in the tall weeds" for the most part but had a good time trying to keep up. I`ve got a couple of uploads on YouTube; try "Bagpipes and Banjo".
Well bagpipes and banjo happen to be too of my favorite instruments, this is awesome
