  • I still won't forget the first time I watched Chuggaa's Mother 3 Let's Play. I can watch it over and over and over again but never stop myself from crying when Hinawa's voice echoes, "Makes Us Proud..."

  • I cried so much ;n;

  • I cried so much at this game

  • Itoi sure likes to ride himself.

  • wasn't as good as earthbound.

  • @do0rkn0b It was just as good, even better to most people.

  • @1xCloudStrifex1 nah, not even close.

  • @do0rkn0b Well, I guess you like what you like, right? Mother 2 is my personal favorite as well and Mother 3 touched me in a way that no other game has. I guess we all have our preferences.

  • @1xCloudStrifex1 everyone likes what i like.

  • It even made her cry.

    Emotional effect = success.

  • OK here's where i don't get it

@ 0:13 at the top it says it's for DS as well

so why doesn't nintendo simply port and translate it to the american DS

or at least have it as a downloadable game on the DS shop or E shop for 3DS

  • @doomsdamnsd The DS can play GBA games. That's why it was shown. As for porting, I agree that it's worth it, but perhaps they think it's too soon to port it already. As for officially translating it... That battle had been long lost, unfortunately.

  • It says it all that people cry just thinking about Mother 3...

  • "Strange, funny, and heartrending."

*flashes back to stepping out of Ness' house to hear Onett's theme for the first time*

*flashes back to memories of drinking coffee and reflecting on the journey I made"

*flashes back to memories of all the wacky enemies I fought and goofy characters I talked to*

*flashes back to memories of fighting the masked man*

*flashes back to memories of when I prayed for a group of four kids I didn't even know when all hope seemed lost*

    yeah, this series is.

  • When I see the Ending of Earthbound 3,

I don't cry for almost anything usually, but...

    This time, I exploded in tears...**snif** ;_;

  • @Pantycoolness Um there is no earthbound 3. This is Mother 3. It never came over seas so theres no reason to call it earthbound. If anything it should be earthbound 2 since Mother 2 is earthbound. Hope that made sense.

  • @ZeratheWolf Ah. Thanks to correct me.

  • I love this game, but I have to say, after all the hell Lucas has gone through over the three years and change that the game spans...

I DON'T CARE WHAT ANYONE SAYS!!

Lucas deserves someone to love and to share his life with. Those who know enough about Mother 3, you know where this is going.

  • the only thing that makes you cry is no mother 4 ;C

  • By the way don't play this game if you have a recently died or dead important and precious family members, it will make you cry like their is no tomorrow, reminding of those who are precious to you. SO, if you have a weak heart and a dead family member, don't play this game

  • @dekaidoku Uh... spoiler much?

  • THAT was my reaction after playing the game and finishing it, even after knowing all the major plot twists from the story, that is how sad this game is, but that is what makes this game great

  • Ending of the game, ok im ready im ready im ready dont cry dont cr do-OH GOD ALL MY TEARS, THERE EVERYWHERE

  • This I a gameboy advance game and it brought tears to so many eyes. A true work of art.

  • I cried...alot

Needs moar mother 4, moar sadness, and moar pk love

  • I think Chapter 6 had the biggest impact on me. I couldn't handle what Lucas went through. :/

  • First chapter, FIRST FUCKING CHAPTER, I wanted to cry.

  • Hm... I loved the game, but I don't think this would have sold it for me. I mean, the game was happy too! She looks like she's narrating her survival of cancer or something.

  • These commercials make me want to cry, then I start laughing at the same time.

  • I think is not just Mother 3.... all Mother series makes me cry. Because is just so intense, so well developed, that when it ends, is just too sad. Mother FTW! :D

  • I Was Crying Alot.

  • I finished the game yesterday and I still feel like crying. ;-; It's just that powerful.

  • @RRRadish

I completed Mother 2/EarthBound in the first month of summer this year. I used up a whole box of Kleenex. I'm 20 years old. I'm a guy.

  • Remember, no crying until the end.

