I have always wanted to do what shute does here, running up the stadium steps with a tree log or a punch bag on my back but my college doesnt have a stadium.
You can start now, I started wrestling at this age in High school. Stick to a low set, high intensity routine that emphasizes the squat, the deadlift, the chin up, the dip, etc. (always try to add weight to the bar in strict form, eat like a horse, and you will gain muscle.). Don't get all hooked on how much you can bench, or doing arm work (you will gain way more muscle by doing the big exercises). Good luck and make sure you don't put on too much weight for your wrestling weight class.
That scene, and the one with the "notes on the Shute/McLain match" put Shute into the stratosphere of "opponents you do NOT want to fuck with"! Great movie!

I have always wanted to do what shute does here, running up the stadium steps with a tree log or a punch bag on my back but my college doesnt have a stadium.

You can start now, I started wrestling at this age in High school. Stick to a low set, high intensity routine that emphasizes the squat, the deadlift, the chin up, the dip, etc. (always try to add weight to the bar in strict form, eat like a horse, and you will gain muscle.). Don't get all hooked on how much you can bench, or doing arm work (you will gain way more muscle by doing the big exercises). Good luck and make sure you don't put on too much weight for your wrestling weight class.

That scene, and the one with the "notes on the Shute/McLain match" put Shute into the stratosphere of "opponents you do NOT want to fuck with"! Great movie!

Shute and Louden are roughly the same size, but Shute clearly has much...much more muscle on his frame.
I don't really see how they even in the same weight class. Muscle is dense....and weighs more.
