  • over it*

  • omg try see the car at 0:16-0:35 the car has got the manhole cover it

  • funny

  • See the person running around minute 1:15 and 1:26? this is Megalatron and Godzilla having a pissing contest for control of planet earth.

  • If you look at 0.41 you can see water running past the dislodged manhole lid, This shows the road is on an incline. Combine this with the size of pipe, which must be probably 2meters diameter judging by the size of the lid in front of pickup, and you will get a colossal flow down the hill which has obviously overwhelmed the lower pipe system causing water to escape from anywhere it can

  • how is that possible? I wanna know myself. youd think it'd just seep out. I don't understand how rainwater can be trapped? and then put under massive pressure? an earthquake could definately cause this. but there is no earthquake during this video.

  • @BeRAd427 This happens all the time with urban sewer/rainwater systems. The amount of rain coming down simply overwhelms the capacity of the existing pipe. Pressure builds and wherever relief is available is where the water goes. There's an immense amount of pressure involved.

Granted, it's not usually this severe, but at least 4-5 times per summer I see manhole covers being pushed up like Wile E. Coyote on a geyser.

  • Here proof that the average person is plain stupid. So your traveling on the highway see a 40ft geyser coming out the road itself and your like, oh i can drive thru that.

I have no sympathy for the dumb.

  • @xevious2501 I don't think the person saw it in time... you know, torrential rain, windsheet coated with water... reduced visibility...

  • @TheWitchOvAgnesi increased braking time

  • @metsfan12694 I doubt they even had time to brake (although you're obviously correct). If you watch the video again, it was literally 4 seconds from the time when the water was shooting high enough to be visible and when the car arrived.

  • Must watch video

  • taxi pulls up "hey buddy need a ride?"

  • geil !!

  • Tsunami?

  • that is poo and pisses or is just water?

  • @alfok water

  • This happened at 34th and I35W

  • heres a map to where I beleive the video is from. could have been from a nearby intersection, I never got proof of exactly where it was.

  • This guy just wont quit. First he drives his truck into a giant spout of water and hits this man hole cover, and THEN he gets out and stands around as it goes off again, then decides he's going to run TOWARDS the direction of traffic at the very end of the video. Genius.

  • HAHA at 0:13 a black car goes in the water ... dosent come out

  • @mithinlord No that's the truck at the end

  • I'm a scared!

  • I concure.

  • Alright.. Who divided by zero?

  • does insurance cover pissed off manhole?

  • Man-hole ANGRYY!!

    Man-hole SMASH puny TRUCK!!

  • some people just call it a geyser :P

  • hmm i used to live in minneapolis where this happened.

  • Old faithful takes a trip to the city lol.

Wow, crazy! good thing no one got hurt though

  • If that cover landed on the truck just imagine what the outcome would have been. Holy SHIET

  • Wow. Some DOT somewhere probably got some nasty calls about that.

  • that manhole is huge

  • How did it happen?

  • It looks to me that this was either the result of a pipe obstruction, or simply too great a water load for the storm water force main (pipeline leading from a pump station).

  • The civil engineer who designed this storm drain should have his license rescinded.

  • Actually, he probably designed it just like he was supposed to. Storm drains are usually designed to handle a five-year flood. Anything more than that hast to be handled by the streets themselves. You would need at least a 10' diameter pipe to handle all that water, and there is no way that the taxpayers are going to pay for it because it is such an infrequent occurence. He got it right, nemo1620 got it wrong.

  • haha this is by my house! dammmm!

  • my fault....dodgy chicken tikka

  • I lol'd.

  • That guy needed a shower

  • FUCKIN HELL, THAT'S WHAT HAPPENS IF YOU FLUSH A CHERRY BOMB DOWN THE LOO!!

I guess that was in America right?

  • more like c-4

  • what the hell is that thing in front of his truck

  • its the manhole cover

  • that looks like fun but ur gonna need a LOT of windshield wipers

  • on the bright side , he got a car wash ?

  • just awesome footage

  • Unreal!

  • they should of tightnen the cover?

  • OMG!

  • HAH! That guy shit his pants for sure when old faithfull went of again in the middle of trying to free up his truck.

  • it's a storm sewer lid cover. This is what happens when storm sewers are designed incorrectly and the storm water backs up in the system.

  • love how nobody stops to see if the guy is okay... and why the hell would you drive into something like that??

  • That's a huge manhole cover. You really would not want to drive into that or fall down it!

  • SPLOOSH!!!!!!

  • i go across that bidge every day to get to school

  • That's what happens when too many people take laxatives at the same time.

  • this is off the chain!!!

  • That is scary stuff and people still drive through as nothing has happend dumb ass idiots.

  • @dangerousdazza They're probably doing 70 miles an hour. Slamming on the brakes in the middle of all that water at that speed is more stupid than carrying on.

  • holy crapola.. people are still driving through that like maniacs and not even slowing down!

  • holy shit!

  • Run forrest Run!

  • talk about bad timing. lol.

  • How is this possible?

  • Engineering gone wrong.

  • @marjan12342

The storm sewer was probably built right, to service a 1 in 2 year storm but considering this was on a highway probably much higher. Increase in development and an increase of surface run off combined with a large storm. As well the maintenance hole was probably well under the hydrolic grade line forcing the water up...if that was the case the yes very bad civil engineering.

  • @marjan12342 Storm system back up. Sometimes it happens when it hasnt rained in a long time. Then all of a sudden. 6 inches of rain. The system is all clogged so back up results. And sometimes... pressure builds.

  • LOL at the guy running the second time.

  • Este accidente es grave pero es una catastrofe lo del puente sobre el misisipi Bridge collapse i35w