  • if you didnt cry at the end of mother 3 well then.......you uh.........suck

  • @poopingzebra As long as you feel a sense of sadness and pity.

It reminds us all of the loss that we deal with in life and how we deal with it.

  • If you didn't cry at the end of Mother 3, chances are you have no soul. Just sayin.

  • Even I kinda grew to some sorrow from this game, it really gets you in the heart... torso... area... :'(

  • I never cried BECAUSE EVERYONE SPOILED IT!

  • @sonicdsfan1 that sucks :\ however, mother 3 is a game FULL of little details that touch you, so play it exploring and paying attention to those things

  • @Garrador it did touch me alot i just didn't cry

  • @sonicdsfan1 yeah, i think this is the most exaggerated of the 5 ads. i didn't CRY, but i was close to. my eyes were watery in many moments. and i LOVE the game for that.

  • I didn't think I'd cry when I'd play this. I watched a couple parts of playthroughs and spoilers, so I was expecting a few things. However one part unexpectedly hit me pretty hard and I ended up crying anyways.

  • MOTHER 3 caused me to drink excessively, my wife left me and took my children away, I lost my job and my home. I now live on the streets begging for money so I can get so drunk that I can't feel the pain anymore. I haven't eaten in weeks and yesterday I got mugged by a working class man.

  • @iTroll87 So you live in the streets and beg for money so u can get drunk... but you have a computer and internet........ hmmmm

  • @iTroll87 I troll 87

  • I couldn't agree more.

I REALLY didn't think I'd cry nearly as much as I did >>

  • The real thing that makes us American gamers cry, is that Mother 3 never made it in the US

  • Remember now everyone. No crying till the end. That goes for Kids, grownups, and even young women.

  • Mother 3 was the first game to make me cry ;~;

  • What system did they release this game on in north america?

  • @Year64e

It was never released in North America, sadly...

  • @Year64e They did not release it in America, unfortunately.

    BUT!!

Mother 3 has an English Translation made by fans of Earthbound, and it is played on GBA. Hope that answers your question. :3

  • i havent cried over a plot in a game since, well ever! i love this game so much!

  • I don't think I ever cried becaue of this game, but it still holds a place in my heart.

  • i hope she finished the game. ''no crying until the end,,

  • lol I'm sorry, but this is sooo staged.

  • "PFFFt. Over dramatic. Its a video game."

    *completes it.*

    "H...h...h...holy...shit. *Sniffle*"

  • I remember watching this and being like OH YEAH THATS SO DUMB THAT WONT HAPPEN. Then it happened.

  • This is my favourite one. Itoi claims this isn't staged and it's legit, but even if it wasn't, I'd still love it.

  • Commercials in Japan are so much better. -_-

  • Let it out, japapanise woman...

..Claus... Lucas "I can tell they will be friends" T-T

  • Mother 3 made me cry in the first 10 min....

  • AWOOBUSHEE??? 0:06

  • These commercials are perfect!

They tell you what you'll feel, but hardly anything about the game.

  • YOU CAN PLAY THIS GAME ON THE DS?!

  • @emmeg516 yea bye it before there prices go higher 0_0

  • Let me correct DoggieDevil88. Better than Final Fantasy VII.

  • This commercial was the reason I started to play the Mother/Earthbound games. From when I saw this it felt really hard to see if this was real or not.

I assure you, after playing Mother 3 you will all understand this commercial. But play Earthbound before this one.

  • o_o Her crying makes me cry.

Although the game itself didn't jerk my tears.

  • @GreenGearMood

No crying until the ending...After when you complete it your going to cry from sad but beautiful ending.

  • Just watching this makes me tear up!

  • I think by far

  • mother 3 made me cry. I MEAN FULL OUT SOBBING! Final fantasy 7 has nothing on mother 3

  • The scene in Chapter 1 is definitely the saddest moment in video game history. It's amazing how so much emotion was put into that scene. Itoi is a genius!

  • How can anyone not cry? Especially after what happens in the beginning, Chapter 6 and the shocking turn at the end?

  • I cried reading the interview with Itoi when he talked about the ending. because it reminded me of why I cried in the end battle

  • 0:05 awoobashee

  • Win

  • I actually had the same reaction as this lady when I beat the game.

  • Best Nintendo if not best RPG ever

  • best game ever, beyond all systems and genre. best game period.

Mother 3 was and still is the only game to make me cry.

Screw other modern crap, Mother ftw.

  • @iStarfruit no make me emo XD

  • I know how she feels...the end of the game made me tear up too...

  • Mmhmm.

    Rare game, this one is.

  • Aww, that's so cute!

  • 0:05 oh yoshi!

  • probably refering to the "Yushee Giygas" video on youtube.

  • no she preferring yoshi from yoshis island

  • DAMMIT I want that game in the U.S!!!!!!!!

  • ;_;

  • wat mother 4 and 5?

    (refered form description)

  • WTF no, in starmennet's semi latest videos they uploaded a vid of itoi saying they are not making mother 4 so im assuming hes not making 5 either

  • The description box explains there are 5 different commercials to the mother 3 game, this one in particular being the third commercial of 5.

  • thats what im sayin

  • o kks...but da thumb down is kinda unnecessary for a little carelessness isnt it? =)

  • true

  • the 4th and 5th part of the commercial DUH! -___-

  • aight then! damn! i got it! >=/

  • dude i had to restart like 5 times in order to fill my battle memory and fill every secret....and i havent grown tired of restarting once! =D

  • the other day i was playin the song eight melodies in my head and just burst out cryin.very pwerful game

  • the ending wouldve been really sad for me if it werent for ALL THE FREAKING SPOILERS ON YOUTUBE!!! x__x

  • i hate when hinawa dies

  • Mother 3 is such a kick ass game. Awesome story line and very touching story.

  • strange, funny and heartrending, shigesato itoi is a genius

  • It's Kind of sad because Hinawa died

  • Man anyone have a tissue? Jeez, damn stuff gets me every time.

  • the piano makes me tear up.. every damn time.

  • It's not about your gender. The commercial shows that she was able to emotionally connect with the game's story. It's easy to make fun of her but it's incredible when you think about it. Movies are easy to relate to, but to imagine a game drawing you in to the point of tears is nothing short of astounding. That's what makes a commercial as subtle as this so powerful.

  • Actually, update: The fan translation will be released this week.

  • when the message strange, funny and heartrending appeared with that music and the woman crying, I almost cried too :´(. This game looks awesome.

  • It's one of a few games that indeed make me cry. I don't think I've played games as emotional as Earthbound/Mother 2 and Mother 3.

  • I just beat Mother 3... My GOD, it's the greatest psychological experience a gamer can have. I can't believe I was actually crying at the end. Truly, I think this is the greatest RPG to be concocted.

  • Buy this game, It makes you mom cry :D

  • How come we can't have commercials like this? Instead, we have:

"ZOMG iz another GENERIC WAR GAME/SHOOT 'em up. iz the exact same as every other Game excpet BETTER GRAPHIX!!! oooooh!! Also comming out...PLAYSTATION 5602475!!! WITH amazing grrraphix! even though it plays like crap! ONLY for $100 000!!! BUY IT NOW OR SONY WILL KILL YOU"

  • Different countries have different perspectives on life. For example, as far as video game advertising goes, Americans like agression and sex appeal, while the Japanese like subtlety, beauty, and emotion.

  • one day i will move to glorious nippon and live amongst them

  • Bhlaab: I wish you luck. From what I hear, though, they don't take kindly to foreigners unless they're celebrities.

  • @Loader2K1

don't know where you got your info from, but japs love foreigners. you may get strange looks on the street but whenever you interact with them they treat you like a king. havent been many places but i can tell they are one of the kindest and most hostly (is that a word?) people around.

  • @vibratingcat: Alright, so I'm wrong.

  • In that case, I wish I was Japanese (lol, this is a joke, but really, I hate games that we Americans get with that kind of shit in them).

  • americans still like emotion and maybe beauty im not sure what subtlety means but we like that stuff too but how can we like agression

  • I meant in terms of advertising in video games.

  • oh well your right there but they didnt change the commercial on that PMD2

  • @Loader2K1 Wow...That's just stereotyping. You do not KNOW how many explicit porno/hentai games they're are for Japanese PCs, WAY more there than here. The Japanese generally have a very sex based culture, with porn and shit everywhere. Learn before you post.

  • @MrSaturn33: For your information, I was NOT stereotyping the Japanese; I was going by the emotions displayed in their advertising about video games. And yeah, I'm well aware of hentai games, which I wasn't even talking about. Why don't you respect people's opinions instead of jumping all over them for having an opinion different from yours?

  • @Loader2K1 It's not an opinion, because you're just EXAGGERATING. There's plenty of American video game commercials like this, I'm sure. And by the way, this is freaking NINTENDO, none of their commercials will have "Aggression" and "Sex Appeal." And not every Japanese commercial has "subtlety" "beauty" and "emotion" either. And don't say, "I didn't mean every one!" Because you said they LIKE it. Not every Japanese video game maker LIKES that. Not every American video game maker LIKES that.

  • @MrSaturn33: Fine. Believe whatever you want.

  • @Loader2K1 It's extremely hard to believe your statement when the Japanese are basically the fetish-filled country to the most hardcore of pervertedness, rofl. They also have a lovely sense of Yaoi/Yuri/Loli's and love pedophilia and incest and little girls that look underaged but somehow are told to be perfectly Not minors at all :O

Great beauty and subtlety there.....all that fetish-filled porn they make....Oh, and tentacle rape came from them too. Lol

  • @Mounce2: Let's all just agree to disagree, m'kay?

  • @Loader2K1 XDDDDD That sounds like a submissive and overly-neutrality-styled kind of 'defeat' to my ears ;| What is there to agree and disagree upon by your own words?

  • @Mounce2: Nah, I just don't feel like arguing anymore. We have our differences in opinion, so I'm just going to leave it at that. Also, arguments like these usually turn into flame wars, and I'm trying to avoid that. In other words, have a nice day.

  • @Loader2K1 I understand quite well, the stupidity of how easy youtube-arguments happen, I had like, 50 emails of youtube responses of people 'disagreeing' and getting mouthy and ignorant or full of themselves at me and tossing random childish insults, trust me, lol....This wouldn't have gotten 'that' far in any way. I don't fee like arguing either on youtube just because of all the people I have already dealt with, soooo, Eh. You too.

  • best youtube comment i´ve ever read!!!

  • @Dadevster2 Precisely.

Most people nowadays only look at the graphics, they don't know the word and/or concept "story", they are pleased as long as the game contains guns, swords, veichles, nudity and a shitload of complicated statements on how good the graphics are.

I LOVE MOTHER 3! Enough said.

  • @rayz0rz AMEN!

  • @Dadevster2 You don't need to act like a weirdo by the way.

  • @Dadevster2 no : it's more simple : Playstation 911466302764 - Now with better graphics than life . Only 100000 cold cash. and their motto - you can buy one house at this cash , but who needs a house ?

  • @Dadevster2 Sony is a good company, stop bashing them.

  • @Dadevster2 yeah i know right XD

  • @Dadevster2 Stop bashing Sony and being a Nintendo fanboy. I love MOTHER 3, Nintendo, Sony, and Microsoft. See? Not biased. So many people think Halo 3, Killzone 2, Resistance, and all those other games are bad just because they don't move your heart and make you cry. People put a lot of hard work and effort into those games for others to ENJOY, and while maybe they're not as good as MOTHER, there's still undeniably many great shooters out there.

  • nintendo truly has a master piece in their hands.

  • That's not in ours.

  • lol

  • nice lol
